ok i figured out how to make a home business finally, how exactly do i go about selling items and so forth? it seems a bit hectic (i locked the door to my home so other sims can't barge in), but all in all i have 3 girls fighting in the middle of my store and it seems to be mayem trying to keep it calm and controlled. any tips on keeping things smooth would be great for i'm a first time business owner/sims player. also, i can't seem to flip the OPEN sign in front of my store around, when highlighted it doesn't respond as an interactive object.

The Sims2Wiki is a beautiful thing.

ok here goes. First, you need to make sure you hire employees. To do that, just click on the phone and click business: hire employees: for this lot. Since you are selling items, tou will want to hire at leat 3 sims. One to restock, one to sell items, and one to be cashier. So once you do that, just assign them to their jobs by clicking on them and then using the managment option. That way, they can take care of almost everything, and you can focus on those three girls that are fighting. And make sure you set the items you want to sell for sale with the sale tool. Just click it and then click all the items you want to be sold, they should highlight yellow. And maybe try moving your open/closed sign to a different spot and then trying it. Good luck!

About the open/closed sign. You can't use that until you pick up the phone and select to start home business. Have you done that yet?

I would recommend not hiring employees until you can afford it. When your business is small you don't have a lot of customers. You can do the stocking, sales, and cashier duties yourself for awhile.

If people are fighting then try and talk to one of them, or show a couple of people some items. Just keep them away from each other. I always have Sims picking fights or just doing the wrong social with each other (seriously, who comes up and tries to hug someone they don't even know?).
