Bon Voyage arrived this morning....

So I go to the mailbox hoping and praying for a miracle and there it was.... Bon Voyage!

But...... I will not be able to play for another hour or so, as I am sick as a dog , but still have to take my Dog for a walk!!! So I will tell you quickly what the contents are
: A single DVD disk. There is a booklet with all the Sims games inside and quizzes .....it lists all the games and formats from Sims 1 and 2.

Then of course there is the game booklet approx 16 pages long. Mine is longer (3x16) because of the three language thing here. But the German part of the booklet is 16 pages long. Very sparse info. And of course there is the advert for Teen Style Stuff.

And we will have to wait until Spring of 2008 for the next EP!!!! Wow ! I guess it might be a really fantastic one seeing as we have to wait 6 months or more.

Ok guys ......gotta go walk the dog . I will try to come back on later with some pics. But since its already out in Aussie Land and Poland , I think you will be getting info alot quicker than I can put it out! Huggles and Happy Simming! Renee

-WHEN YOU LAUNCH THE GAME , A BOX WILL OPEN ON YOUR DESKTOP WHICH WILL SHOW ALL THE EP'S AND SP'S YOU HAVE. THEN YOU SIMPLY CLICK ON THE PLAY SQUARE TO START THE GAME.

-NEW EA GAMES REGISTERING SYSTEM!!! YOU NOW MUST ALSO GIVE IN YOUR SN# DIRECTLY TO EA GAMES SITE AS WELL!

-TAKES FOREVER TO LOAD THE GAME ON LAPTOP! ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE ALL THE EP^S/SP'S

-PLEASE REMEMBER TO DISABLE ALL CC THE FIRST TIME YOU ENTER THE GAME. YOU CAN ENABLE THEM AFTER A RESTART OF THE GAME.

-I TESTED TO SEE IF THE MONEY CHEAT WORKS ON VACATION!! HAPPY TO SAY IT WORKS!

-MUSIC HAS CHANGED SOME FOR SOME OF THE NEIGBORHOOD LOADING SCREENS. ONE IS A VERY NICE SMOOTHED OUT JAZZ VERSION! LOVING THE NEW MUSIC!!

-WHEN WALKING TO ANOTHER LOT, THE LOADING SCREEN IS THE SAME AS WHEN TAKING TRANSPORTATION. ONLY DIFFERENCE IS IT SAYS "WALKING".

-I HAD A GREAT FIRST VACATION. SO WHEN MY SIM RETURNED HOME SHE GOT THREE VACATION POINTS, WHICH SHE COULD REDEEM FOR THREE DIFFERENT ACTIONS/REACTIONS/SKILL(S) THAT WOULD HELP IN DAILY LIFE.

So thats about it for now. I am trying to visit all the vacation spots so I can make a short video for you all tonight!

No I didn't pre-order. I noticed it was showing up on a game retailers list as available and I called them and asked if I can come in and pick up a copy, they said yes and off I went. I have installed it, but somehow mucked my first vacationing family up so i plan to restart, LOL. But all in all I was shocked to get the game today, a few days early.

Here, Target and Walmart have it up for Thursday the 6th. Target will most likely have it tomorrow night though and therefore, if my hubby lets me, I will be getting it tomorrow. I don't know about the whole hobbies EP. They have been talking about it alot on the BBS and many are saying that it just wouldn't work. I don't think it could compete with the previous ep's if you kwim. Congrats to those that get it early. You lucky ducks. :-)

I love the camping, the tents are just awesome. Have yet to meet Bigfoot, and I like the travelling around by foot instead of cabs. Also, you know have an option to choose 12hr or 24hr clock.

Yes it's in the game options, you just select which one you prefer. If I remember correctly it's on the screen where you select for the graphic options.

I was really surprised when this new registration screen popped up and asked for the sn# for the game. I think you can still play the game without registering it, but it just won't show up on your simpage.

I had to reinstall all my games as well!! New HD on the laptop and just an complete overhaul. But in some ways its a good thing because you can get rid of alot of junk you dont need.

I think my DL's are at about 2gb.

I wanted to make a video for you all, but realized around 3 am my time that since I had reinstalled , I had'nt changed the quality of the video to "best" quality. So the videos look really grainy.

I might go ahead and make one, but I am really debating if I want to put out something that is such bad quality.

Ok guys.......my video totally sucks!!! I forgot to reset the quality settings for video , so the videos are just unusable!!!


But I have to say to all who get this game , you really need an entire day , or more to get through everything and visit everywhere. I played almost the entire day yesterday(inbetween coma like sleeping breaks due to fever!!!) and I still have not seen or done it all on vacation. They might have actually put in too much this time! LOL!


There is just sooo much to do and so little vacation time to do it in! I tried booking into different hotels for 3 days each time. That still was not enough time. There are so many hidden areas and it was really difficult, atleast for me, to find someone to teach me a local dance or hand sign.

One really cool surprise was that a helicopter comes to pick you up for certain tours! That was cool. I also won 1000 simoleons when I tossed a coin in the fountain! But be careful: Sometimes good fortune hurts! Literally!! The Ninja is out of this world and the fire dancer is over the top!

