View Full Version : Your Greatest Sim Tragedies!

After the death of one of my Sims, I began thinking of her short life (as she was a NPC) as a Sim as a kind of a tragedy/sad story (if it was real). And then, I wondered, if anyone else had had any terrible events in a Sim of theirs life? And did it end badly? Please feel free to post it as a kind of story.

Here's mine:
Brandi (not Brandi Broke), fell in love with Alexander Goth. They got married, and she moved in. To feel like she really fitted into such a posh house, she started wearing elaborate, expensive dresses, make-up, and styling her hair in intricate styles, and began thinking of herself as a VIP, and changed her name to Brandice. She hired a gardener, but unfortunatly, the gardener, Calista Despret, got trapped and died of hunger near the graveyard, while Brandice was hosting a house party. More on that later.

When her twin sons were born, she named them Lancelot and Lombard, and by this time, the Goth manor had become more posh. She then had a daughter, Henrietta, and some time later, had a son - Mortimer. She was detirmined to preserve the image of the Goth family as 'social royalty'.

With Henrietta, she raised her as an exact (but miniture) copy of herself, all the way to how she dressed. It was Mortimer and Henrietta's birthday on the same day, and following the party Henrietta moved out. However, the day after, and with Mortimer about to attend private school, Brandice Goth reached her golden years. But that very day, she got scared to death by that gardener, Calista Despret.

Edit: The main events did happen on the Sims, but the other parts of it I have added to make it more of a story, and more interesting to read. :) For example, when I updated her appearence the more elaborate hair styles and make-up suited her better, which gave me the idea for her to very posh.

Oh yes, tragedies! I have one:

There once was a girl named Marthe. She fell in love with a guy called Mitch. They got married and lived in a cute cottage in Pleasantview. Marthe deliverd a daughter, Maureen. Soon after Maureen's toddler transition, she had a little sister Melanie.

But Marthe had met a very rich businnes man called (I forgot his name :p) Landgraab. She moved out, taking little Melanie with her. Maureen decided to stay with her poor dad. Marthe got pregnant of Landgraab (although she was close to elderhood and he was a very young adult) and gave birth to a son, Moris.

Mitch had also met a new love, called Laura. She too was way younger and Maureen didn't like her at all. Maureen left for college, right after Laura and her dad announced that she was getting another brother or sister. Laura gave birth to a girl whose name I forgot. When the little girl turned into a toddler, her mother Laura was cheating on Mitch with (the guy who wears a blue polo shirt and lives with his old mother and has a lot of shops :p).

Mitch found out and Laura left him. He was so depressed he neglected his little daughter and she got taken away. Now Mitch is an elder and lives in a trailer. Maureen doesn't want to see him again, Melanie doesn't come very often either and he has only one friend, a street dog.

Well, my tragedy was mostly my fault :banghead:

Thomas and Kate were married and had one daughter, Annie. Then Kate decided she had the hots for the maid, Remington Harris. Kate had a few lapses of infidelity, so Thomas and Kate were blessed with two more daughters, Rachel and Hannah. Thomas thought daughters 2 and 3 were his, and I totally had a soap opera going....

Then one day Remington and Kate were getting busy upstairs and I didn't notice that Thomas had gotten home from work....he was furious, to say the least! He broke up with Kate and I WAS going to have Thomas and Annie move out on their own and leave Kate unemployed with her two daugthers, but Kate walked off the lot after being dumped just as Thomas and Annie were hopping in the taxi to move out....my timing was really bad...I forgot that someone who gets dumped automatically moves out.

So Rachel (child) and Hannah (infant) were left home alone and I had to defenselessly watch as the social worker arrived and took both children. Meanwhile, their father Remington the maid, continued to clean the toilet like nothing was wrong....

My very first family that I made ended in tragedy. Considering that they didn't last very long, they also started in tragedy.

In CAS a made a married couple, Elizabeth and Henry Doran and their little toddler daughter, Amelia. I moved them into a house in Strangetown and Henry got a job in the medical field. Then Elizabeth was cooking toaster pastries and lit a fire. So she and Henry both were burned into a crrisp and poor Amelia is orphaned and still sitting outside because she can't climb the foundation.

Right before the social worker comes to take Amelia away. a window pops up that says "Henry has missed work today. That job performance rating isn't looking so good!"
And I'm like, Aww aren't you nice to the dead guy.

Not so much tragic as stupid, but I like it.

I hate it when pets die. Or when I have to give puppies up for adoption. My heart breaks every single time.

