I created a house, spent hours fine tuning it, and when I went to move it to the lots and houses bin, all that is there is a black space where the picture of the lot is supposed to be. I also used the clean installer and tried to upload the lot into my game, but that resulted in a black screen instead of a picture, also. Any ideas? It must be something went wrong with the thumbnail or something, but I have no idea how to fix the issue. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Is the lot working ?
take a good screenchot (about 300*300)
edit the lot package with simpe, (lotcatalox\cx......package
edit the image.jpc ressource, right click on the wrong pic line to replace it
save and quit

As patul has asked, may play-test the lot in an experimental neighbourhood (a newly created custom neighbourhood by moving the whole present neighbourhood folder somewhere not in the The Sims 2 folder to avoid the game reading it and so causes corruptions and confusions.) and it's better move your current neighbourhood somewhere during the testing.
Just in case, that's to avoid lot corruption that in turns causes neighbourhood corruption and then the other lots.

So what I think you are saying is that the lot may be corrupted and that is why the picture isn't showing up? What I get is just a black segment where ordinarily the picture of the lot would be in the Lots & Houses bin.
I haven't used SimPE since September (when I installed BV), so my recollection is sketchy. I have tried to go to the website to review some tutorials but am having tremendous difficulty. I thought it was a problem on my end, but I seem to access all other sites easily. I don't want to fiddle with SimPE and screw something up because of my ignorance and fading memory. I have never used it to attach a picture to a lot and although Patul's directions are quite simple, don't know how to identify my lot from amongst all others.
I'll try play testing the lot in an experimental neigborhood and go from there.
Thanks all!

lol, I don't mean your lot must be too corrupted to be infective but just suggest that possibility just in case.
good lucks... :)

Niol, I went in with a totally clean neighborhood and it worked out fine. I was able to make a copy of the house and the picture showed up in the brand spankin' new 'hood. Something must have happened. I figure I deleted the appropriate picture that was supposed to be attached to the original one. Everything turned out great! I'm going to try to submit.
