View Full Version : Making a object have a reflection of a mirror?

Is there a way to have a object have the reflection of a mirror? For instance, I am trying to make a car that has a reflection of a mirror, so it would look a lot more realistic. The thing is that mirrors dont have properties I can look at, and I dont really know what to do.
Any advice or comments are more than welcomed! :)

Is there any way to change envcube of the glasses in TXMT?

FP... could you not rip the TXMT resource out of a mirror and put it into whatever package your trying to edit?
I'd actually like to know this lol.

It is possible. I'm sure there's no harm in opening packages up. I suggest blake_boys Aussie Bathroom Paintings (they have a mirror-like surface).
Good luck! :)

AFAIK you can't make a curvy surface look like real mirror - mirrors are more just TXMT setting.
You can try, though, to simply add envcube and set stdMatEnvCubeCoef high enough (even 128,128,128 is quite high, by the way) - would it be enough?

Thanks guys for your responses!
There is no TXMT for the mirror part in the actual mirror objects. I did however found the TXMT of a mirror by searching for it in SimPE. I copied that into my file, but unfortunately it didn't work.
Thanks for the suggestion Manga, but blake_boys painting is a transparent picture over a mirror. It does look really cool though.
Jasana, thats basically what I wanted to do is make a curvy mesh look like a mirror. I could try raising the CubeCoef, but it has it's reflection texture set to "outdoordaytime-envcube", which means you would only probably see that texture more. :)
But thank you all for your help! I really appreciate it! I guess Im just trying to do the impossible.
