I was wondering, is it possible to delete Maxis objects and clothes which we usually cannot delete from the game?

This can't be done without manually delete parts of the original game files.
If you want to do this so to have a clean catalog, then deleting objects is not very difficult (but nevertheless requires opening one game file with SimPE and deleting the proper resources).
But if you want the game to load faster, then you have to manually edit something like 10-15 different game files (for the objects), with a very high risk to delete something vital for the game.
I don't know about the clothings, but anyway it's something that I definitely would discourage to do.

I wonder if null default replacement can quicken the loading?
There're 2 major ways at least I've been thinking of.
1. just make removable null default replacements and place them in the downloads folder.
2. back-up the will-be-modified files. Then open the object or 3D packages, nullify the objdata files (break the game recognition), gmdc, lifo and txtr files (the 3 generally most space-eating ones). bhav and many others are kept just in case repository usages. Surely, txtr and lifo have to be checked if they reused elsewhere. One has recolour hem to test and learn that tho :P .
3. for some objects, altering scripts can already silence parts of them.
As for BS products, one has to count if default NPC or default characters are using the stupid products. One may have to alter their BS contents with the ones that're left.
But in my cases, I don't mind some of those NPC only have their heads floating around  !

Niol, your #1 might work (in the sense that the object would be nt available in the catalog), but the game would load slower, not faster, because it has to read all the usual game files, plus the ones in the Downloads...
As for your #2, I meant that when I told to edit 10-15 game packages: at least the objects.package and the 9 ObjectsXX.package's (9 per EP!).
