View Full Version : Why can't I recolor this cloned object?

Hi,
I cloned an OMSP (One More Slot Package), and it works fine in game, but for some reason, I am not able to recolor it. I need to make an invisible version, and I know how to do it, but every time I try, it won't show up in game, and it 'breaks' the original, as in it can't be placed on the lot anymore.
Here is the original. Can someone please help me? I have covered all the loose ends and I still can't figure it out.
Thanks in advance.

I`m just guessing here, but it sounds to me like your clone is overriding the original object. Could you check out that possibility?

Thanks for the reply.
I thought assigning a new GUID would mean it wouldn't interfere with the original? Am I wrong? 'Cause I have assigned it a new GUID.
I tried my recolors on a clean computer (No other downloads) and it works, perfectly, but when I added the original to see if they could coincide together, it broke the original, but the clone still worked.
I'm seriously at a loss. Thanks for reading. <3

I opened the package you posted, and it looks identical to the original OMSP for couches: same GUIDs (0x0027C914 and 0x0027C915), same ModelName (jb1-omsp-couch). Sorry for asking, but what is the difference between your OMSP for Couches, and the original one? different height?
Anyway, it seems that you are convinced to have assigned new GUIDs, but you actually didn't. Also, when cloning, the "Scenegraph Reneame Wizard" will appear, with a default unique name: I suggest not to modify it, and just click OK, so to have a unique clone.

Ahh, Numenor... I uploaded the wrong freakin' package. I'm so, so sorry. I have opened the correct clone in SimPE now, and my GUID is completely different from the one you mention (It's 0x00517810), and have retested in game, again to be sure, but I still have the same problem.
Please forgive me for my stupidity. Here is the real clone, with it's recolor. (Uploaded to mediafire, because attachments appear to be down at the moment.)

As for the difference between the two, mine is set where Sims can be placed upon it. Since I don't have OfB, I can't use the magisplay, so I wanted to make the omsps usable with Sims, for the awesome picture-taking, ya know?
Anyway, thanks so much for replying, and sorry again for the mishap. *Facepalm*
