View Full Version : Sim Pets rescuers?

A few years ago I was really interested in Petz (an old game), so I lurked around on a lot of sites. I noticed that a lot of girls between ages 11-15 had banners about not abusing Petz i.e. using a dicipline spray bottle on them too much. They equaled being a bad Petz owner to being a bad pets owner. Some even made rescue sites with abused pets and their life stories to spread awareness.
Now I have never seen a "Stop Sim killing" site.
I wonder if these issues will pop up again now that we will have pixel pets again? Apparently taking bad care of simulated pets is way worse than killing simulated toddlers. I wonder if the same values appeal in real life to these girls too?
(Now don't get me wrong, I HATE people who abuse real pets.)

They did WHAT? holy.. I loved Dogz to death, and I attempted to start a website that rewarded good Breedz in petz 3-- you know, the quality ones, as opposed to the crappy ones that were everywhere. But I never saw those banners... shite.
Girls 11-15 (meaning they're really 9-13 probably) are weird.

13 year old girls are ... odd.
I know, I was one not too long ago.
But killing toddlers is sad too!!!!!!!
Although, if a crazy hater *musT* take out their aggression on animals..... I'd rather it be a simulated one. ; )

Ah yes, I'm a Petz fan...I do remember seeing those anti-petz abuse sites many times before. I don't think that will be much of an issue with The Sims 2 Pets since Maxis seems to be so much against animal abuse that they can't even die in fires. I think the only bad things you can do to them in this game is scold them and not feed them.

I'm sure people will unlock ways to kill pets just like you can kill toddlers. But really who cares? It's a game, not reality. If you like to play your game by killing sims or their pets - good for you. Most games out there are about killing, anyway.
Just because someone kills pixel dolls doesn't make them a bad person.

Tell that to THEM! :frying:
Their logic seem to move in this circle:
1: If you abuse pixels for long enough, your compassion will wear thin.
2: Your next victim will be a real pet.
3: Then it may be a small child. (They probably said that to get the attention of non pet lovers.)
Conclution: Allthough Sim-killing does not lead to violence, sim-pet abuse CAN! :smash:
Seriously, thogh, all you can do to petz is to spray them, and it's not like they cringe in pain or anything. They just jump a bit. You can also throw them about, but they don't even react to that as they always land on their feet. I bet that if a modder unlocks pet killing, (s)he'll get many angwy mails from girls. Remember the GL fur coat discussion?

I thought you were kidding at first, then I realized you're not. That's really sad.
I have never played GTA properly, but I would play it when I was stressed from my old job and just drive around like mad running over and killing as many people as I could. It was a great stress-reliever but not in a million years would I actually drive poorly or try to kill someone in reality.
Some people just have way too much time on their hands.

I prefer Dynasty Warriors (lately I've been playing 4)-- "Sun Shang Xiang has killed 200 enemies" somehow seems more stress relieving than sniping old ladies

you think thats fun try playing quake 4 lol
i play gt4 and quake 4 and games like that ALL the time and i wouldn't dream of killing someone i know abusing pets on dogz and catz is wrong and gives kids the wrong idea but i don't think theres many kids out there that would learn from that kinda thin though
