A little more information please. Are having trouble downloading or expanding? If you are having trouble expanding, describe the problem, including what application you are using to try to expand them and what if any error message you've gotten.

I downloded a rar house or lot and I double click on the lot with takes me to the Sims 2 Package Installer, and it says, "Please double-click on a custom content package file to install the content."Same happens when I drag it to The Sims 2 installer.

Aha! a clue. I think you have the game installed in the wrong place. It's like the only Mac app in the world that shouldn't just be put in the Applications folder. It needs to go into a Games folder that you create on the Macintosh HD. If you see folders named System and Library and Users it's the right place to create the Games folder. Then install the game in that folder.

To uninstall the old one right you follow the instructions on the game cd in the readme. Just use the open command for the cd to find it. If you don't delete everything like it says the new installation won't work right.

Um...excuse me if I speak out of turn but, shouldn't the game be installed straight on to your hard drive in case you want to use CEP? Are you sure this is the problem since my game is on the hard drive and my package installer works fine.

Aspyr currently recommends you put the game into a /Games folder. I have my game there, and the CEP works fine. The CEP is installation location neutral, as we have to put the two files into the right places manually! But installing the game directly on the root directory should be fine, too. You won't get the issues of the package installer not working like you often do when it's installed in Applications. It's just not where Aspyr recommends, and if you ever do have any problems the first thing they will tell you is to reinstall it there. In the past Aspyr recommended you put the game into the /Users/Shared folder. *shrugs* Aspyr support is less than phenomenal.

hmmm...I never got CEP to work when I had the game installed in applications (or wherever it installs by default. After closely reading the instructions to CEP I realized it said the game needed to be installed directly on the hard drive. Go figure.

Eh. He's just trying to help make sure Sim noobs don't have it in Applications. I'll ask him to change it to be more specific, i.e. the Games folder, next revision. He doesn't have a Mac, but bless him for making sure we get a CEP version! Numenor rocks.

Ah, yes, Numenor DOES rock. Well, I'm wondering if any of this has helped Pup4lif? I'm curious to find out what the problem is.

Can someone tell me If The ASPYR GAME AGENT is important?

Nope. Only if you want to know what games Aspyr is offering and if your computer can run them.

It's only real use is telling you the system specs of games they offer, something their website does.
