kindve like the lighten bugs in seasons cast a green glow after you catch them
i cloned the crystal ball an i thought it be nice touch to make it slighty glow

You have to work with "effects". To do that you have to know a little about slot, cres and BHAV edition. There's one tutorial by Atavera, here (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=145518).

I may be mistaken...but if you are wanting a glow, look into changing the stdMatEmissiveCoef value (link (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=316260) - part 1) in the material definition. If you wanting something to function like a lamp though, it wouldn't hurt to look at a lamp object. The bugs objects would be good to look at as well, especially if that is what you are trying to replicate. Again, I may be mistaken, but I don't think all object glows are necessarily effects in the sense of that tutorial.

stdMatEmissiveCoef is a "fake" glow. I mean, will only work for the texture itself.
The green effect (like a light, but isn't) is an effect ( well, i think so).
