View Full Version : Mesh kinda blows up when in game or Bodyshop

I've been following Tiggerypum and HystericalParoxysm's tutorial for beginner meshing and was getting along fine until I tried to view the mesh in Bodyshop. The shoulders look like they exploded and the neck sometimes appears invisible. I've made more meshes such as flaring dresses and lenghtening skirts but they all turn up the same. I'm sure I'm using the latest SimPE and Milkshape. Can someone help me?

Thanks

There were people that reported having problems with meshes using the 0.63.8 (0.63h) QA version of SimPE that was posted here and there. But I haven't heard if upgrading to the release 64.x version fixed them (get it on the SimPE site, look for a pointer in the threads).

SimPE had been giving me a warning to download 'Managed DirectX'...I know it's daft, but I've been ignoring that message. Could that be the problem?
Also, when I import the mesh I want to edit in Milkshape, it gives me this:
'Some Skin Weights do not total 100%. Do you want these corrected?'
As for the version of SimPE, I've just updated to the latest.

Thanks again

You definatly need Managed direct x....... and NET Framework 2.0.
In combination with not fixing the bones to 100% i can understand why you got these results.

When you import with UniMesh and it asks if you want the skin weights corrected, always answer Yes.

The only reason you would not want them fixed by UniMesh is if you wanted for some reason to track them down yourself, and manually correct them.

I've downloaded the Managed Direct X but it still won't work :(

What am I going to do? :help:

We can make the tools, we can make tutorials, but we cannot make you use them.
Besides having installed the code into the UniMesh importer to detect and, if allowed, correct underweighted vertices, there is a plugin included with the set that will automatically fix the underweighted vertices. One click for either solution.

Whiel I am somewhat deft at making the tools, no one around here knows more about using them to get great results than Dr. Pixel or bLURR. Follow their instructions and you won't go wrong.

Looks like a UniMesh plugins for MilkShape problem, maybe you should have to download the latest version of them.