In my old Uglacy family:

Freya was the heir to the Uglacies and determined to bring the best ugly genes to her family. So she was very excited when she met Prof. Garrett at college. Now he was ugly! With a face like a bulldog and lips like a fish, things were looking good for those ugly genes. Freya became pregnant on their honeymoon and things were going swell...until Freya walked in on Garrett bullying her father! She could not let this go on, so she took matters into her own hands...and arranged a little accident in the pool. No one ever found out that she had a hand in his death as she carried the secret (and his tombstone) to the grave!

The very first time I played the base game I created Logan and Rhiannon. I turned off autonomy so I could choose what to do without their interference. Well... I thought the game was just like the one on the PS2 and that you clicked on the crib to feed (they had twins naturally). I kept getting messages to feed them and then I just watched in horror as the social worker came and took the kids. I learned my lesson: leave autonomy on!

More recently, I had a child get too hot from jumping on the bed and, just when I stopped her, the social worker came and took all the kids: two sets of quads.

I have one-
Micheal Charles fell in love the pretty but somewhat geeky Rose. They fell in love quickly and got married. But, one day the pregnant Rose mysteriously died while on the roof... I'm still not sure what happened? Oh well. Micheal got over it quickly, and married Rose's sister three days later.

I had two sims, Terhi and her husband. I also had their life planned for them - she gets to be a highschool teacher and when her career is on track she gets 1 child (boy or girl - doesn't matter). Her husband is much older than her so - while she focuses on the career her husband takes care of the kid. First everything was going on well but then she got pregnant by simple woohoo - first time in three years that this happens. No big deal - then it happens again. And just just for the fun of it - it happens again on the very night her husband decided to make cheascake. Just to play it safe - this woman will not get any action untill she hits menopause. Well it's not a real tragedy - but it was tragic to me. :num:

mines stupidly funny but sad my favorite sim was getting plastic surgery and her face went all funny because of that her aspiration got low so she started snacking in the fridge which made her fat which made her aspiration lower which led to the doctor person coming while she was cooking which led to her leaving something cooking in the oven and burning herself to death lol

Haha these stories are awesome! And I have one of my own to share.

The very first day I got the Sims 2 (base game, day it came out), I spent ages working on a sim couple in CAS. Sadly, I only remember that the girl's name was Maya. Here husband's name has completely escaped me, so we'll just call him Husband, or Hubby. Well, I got the two of them into their house, and I thought that Maya was so beautiful (hah, but now I think she looked entirely too maxis-face-templatey) so I set to work trying to get them to have a baby. Maya became pregnant and I was looking at how many aspiration points she had when I discovered the aspiration reward that lets you put on the helmet and learn skills much more quickly (I don't remember what the object is called because I have never used it again since the tragedy). So while Hubby went off to work that day, I thought Maya might spend some time learning to cook. I got her to put the helmet on, and then I forgot to remove it after she had learned a few skills. So she was walking around the house with the thing on. little did I know that prolonged use of the object could cause death. I was sending Maya for an afternoon nap when she collapsed in the door of her bedroom. I thought perhaps she had fallen asleep (like in sims 1), but her husband had just come home from work as she collapsed, and he ran inside shouting and weeping as sims do. At this time I didn't know you could plead with Old Grim. So Maya died. I was so upset that I left the lot, deleted the family AND the house, and never used the reward objects again (until I realised you can use them safely in platinum and gold mode :P).

I don't think I would react so poorly if a fave simmy died accidentally now, but this was my very first family!

My tragedy happened very recently. I had a married couple named Marylou and Billy Ray Walters. They were very poor. So poor, that they lived in a tent next to a pond. They grew veggies and fished to eat off the land. Well, things were starting to look up for them. Billy Ray got a job(finally)and they were saving money to build a one room house. Well, Marylou got pregnant. It turned into winter, and one morning, Marylou came out of the tent, and died instantly from the cold. So poor Billy Ray lost his wife and baby on the same day. I was so upset that happened.

I had two bad ones this summer. The first is already posted here: about an evil ghost of a dog (http://forums.sims2community.com/showthread.php?t=43126) which terrorized a family.

