Maxis shouldve added more pets to this EP

Actually, there are four: dogs, cats, birds, and Womrats. ;) There are also wolves and skunks.

Even though i have just posted saying how much I like the pets expansion, I must agree that there is a lack of pets, ( Sims 1 unleashed had more pets,) perhaps once people have started customising objects we might get more to play with.

There already is a fish tank. Fish are so dull. I don't understand.

IIRC, while Unleashed had reptiles, you couldn't do much with them.

If they added more pets, they might've done them very simply. Then everyone would say, "Well I have a snake, and I can do this with it, but how come you can't do it in the game?" That already happens with the pets that already are in the game. "How come cats can't do this?"

Or maybe they'll do it very extensively. Then people will complain about the game being slow for whatever reason, or that they're doing it wrong. "That's not how you do that with a rabbit." People do this as well with what is already present. "Who throws their cat in the air?"

Not that people don't already tell them all the time that they're doing it wrong anyway.

I always wanted ferrets since Unleashed,I miss the parakeet & Love birds,& the turtle oh yea & the little goldfish bowl I gavethose to the kids I wish they had a betta bowl

Well you can never please everyone and the fish are boring. I still think they should've had more pets like a snake wouldn't have that much to do and still be reasonable amount for a snake. They could just put them round their shoulders or put it on the floor and charm it so its got similar amount of options as the hamaster.

I loved the giant aviary on Sims1 pets, I wish they could bring that back and you could put LOADS of parrots in. (Well, at least more than one.)

Well iguanas and rabbits would've been cool, but I fear they would pretty much be like the guina pigs and parrots, they just sit around and eat endlessly. Some things are just cooler in real life ;)

The fish really are boring - I cant even see my fish (and please don't give me a wiki link - I know we have problems).

I'm extremely pleased with the bird - that they will fly around and even fly outside - it's so cool. The womrats dissapoint me - you cant do anythign with them and when you set them free - I thought they would run around the house and do stuff - but they would just run away :/


Snakes and farrets, rabbits and mice - now those would have been nice additions.

I have to admit owning Fish, Birds or a Womrat is a complete waste of energy and time.

They get dirty within the hour, and only takes 1 and half days for them to die if you forget to feed them.

Womrats are really annoying. If I really like a child Sim then on their birthday to child age then they get given a present by their parents (the Seasons interaction) - a womrat or a bird cage (depends on how rich the family are). However, I tend to let them die. Far too annoying when it comes to feeding them like every 4 Sim hours.

Sorry to hijack the topic, but I feel it's vaguely on topic. I would love to make clones of the Womrat and Bird "objects" to make other kinds of birds (and maybe make their hunger decay slower ;)), but I don't know how. ...If someone could show me the way to clone a Maxis object (or at least point in a general direction), I know I could do this.

Otherwise, read the tutorials on the Create section of MTS2. You'll find all the information you could ever need about how to do create objects, or anything.

Trust me, I had one for a year. We fed him, he swam, and then my brother grabbed him out of the tank and he died. That was the last we saw of Mr. Fishy.

I had this big feirce guppy, and my freind had a stunted trout. we trained them to synchronized swim in a bath tub. Was bloody awesome. Never had another fish that smart though.

Ha ha, FurryPanda, I watched a video on Youtube about synchronized fish swimmers once.

I had two fish in my life: a goldfish and a Japanese fighting fish. I loved my fighting fish, it was so beautiful and colorful. I got my goldfish when I was 5, and...aargh! Back on topic! XD

I don't have the Pets EP, but I wish I had it. Dogs and cats sound fun! :D

Just remember, The pets EP is already slow and too glitchy enough, if EAxis added MORE pets, it would be even slower and non-playable.

Agreed cwoods977. The Pets Expansion KILLED my computer. But, now that I have a new computer, more animals would be awesome. And you could breed little animals and sell them in your shop if you had OFB. That would be cool!

I think there should've been a reptile or something in a tank other than fish. Something small like a turtle would have been nice.

i wanted a rabbit on the sims
yeah, people have said "it would be the same as a wormrat".
but i think they could of done it where it has to stay in its cage outside or pay the obedience[sp?] trainer to train it as indoor rabbit. and like there's a rabbit run you can buy & they can play in and like feed it carrots from the frigde.
but i'm happy with the pets maxis have made us anyway.

I actually miss some of the skills from Sims 1. Hunting!Obidience is the sociality and housebreaking both cats and dogs have them. Tricks you learned commends but I wish they'd put hunting and maybe mice in the crops(seasons) so the cats can hunt them like in sims 1!

Well, you could build a "special room" to look like an aviary then simply place a lot of parrot cages in it. If you can find a modified "invisible" cage that would help with the effect. Maybe greenhouse style glass walls and door?

Even though it was non-interactive as compared with the parrot, I wish they would have included the parakeet aviary on the Pets EP too.

I would have liked an abyssinian womrat option as well(the cute curly haired guinea pigs).

Oh well, can't have it all I guess.
