Can I rotate individual parts of a UV? I made a box with a diagonally placed lid...when I come to UV Map it the lid on the map is also diagonal...I want it straight so it's easier to apply the texture...but can't figure out how to do it...I selected the part I wanted to move and tried the rotate option but nothing happened to it...Am stumped :o(

You should be able to, although I only know how to alter it in Wings... Which program are you using to uv map?

Uv Mapper classic. I found a wee snippet via Google which says to select by material and then rotate, but my select by material is greyed out

You should be able to use the rotate option if you select by group as well.

I tried that but nothing happens when I put in the XYZ thingys...nothing I've selected moves..

Did you remap it after choosing rotate?

Ahhh...I get it now!!! Well, that part anyway, thank you!! ....The XYZ thingys I can't figure out for the life of me though...

I just wanna straighten the marked rectangles in the pic below but I can't figure out which of the XYZ things to use or how many degrees to use...I've tried a few different ones and they all go into mad directions... :o(
