Strange Uniform Problem

Hey, just recently I started having my Sims open their own shops, but a problem seems to be plaguing me: Whenever I have an employee or even my selectable Sim change into their uniform, they're face changes, sometimes they lose their glasses, or their facial hair and eyebrows. Other times their eye color will change, and still other times their face will change all together!

In this last one I actually set it so his Uniform would be exactly the same as his normal clothes are!

Any idea what's happening to me? It has absolutely nothing to do with any hacks I have currently installed, I ran the hack conflict detection tool over at Simwardrobe.com and none of my mods or hacks conflict. But just to be sure I actually removed all my mods/hacks and the problem persists. Is there any way to fix this?

You might have changed how they look. You can change hair. Also if the person is wearing make-up then it is removed when s/he's in uniform.

The only thing in the first two examples I changed in the set uniform screen was their clothes. Yet you can see in the first one that his entire face changes (to the face of another one of my Sims, no less!), and in the second example the guy loses his facial hair, eyebrows, and his eye color changes. And in the third one I didn't change ANYTHING in the set uniform screen and he lost his facial hair and eyebrows, and his face changed as well.

You can change hair.
The hair is the only thing that ended up appearing as I wanted it to*, everything else seems to change though... :confused:


Also if the person is wearing make-up then it is removed when s/he's in uniform.
None of them were in this case, but one guy was wearing glasses...

*In other words, I didn't touch the hair in any of the cases and it stayed the same in all the examples.

I had werid stuff happen like this, so I no longer use Uniform.

Sometimes Hair changes from black to brown, and I never change sims appearance, and its like 'who the hell is that?' and have to put my mouse pointer over to identify them.

Its definately an OFB bug which was ignored and was never fixed.

it seems that it set the template for your uniform to include data from another sim. I usually go in when I'm setting a uniform and adjust everything it lets me adjust. Then I do it again for each sim so they don't all end up with the first sim's hair and such. It seems to work (But it's a lot of hassle.)

Its got a lot worse for me after adding more EPs, not sure if its Pets or Seasons that are causing this.

I have also now noticed that half of my employees, their eye-colour changes like from green to brown, their facial structure changes, they lose their eyebrows and glasses.

Very werid if you ask me.

So can a frog-faced townie be improved by putting them in a uniform? (Imagine in real life: Yes, you can work here, but you need to have plastic surgery at your own expense every day!)

i don't think it's anything you're doing or not doing. mine does it at random times and not at others, most often on teenagers. its annoying but i usually just try to ignore it because i haven't figured out how to stop it. i think it's just a bug with ofb.

This is an awful bug. Is there no fix for it? I'll take some pics of it later on, but it's just as described above.

After I give any employee a uniform, the following happens:

They get a different face. Since I'm using all default face replacements and have for years, I can tell you that it's not the face that they started with. They get the face of the Bodyshop doll mannequin, but with the skin unchanged. They get those awful brown Maxis eyes (even though I have those with default replacements, too.) They lose their makeup and even their eyebrows.

Worse, I can't figure out how to remove their uniform, other than to fire them and rehire them. I have tried ordering them to go to "Casual Dress" through the "Management..." submenu, but that only lasts temporarily. The next time another Sim family visits the shop, the employees are back in uniform with the messed up faces.

I put a lot of work into those faces! Hasn't anybody tried to address this?

No. I had the same problem with Bon Voyage, on another neighborhood I don't play anymore. It happened with one Sim I didn't like very much anyway, so I just stopped playing that lot. So it predates Freetime.

Update: I was testing some more ideas. Firing and rehiring does NOT reset the assigned uniform. So once you assign a uniform to an employee, you're stuck with this no-eyebrows problem.

Also, if you try to assign a new uniform, but you don't use the uniform templates -- i.e., you just choose new clothing and click ok without saving it as a template -- the same thing happens. No relief there.

This has happened to me. It only happened when I set one employee's uniform and then when I selected another employee's uniform I selected a pre-made one (what first comes up in the window). Whenever you change an employee's uniform, just pick it manually, even if its the same as one in the templates.

