hi,
i've been playing the sims 2 for a very long time and i just started downloading content in the past two years i think... and the problem is that when i downloaded certain items like furniture or game mods or anything that interferes with the game it made my whole system crash! i had to install a new windows system 4 times in a row and i don't know why and it doesn't happen when i download normal body shop items at all nor with sims! so should i play the game with just body shop and sims only and hope it will be ok or should i stay away from cc?

Custom content would not make it so you had to fully reinstall Windows. It just doesn't do that. Something else has to be going on if you actually had to reinstall Windows. Custom content can make your game crash but not your whole computer.

Moving to Game Help since Creator Issues really isn't the place for it. :)

If your entire system is crashing to the point where you need a fresh Windows install then it's not a game problem, but something wrong with your computer - which is what HP was saying.

If your computer is under warranty I would take immediate advantage of it and get your computer serviced. If you have no way to get your computer serviced then we can do a few simple things to try to help on here, but we're really not supposed to provide computer tech support on this site, just game help.

We'll start here.. please post your system specs: http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:System_Specs I'd prefer if you used the second Everest method because it gives a lot more information and we can help you track down certain drivers and patches that we wouldn't know about from just providing the information in the first link.