The second was very sad because I really loved the family. I had this very big 19th century prairie family. On the 3rd generation, they had 8 kids, 7 boys and 1 girl. The girl was betrothed to a lovely gent from another well off family. They moved into this log cabin (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=242386). Since it was a small starter home, but they had many wedding presents, they built an orchard, and made it fabulous. They had planned 2 kids but had 2 singletons and then an accidental pair of twins. The house was getting cramped, they built a cellar to put some extra beds. Then the wife got pregnant with a fifth child (I was trying not to use any cheats in this house, and make it as much like a prairie house in the 19th century as possible). Their resources were spread very thin. The mom's health got very bad and I thought she might lose the baby (which probably would have been better than what happened instead). She ended up giving birth to the baby, but was too sick to bring it upstairs. She decided to cook something, even though there was food already on the table for her. She set it on fire, and they had no fire alarm. Someone rushed to bring the baby outside to save it. In trying to put the fire out, the dad and oldest daughter died. Then so did on of the twins who were about to become teens. Then the mother, the oldest brother, one of the twins and the baby were left. The mother died the next day since her health was even worse after the fire. The brother died of grief and poor health, trying to get the house back in order after everything burnt up. Luckily, the daughter became a teen before the mother died, and she ended up raising the 5th child (also a daughter). They were both pretty messed up after that though. The older sister hated the baby her whole life and eventually got married and forced the little sister to make her own way in the world. She married on of her uncles back at the old farmhouse.

But you know what? Their story ended up being even more interesting than I could have planned for because of this. I like when I just let things happen sometimes. Though I did end up getting them a fire alarm, since they couldn't afford to buy their entire first floor furniture more than one more time.

EDIT: OH and to make matters worse, the last daughter was pretty ugly, while the one that died was gorgeous. That's one of the reasons the older surviving sister made the younger one move out. She didn't want her to mess up her chances with her new beautiful husband and family.

Sometimes I'm quite happy to let a Sim die if it makes playing the family more interesting.
But in this case, I was not...

Titania and Oberon had not long got married, but one day I discovered that Titania and Romeo had the hots for each other. Naturally Titania invited Romeo (who was married to Juliet) over for a make-out session. But Oberon came home from work early and caught them, and broke up with Titania (by this point Puck had moved out and Bottom (renamed Arlene) saw them break up.

Titania moved out into a home by herself, and missed her children. So she decided to adopt.
The day before her little 'un arrived she threw a party. Romeo was one of those invited. They were WooHooin when Juliet saw them and ran off the lot crying, and surprise surprise Titania got pregnant.

Well, Romeo and the others left soon after that.
The next day a little toddler called Tara arrived, and Titania got her bump.
She was probably the hardest pregnancy for me to handle. She was a single parent, with a toddler, and her hunger and energy meters were almost always down. And she was poor as well.

Her hunger and energy were almost down the lowest, and she kept falling asleep so she couldn't eat. Here is where I was forced to cheat to save Tara from being taken away and her unborn baby - I refreshed her moods. Only time I've ever intervened like that.

Now Romeo and Titania are married (after Juliet, who is pregnant with her 2nd kid with Romeo dumped him) and Titania gave birth to a girl, Roselyn.

However, I am planning for tragedy to strike... keep watching this space. ;)
(my first planned tragedy).

This one's not as sad as some of the others, but it's sad to me!

My legacy founder had five children: three boys and two girls. One of these children, Tyler, was a very hard-working, serious money sim who was also very handsome. He was quite a catch, but he watched all his siblings find love and he had no special someone in his life. Since he wasn't going to be my heir, I decided to make him one! She was also a money Sim, and the two seemed perfect for each other. Before she could meet her destined lover, however, she met Malcolm Landgraab, and since she liked him so much I relented and let her marry the guy. I didn't play her much after that, since her husband was a self-centered jerk and the two had a sort of distant relationship.

Meanwhile, I made another girl for Tyler, Min, and after some coaxing the two got together. He finished school with wonderful grades, but Min dropped out of school so that they could get married. She'd been doing very well in school, so she always sort of regretted dropping out. Instead of a great education and career, she's spent her life popping out babies.

One day, I was playing Tyler and his wife Min when Carolyn, the girl I'd originally made for him, walked down the street. Tyler said hello to her, and immediately the two had a connection: three chemistry bolts, more than either one had with their spouse! They talked for a long time about anything and everything, and the two got along perfectly. After a while, though, Tyler had to go back inside to tend to his crying baby, and Carolyn walked off down the street, headed back to her big empty house (Malcolm didn't want children) and her unfulfilling marriage.

So they both have relatively happy lives, but I think it's still a tragedy. They were perfect for each other, but they didn't meet until it was too late. :(

I have one Naomi A beautiful wealthy housewife life was perfect. She had a beautiful daughter doing well in school her husband had just been promoted and she was expecting. It was early in her pregnancy and the housework kept piling up because she fired her annoyingly ineffective maid.So she started doing it herself. Later that week she started feeling sic and ended up losing her baby and ended up depressed because of it causing the doctor to come and her marriage may fall apart if she doesn't get her act together.

