Unwanted Visitors in My apartment

I patched AL so I am not sure if this is the reason I am having unwanted visitors or not. When I first moved in I had the option to introduce to neighbor when I clicked on their apartment doors. So I tried this out. Pretty cool. I tried out knock and invite someone out...both really neat. Now though the NPC's keep walking in and out of my apartment like they own it. I used disallow visitors on my door and they still come in at random times, turn on my TV, play with my dog, etc....any way to make that stop? Does anyone else have unwanted visitors?

Happens to me as well. I wonder if it has anything to do with a hack.

hmm...the only one I have is the modded door for allowing renting of furnished apartments by Carrigan....I just bought AL this past week as a reward for quitting smoking - Day 23 GO ME! I have a few custom objects but have limited myself from hacks - until last night when I got the door hack. Do you have that one?

I have had the option to say good bye...which I tried when I had a visitor - I had two choices - say goodbye to the visitor or say goodbye to everyone...I chose everyone but they still keep coming over - and barging in without knocking.

I'm too lazy to get everything out and see if that helps. It doesn't bug me that much to do that.
Thing i noticed is that it doesn't seem to happen as often if you aren't friends with someone in the same building...

You dont have an option to lock your own door and "allow household only"?

I have that option, but then when I bring someone home from work I forget to unlock it and they sit in the darn hot tub instead of follow me in. Just seems to me I shouldn't have to lock my door to keep my apartment neighbors from walking right in - even with "disallow lot visitors" enabled. (Option on door) I am going to attempt removing Carrigan's door, but I doubt that is the problem as all she did was enable some pie menu options that were already there.

It works for me at least, if you select 'allow household only' and then also 'allow lot visitors' which are different to sims living in other apartments. Kind of like in Pets where you can allow and disallow pets as an option on the door.

I'm having the same problems i have a small 2 bedroom apartment it's a person apartment literally and i spend all day saying good buy to people instead of raising the kid and feeding the dog, now i need to use maxmotives to fix things, I want to shoot who ever at EA/Maxis who thought it was a good idea to let random people enter your home.

I'll try to clear it up.

Allow/Disallow Lot Visitors is ONLY for the sims NOT LIVING on the apartment lot. Meaning your visitor townies or playables from other houses/apartments cannot enter your room if disallow is in effect. Sims living in the same apartment can still enter if the below lock is not set to disallow.

Allow/Disallow Household Only which activates itself automatically the first time you rent the apartment will affect ONLY the sims LIVING on the apartment lot. Meaning your visitor townies or playables from other houses/apartments can enter your room.

Remember that both can be locked at the same time to ensure maximum security from pests and other unwanted beings.

Thanks...that does help...unfortunately it doesn't keep the darn burglar out....LOL Been robbed twice now!

As tikoymann says, the options can work side by side, with setting adjusted to if you want visitors (from work or school for example to come in), neighbours, or, no one at all.


And burglars in apartments, I sooooo panicked when a sim living in the trailer park got robbed. I had an alarm, but the robber managed to escape the police person. I was kind of assuming prior to this that the apartment lots would be kind of like a dorm, and robberies wouldn't happen (well at least in the time I've been playing them), but not so!
