Where did my tombstones go?

Since my new batch of sims started dying of old age I decided to create a nice cemetery for their tombstones. I moved all their graves there, and I get the message that they are going to return to their place of death (which is the house I just moved them from) unless I save the game... I saved the game, but their tombstones haven't appeared in the cemetery lot, and they're gone from their house lot. Does anyone know how this works?

That is odd. Did you pack up the tombstones in a sims' inventory and take them to the boneyard? I usually do it that way and it has never failed. On the other hand, I am missing some gravestones. Maxis claims to have fixed that with the patch, but I still suffer from disappearing gravemarkers once in a while.

I think (s)he clicked on the tombstone with her/his sim and then choosed 'move tombstone' or something like that, this option is added with Nightlife.

Yes, I know. I believe the patch fixed that particular bug (or claims to have done so). I've always shuttled them to the cemetary in a sims' inventory. :)

Well, it looks like my problem is solved... I waited a few days, re-entered the lot with a tombstone in my inventory, and found all the others waiting for me! So strange... Apparently all I needed was a little patience.