A long time ago, on another computer, Daniel Pleasant got Kaylynn (sp?) Langerak pregnant, she then moved out to a very small house on the edge of town. Daniel patched things up with his wife and they had another set of girl twins, while fully aware that he was ignoring his other daughter by Kaylynn. He did see her twice, once as a baby and once as a toddler but made no other effort than those two times.

His former mistress finally got the clue and began to date a former co-worker (I forget his name). It got serious and she asked him to move in. They were saving up money to properly build her daughter a bedroom, and another bedroom for their child that was on the way. She had gotten done with throwing-up for that morning when suddenly she feel to the ground, curled up in a ball and the Grim Reaper came to get her. Her fiance begged for her life, but it wasn't enough. Kaylynn died, leaving her daughter to be raised by her would-be-husband and a nanny.

I still don't know what caused her to die. The only thing low on her motives was hygiene, and that wasn't even red.

Thats really sad :(

Very similar to my game though. Kaylynn got pregnant by Daniel Pleasant, and she moved in with them briefly so she could move out and lived near where Don Lothario lives. She had twins - a boy and a girl, and the girl, Kathryn, looked a LOT like Angela, and everyone knew who the father of Kathryn and Kieran were. Unfortunatly, Kaylynn died in a fire so missed Kieran's wedding which took place the next day.

Well... my neighborhoods are totally messed up any way but I think this can be called and actual tragedy.
Tragedy of the Goth and Lothlario (or whatever... I can't spell) families that is:

Everything started from the beautiful wedding of Don and Cassandra Goth. Cassandra was really happy and thought their marriage was a good one but in reality Don was cheating on her all the time with Nina and Dina Caliente, Vivica DeMornay, Veronica Landers and the maid. Not knowing any of this, Cassandra wanted to have a child and they got a baby girl; Giselle. Cassandra's younger brother Alexander was now a teen and going to private school.

One day Mortimer suddenly died by some freak accident and Alexander, who had an illness, soon followed him. Now there was only Cassandra, Don and their daughter leaving in the house.

Don immediately started going nuts because the family life really didn’t suit him and the dating of his lovers started to get hard. Luckily for him, Cassandra got a job so he had plenty of time to make out with other women.
But one evening when Cassandra came back home from work, she caught him having a good time on the sofa with Nina Caliente. Cassandra immediately divorced and kicked Don out of their house. Giselle and her father remained as friends although she too was pissed off.

Don wasn’t a least bit bothered by this; he now lived alone and he still had plenty of women to have fun with. But to his surprise Vivica had actually gotten married and wanted to dump him. Don was really angry and he had some really big fights with Vivica and her husband Anthony.
Don still continued dating his other lovers and managed to make Veronica pregnant. They had a boy, Victor, but Don never met his son because Veronica caught him cheating and didn’t allow him to visit her home. At the same time Don also managed to piss off Nina and Dina by his cheating and only the maid remained as his lover. Dina found better love interest and Nina just wanted to make Don’s life miserable by teasing and insulting him every time they met.

At the same time Gordon Haag the vampire was starting to get interested about the house of Goth’s. He really didn’t like the house he was now living in with his daughters. So one day he invited Cassandra over and killed her by biting her. Giselle, who was now a child, got taken by a social worker. This meant that now their house was empty and free to buy.

Giselle later got adopted by Darren Rush and after she grew up to an adult she fell in love with Gordon’s son Louis. They got married and had a son. She also befriended Gordon, not knowing any of his doings, and was secretly blaming her father of all the misfortune her mother had to endure.
So one evening she invited Don and Gordon over and asked if the vampire could kill her father. He happily agreed. Giselle didn’t react in any way to her father’s death although they still were good friends O_o

Later Giselle started secretly dating Darius Lee, a married man who she was more attracted to. Gordon noticed her doings and beat her up and that was the end of their friendship. Soon after that Louis and their son found out about this. Now her son hates her and she and Louis are having regular fights. Louis still hasn’t divorced. He’s now pondering should he kick her out, revive their relationship or just buy a gun and… yeah…

Yup. That’s probably the biggest tragedy yet XDDDD.

xD That's quite a good tragedy but what I like is that it still hasn't finished yet and has continued down the ages. The only one I've ever had like that is also a Goth one...

Alexander inherited the house after Cassy got a place of her own. However, after the death of Mortimer of old age and Dina's death shortly after of depression, poor Alex had to raise Clarabelle and Christopher - Mortimer and Dina's twin children.
Several years on, and Clarabelle and Christopher were children. Alex's job was going well, and he met and married Brandi LeTourneau. She changed her name to Brandice, and she was once sporty - but now became very feminine and wore elegant gowns and intricate hairstyles even around the house.