What they have done with the graphics are incredible !!!The ocean looks so beautiful and the hotels are just crazy, especially the Japanese style one.


I am already dreading a wedding I have to sing at on Saturday because I see that as loss of play time! LOL!!!

This is one of the best EP's in my PERSONAL opinion. Pets is pure bunk compared to this and Seasons is just making the grade. EA/Maxis have redeemed themselves in my eyes with this one. You can tell that they really made an effort to give us something new and yet went back to the quality that we where used to from the TS1 series. I for one take my hat off to them!

Hope you all have as much fun playing this as I have had. Ohhhhh.... one more thing.... if your specs for your Laptop/Desktop are barely meeting the requirements....you may have trouble trying to run this one!

I have 2GB RAM and 120 GB HD and a top graphic card on my laptop and I still had a few instances where the game crashed to the desktop.

OMG!!! You guys are gonna love this game!!!

Easiest way to do it is to use alt-tab while you are playing the game to return to desktop, then right click on the task bar and select task manager.
It has a Performance tab how tell you how much physical memory you totally, used and left.
Under processes you can find the sim named Sims2EP5.exe, 5 is the expansion pack number, mine uses 400-500MB during plauy.

I always order from play.com but with seasons i found they messed about with processing and dispatching for so long that i didn;t actually get it until a few days after release. so with BV i decided to go for amazon and even paid £2 postage to get first class delivery. It was supposed to be dispatched today but it wasn't - they haven;t even taken my money yet. So seeing that play are already dispatching i've cancelled my amazon and ordered it from there instead. Knowing my luck it still probably wont be dispatched until friday - but if there is a chance of them sending it tomorrow then i could have it by fri/sat and i suppose i've saved on postage even if i do have to wait a bit longer. i think i'll just stick to play in future though.

This may sound really silly but i pre-orderd the game from play it was posted yesterday, but its being sent to my mums work meaning i wont get it until monday and im that desperate im thinking of going out and buying it and sending the play.com one back is that silly? :(

I know how you feel, August26. The day before and the day of shipping I checked the tracking page about 100 times and with Seas. and I found out Amazon was charging two day shipping instead of one, so I had to wait over the weekend for it because ups doesn't ship weekends and I was so desperate for it, I wanted to run to Gamestop to just buy the copy there - but I ended up waiting for it :P And then I ended up getting the second part - and then I was bored with it in a week. ^^;

BV is almost the same, as I checked the tracking 200 times and checked my mailbox at least 20 times before the office finally let me the "you have a package" note. I was so desperate because the office closes at 4 and my class started at 4 and it takes 15 minutes to walk there, but I couldn't get it out of my head that they might leave the note after I'd leave and I'd have to wait ANOTHER day to get it (and I KNEW it was there, tracking said it was dropped off at 1:27) And then when I got it, I went through a "Ugh, I can't believe I was excited over this... I paid extra shipping this, and I coul've waited til the weekend..." as I was installing it and creating the locations, and sending my first family to the beach, but after sending another family, I'm happy ^^;; I'm so weird~

When I first heard about BV I was totally excited....then as time went on I decided I didnt want to know anything about the game . I wanted it to be a total surprise. And it was! I am so happy that I just allowed myself to cool out and not worry if I would get the game early or if I would find everything that was discussed in the chats. BV is almost the same, as I checked the tracking 200 times and checked my mailbox at least 20 times before the office finally let me the "you have a package" note. I was so desperate because the office closes at 4 and my class started at 4 and it takes 15 minutes to walk there, but I couldn't get it out of my head that they might leave the note after I'd leave and I'd have to wait ANOTHER day to get it (and I KNEW it was there, tracking said it was dropped off at 1:27) And then when I got it, I went through a "Ugh, I can't believe I was excited over this... I paid extra shipping this, and I coul've waited til the weekend..." as I was installing it and creating the locations, and sending my first family to the beach, but after sending another family, I'm happy ^^;; I'm so weird~
No, not so weird. This sounds EXACTLY like something I would do myself. The part in bold is like word-for-word, thought-for-thought my brain process. Now thats weird!

same - it dispatched yesterday so i'm desperately hoping it comes tomorrow or i'll cry. Now i'm back at school and working on Sundays, Saturday is the only day i'll really have time to play it.

I FINALLY recieved my copy 3 days late!! from play.com i usually get it on the day or the day before i was really not happy about that but i hope you have your games both of you coolh5000 and peardrops:)

mine came on mon - i was really hoping it would be sat but i suppose they do ship from Jersey.
I've always play.com a bit hit or miss - sometimes they'll dispatch early - other times they mess around and you get it late.
glad you finally got yours though :)

I finally got mine last weekend at EB (I'm still really happy). Best Buy told me they'd phone me if they got one in, I went back right before going to EB to curiously check, still no Bon Voyage. They never did call me either.

I got mine on Monday (due to the fact that I was out of town when it came on the 5th and only picked it up from my work address on the 10th) and I've only played once so far. But I REALLY like what I've seen so far. :)
