The display fridges will show up when you're on the community lot, under shelving I believe? Misc section.

You'll need an oven/stove, and a fridge (yes, a normal one). A sales counter, cash register, the open sign, some tables and chairs, etc.

Display fridges show up on home lots too. You can find them under shelving in the tables catalog. You'll also need to hire someone to help with the cash register or with the baking. You can't really do both with a single sim. And restoking too.

I'm building up a business empire with one of my sims and haven't tried a bakery yet!

Can't wait to make a H&M for her when the new stuff pack comes out haha.

Right, i've made a basic bakery as you can see.. it's nothing too fancy as yet but it'll do lol.

Will i need to download those cakes and things from the links so that i can actually make cakes to sell, or are there any in game already?

You can sell the birthday cake and the wedding cake that come with the game. or you can get your sim to bake some cakes from the menu and then sell those. The easyest to make is the gellatin, because they just get it out of the fridge, there's no cooking involved.

I just wanted to know if anyone knows if you can sell items in a bakery on a community lot (which are not the maxis defaults). For example, I downloaded some cupcakes that can be found in buy mode (I believe it was from exnem sims site). Then I put it in the bakery on a community lot. When my characters went to the lot, there was no option to interact with the cupcakes and buy them. However, a would see one cupcake missing and NPC sim would be eating it. I also have a cash register and a decra grill. Sorry about the long post but can someone please help. Thanks.

Have you set them for sale? If you don't set them for sale then they will just be like a normal food plate and anyone can eat them.

Thank you for the help. THis is a community lot so to put them on sale, would I have to have my sim purchase the lot and move in (and use it as a home business)? I'll try what you've suggested and hope that it all works out. Thanks again.

you don't have to have the sim move in. all you have to do is click the icon on the Business controller (top right of the screen) that is the wholesaler. Then touch the mouse to all the items you want to set for sale. it will highlight them yellow. that is how you know if they are for sale. read the game tips for more instructions?

I'm pretty sure that they have to be in the display fridge. Once they are, click on the setting-for-sale tool thingy, and then click the whole display. It works just like a shelf, with everything inside being set at the same price. :)
