Pregnancy Length

How long is the pregnancy length of the dogs? My pointers 4days gone , i think, and im just wondering how much longer i shall have to wait *impatient*

that's a long time, i've only done one pregnancy and it took about a day and a half to two days

I'm having the same problem with dogs and cats, they get pregnant (or at least that's what i think as the option to try for puppy disappears) but then nothing happens ever again.

i think it must be a hack conflict, i'm going to try taking out all hacks later. forcing errors didn't change anything.

hmm,i havent had that,but,the trainer did pick up my cute li'l pink kitten and keep her in her hands.... :(
my 2pregancys we 2days, MiMi gave birth as soon as she came back from a walk,and coming back from work,lol! shes had 5pink babies! ^-^

Make sure you have aging on. That might affect it.


It's also a good idea to remove all your hacks. People are reporting all kinds of problems caused by the old hacks.

I had removed as many hacks as i could find, most i added [hack] to as i added them so i'd know which were hacks, but some of the first ones havnt got [hack] infront of them so im having some bother finding any that may still be there.

Edit:actually i may have a check through in clean installer see if i have any in red

I had all hacks in one sub folder and just went ahead and trashed the whole shebang lol I kept all replacement items though such as default replacement skintones.

I found a couple more using clean installer which ive moved out, i think ill just re-get a dog pregnant and see if it works

It takes a few days I think. I played the dog couple that comes with the game and for a while I thought they were bugged too. There is no warning that they are goign to have kittens or anything, the message just randomly popped up one day when I was getting ready to take them downtown (><).

My cat took 5 days. I forced an error but it didn't seem to do anything. But then after a couple of sim hours a pop-up screen came up that there were two kittens on the way.

My dog had hers in a day and an half.

Which is more realistic, because that kinda dog has theirs in 9 weeks. If 3 days is 9 months...then a day and an half is somewhat accurate.

Mine seems to take forever, too. The first pregnancy was four days, and this one is going on the third and hasn't happened yet. Maybe it depends on the pet or is random, or something? I looked it up in the manual thingy, and it said "...will eventually give birth to a litter". That was just a little frustrating.

Ok, today I had the problem with going on 4 days and no litter.

What happened is...I'd added another person to the familyand then moved them all out....
There were enough empty slots to have a kitty in....but I think the changing of people during pregnancy messed up something. So I spawned the INSIM and clicked restore family and *instantly* she gave birth to 4 kittens.

Which is actually more than there were slots available.


Try restoring the family. Might set it right.

Eh... when I had my cat have kittens, it only took like a few sim hourse from the WooHoo'ing till she got her kitten.

I have no hacks by the way (removed them all) - I was kinda surprised it happened so fast. :D

Im not too sure about his but so far mine have taken about 3 1/2 days. Maybe it has something to do with the number of puppies/kittens in the litter.

Ah could be something like that Sims2rox4eva, i played the Katt family and they had two litters which took about 3days, so maybe ill play my pointers family just one more day, i reckon i had some sort of hack in when she got pregnant and took it out during her pregnancy so i think maybe somehow that caused her to get stuck but ill give her another play to make sure

i think it's random. my kitty got pregnant and never showed for like 3 days. i was about to give up and take out all my hacks when i suddenly got a screen saying "there's TWO new babies on the way."

I had my dog get pregnant and she had 3 puppies within 2 days. Actually I think it was a little less than 2 days.

This happened to me too.
I had one guy (Donald, son of Dina Caliente and Mortimer Goth), who had a black and tan hound and a Shiba Inu. They bred and had absolutely adorable puppies within like 1 day (maybe more but it seemed awful fast).

Now I have another family (some of Brandi Broke's kids) who have a couple of mutts and they tried for babies, were successful, complete with music, and it's been 4 days but no pups.

I have three Sims in the house and then the 2 dogs. I also have absolutely no hacks or custom content (my sim-playing computer doesnt even have internet, so no chance of hacks interfering ever, ever).

I have had two seperate households have babies. One was the Maxis Kat family and one was the other Maxis family with the one guy and dog (can't remember his name). Anyway, they had a litter of 3 cats and a litter of 3 dogs and both pregnancies took 3 days. Hmm...

i've had 6 pregnancies and they have tended to be around 2 days (sometimes a few hours longer, esp for dogs). This includes 4 dog pregnancies and 2 cat pregnancies. The offspring have ranged from 1 to 4. I'm playing with only one hack--the larger families, aka lot full of sims, by Doc Doofus (I think that's the guy). The only time the pregnancy lasted more than a few hours over 2 days was when the mom dog went to work and came back with many give birth actions in her cue and ended up stepping out the car and immediately dropping down to give birth. The first dog pregnancy was closer to a day and a half.
Although most of these pregnancies happened with only one family. I'll have to try it in different lots and different neighborhoods. I don't know why, but maybe that's the reason for all these different times. Or perhaps, every game is unique in some way and that flavors this. It's a real connundrum that people are having different pregnancy lengths, since we've all had approx. 3 day preg length with Sim people.

I have one dog pregnancy that's been going on for about three and a half WEEKS. I've forced errors, I've moved lots, I've removed all CC, she had a pet job but keps saying she couldn't go for being pregnant, and eventually got fired but never gave birth, I've turned aging on, turned aging off, deleted the dog and exited the lot to respawn her, litereally everything I could think of and she still hasn't given birth, in the time she's been pregnant I have had other dogs and cats sucessfully have litters (all pregnancies seemed to be within a few hours of 2 days).

Slightly off topic but every time my dogs try to sleep on their bed or house they get like kicked out. I mean they will lay down for 5 seconds and then they like float off of the bed or out of the house. I have Insim, so I removed it. Do you think that might be why?

lol Ok works, I took out Dizzy's Light hack, Colorenabler, and Risky woohoo pregnancy tuning... or something like that lol
