Yes that is one of plasticbox's fantastic creations, i have tried and tried and i can't get those windows to light up like they do in the picture.
I have read all the tutorials on basements and nothing helped, so i'm hoping someone here can give a hand and explain it to me.

Thanks:D

Heh, you could've asked on that thread too =) (I have them all subscribed)

I'm not sure what you mean by "light up": do you mean there's no light coming in, or that the windows (the objects themselves) don't seem lit?

For the former, the most likely reason is that your basement is 12 clicks below street level but it needs to be 2 clicks higher for the light to come in. See this thread (old but still true) for a few interesting facts about basements: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=113189

If it's the latter, your ingame settings might be too low -- I seem to recall that if "Lighting" is set to "Low", lots of things don't look like they should .. rooms aren't lit properly, etc. I use "High", but "Medium" should work OK for most everything.

Hey Plastic can you do half basements? I have tried for prolly the last couple years, at least 15 times...lol...to rebuild my moms house. All the tutorials in the world dont seem to get me the results im looking for. If you want, message me and Ill fill you in on design.

Thanks!

Glad to hear I could help!

Kimdelee, I've no time to do requests in the foreseeable future. Sorry.
