My family gets cold to the point of freezing while they're in the house; I have a roof and everything, the house was downloaded. Both of my toddlers were taken away >:[ Is it a glitch or something?

I'd check the roofs sometimes when houses are made or there's a new addition put onto the house sometimes redoing the roof is forgotten, I've done that and have had sims getting rained on.

yea sometimes to if you think you just have a flat roof the creater just did plain floor tile which some times isnt considered a roof in my game (though some times it is weird)
and ive noticed if you have a flat roof then stick one of the under ground hot tub that area is no longer considered roof either

Light a fire and and then there will be a option "warm self up"that should warm them up.

I have build many houses since Seasons with flat roofs, using plain normal floortiles. They never made my sims freeze from cold.

I have a house that is all roofed, but in the hallway the family puts their coats on to walk through the hall. I don't know why, I figure there is a gap in the roof even though you can't see it upon inspection. Likely because I built the roof using angle cheats...

Sometimes the game thinks there's a gap even if there isn't. This happens especially when you are trying some tricky roof setup. The game isn't perfect that way. I've had to fix my roofs by adding flat roofs inside them a few times. Oh and it can happen with diagonal walls sometimes. I have such wall and sims sometimes just walk through it like it wasn't there. Oddly enough, the game still considers that room to be indoors.

Maybe there's a gap in the wall? It could be behind a bookcase or something? Unlikely but possible. Do a top-down view and have a close look around.
Diagonal walls are wierd. My Sim's have a habit of walking through them. Daily.

Diagonal walls with windows especially, it seems. My ethereal diagonal wall has a window on it too.

I've got a downloaded house I had been using for ages and when I got Seasons I noticed them putting on their coats in certain rooms. I removed the roof and clicked the 'auto roof' option to put it back and that solved the problem. The roof did not look as good as the old one unfortunately but I kept it because my Sims were then warm inside.
