Careers and Hidden Skills

In the SimPE Bidou Careers tool there are only the seen skills that can effect promotion etc. Can hidden skills be used as well to effect promotion? I know they would not be seen, but is it possible... things like romance, dance, and alien abduction are examples of what I am referring to. If there is any chance of this please tell me what to start reading, or what to have my husband start reading to dig up how we would go about doing it.