It happens to everyone. It's happened to me ever since I installed OFB. A bug that EAxis just overlooked and never cared to fix. And a pretty annoying one, too. Why they don't fix it up is beyond me.

It happens every time I do it, even if I dress them manually without using a template. I thought maybe I had just borked this one business lot, or these particular employee sims, so I started a new business lot and hired a townie at random, and dressed him manually (no template saved.) I got the same thing -- a bald ugly Maxis mannequin face.

So doing it manually isn't the trick. Perhaps since I saved a template before, the whole neighborhood is borked such that you can't ever set an employee uniform, even manually? Whatever. It's a mess.

I was finally able to erase the employee's uniform so they would go back to their normal face. I downloaded the "Business Runs You" hack at More Awesome Than You, which has a clickable feature to erase employee uniform settings.

What a shame this couldn't have been fixed. I'm running FreeTime, but it was doing this before under Bon Voyage as well, so EA has had a lot of time to fix this problem if they had wanted to.

There was nothing to state that EPs were 100% compatible with each, except the game stills runs with multiple EPs.

It rarely happens with me, and sometimes just exiting the lot and re-entering the lot fixes it, or just dismiss the employee and call him back, because it sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't makes it a very hard thing to debug, its similar to the flashing blue accessories, it can happen and it can not. Its just a matter of luck.

Anyway it seems to only affect Adults ive noticed, Elders and Teens seem unaffected or am i wrong?

this was happening back when ofb was released..its the reason i quit using uniforms at all. it changed thier entire face to a default face template changed hair eye color and added/removed facial hair to men. i had forgotten about this bug until i read this thread but its no shock to me that it was never fixed...i mean just look at the primp interaction fiasco:P

Yeah I got this bug too, I just started my Max-cooking self-sim with his own small restaurant. And when I set his uniform, he got the facial structure (including face make up.... not body shape though) Of a Sim I made in Body Shop. (Ugly fragger he was... looks like a deviant ICP fan.)

Yeah same here, gets the bodyshop face. I haven't noticed eye colour but the facial hair was definitely removed. I think it also happened on a teen girl someone had employed ages ago. They really need to make a fix for this.

thought I bump this thread up, because this problem is really starting to annoy me. My game is all patched, and I've checked MTS2 and on Paladin's Place, but could not find a fix. Does anyone know of anywhere I can find a solution to this problem?

If I remember correctly, this is caused by the uniform not working with sims that have custom content on them. Sims with completely Maxis everything will not change faces, only those with CC skins, eyes, etc will. This applies to all default replacements too. Because it's not a problem made by the game company, they have no reason to fix it. No one seems to be able to find a fix either.

I've had that problem, but only with sims whose appearance I had never edited. I usually just use the temporal adjustor from the Insim' before getting the sim to wear a uniform. Just opening the "Change appearance" window and clicking "Ok" without changing anything, then making the lot owner define and choose a uniform for the employee should solve the problem.

theres some stuff that people havent mentioned, i dont know if thats cuz it doesnt work with cc or something, so here goes....
1 you can delete uniform teplates without a cheat, click the uniform template icon on the uniform screen, click on the offending uniform and then click the trash can icon near the bottom right.
2 i dont know if cc has an effect but i had the problem before i even knew about cheats or cc. the templates would make an exact copy of the first sim and if i touched any hair option facial hair, glasses, ect would change

ooo this is my most hated bug.

I even emailed EA"s tech help a year or 2 ago just for the hell of it. I told them that this is a known bug and alot of people are experiencing this, and all he told me was to reinstall the game... +_+

I hate this! I have all the EPs and need 1 more Stuff pack (Maybe SP?),and it changes everything but the hair color. They lose eyebrows, makeup, and glasses/whatnot. I can't stand it. My employees all look REALLY dumb. :faceslap:

Ugh! Sorry if this thread is totally did but this is really knacking me off. I have Sims that don't have ANY cc on them and they still lose their eyebrows etc. when wearing uniform and I even tried changing eyebrows in a mirror but to no avail. Perhaps if the entire community sent a bulk email to Maxis saying about it? ;)