They had twin sons - named Lombard and Lancelot. Clarabelle and Christopher moved out around the time Lombard and Lancelot started going to school.
Brandice saw how focused Alex was on his job so she took the oppourtunity to do things her way.
Brandice did not like her step-brother-in-law Christopher - he became a werewolf when he was only a teen (imagine what the neighbours thought!) so he recieved no inheritance. He is now living with Brandi Broke with several children in a poor run-down part of town.
However, Brandice liked Clarabelle - she got married to a nice young man and had two beautiful daughters that Brandice adored and was always coming to visit. So Clarabelle and her family recieved money to spend on a beautiful home [see my creations on MTS2 - their home is called Growing family - Cosy Home].

Brandice and Alex had 2 more children - Henrietta and Mortimer.
Brandice lavished all her attention on Henrietta, and her eldest sons Lombard and Lancelot rejected her as a mother. Lombard became a problem child - and as an adult had a failed marriage which lasted only a few days and left him a single parent, so Brandice disowned him. Lancelot just hid himself away and never talked to Brandice again.

Well, to wrap it all up Henrietta, the golden child, has had 2 failed marriages and has loads of kids in a fancy looking house, Lombard is now happily re-married and he and his new wife love the son from his previous marriage. Lancelot, who did get his inheritance in the end (as did Lombard - after Brandice died and Alex became the head again) is now a rich scientist. Young Mortimer, who Brandice also ignored, got a degree with the highest honours in art and is looking for a career. Alex quickly forgot about Brandice and is now much more happily re-married. [For the full tragedy of Brandice see the first post for this thread].

Hmmm, well in Shinyville... King Johndude and Queen PK were happily running their country when one of Johndude's mistresses, Alice, became close to Johndude and convinced him to kill his wife, allowing them to get married. Unfortunately, Johndude realized PK was pregnant. So, because Alice couldn't have children and she needed an heir, they locked her up in the dungeon for nine months until the baby was born. Then, a baby in hand, Alice murdered PK and married Johndude, becoming queen. Johndude mysteriously died in his sleep that evening and Alice became the sole monarch of a country in the dark ages.

I have a poor family living in Downtown, and the mother really struggled to stay alive because her hunger kept going down so much and really quickly too. I always find it harder with the poor families to keep everyone happy when they have kids, and harder with city families because they don't have lakes so can't get fish to make super-good meals. I might move that family to Riverblossom Hills, it'll be nicer for them.

Okay.. the tragedy of Goth and Lothlario families (http://forums.sims2community.com/showpost.php?p=1046691&postcount=28) families has come to an end.

Louis finally got enough of his wife, buyed an assault rifle and shot her. He laughed at her death but then seemed to realize what he had just done because he started going nuts. Their son Caleb didn't seem to mind a bit about the whole incident.

After recovering from his shock, Louis decided he was never going to get married again. This was his second marriage which ended badly. His first wife Caroline fell in love with his ex best friend and Louis was left alone with their adopted son Tyler (who's now dead). Needless to say he was overjoyed when he heard Caroline had died in a fire soon after her new marriage.

Soon after the whole assault rifle incident, Miranda moved into the neighborhood. She befriended Louis and despite his reluctanse to fall in love again, suddenly decided to give him a romantic hug. (She did it without any kind of permission . They hadn't even checked each other out or anything.) They fell in love and are dating a lot. They aren't planning to get married because of Louis' bad experiences and Miranda is just fine with that.

I had a family - husband Lombard, a wife who I can't remember the name of (so let's call her Mel) and their daughter who was a child at the time, June.

Anywho, Lombard discovered that he was bisexual and started making out with his male best friend, a NPC he met at work. Meanwhile, unknown to Lombard Mel had come home from work, and as she was going up the driveway she changed into maternity wear. She found Lombard in the arms of a bloke, when he was supposed to be taking June out bowling, so she broke up with him and banished him from the house.

A few days later, Mel was struggling to raise a baby boy, go to work and take care of June. Eventually she couldn't afford to pay for the nanny on her poor salary and long working hours, so she decided to start her own business. However, at the moment she sells shrubs/flowerbeds and flower arrangements she has made herself from her back garden. Currently however, the business is failing and June is now a teenager being homeschooled and spends much of her time looking after her baby brother.

If only Lombard did not turn out to like men.

I made a three generation sim family and put them in one house. There was the grandmother, her daughter, her daughters husband, and three children. I had planned to put a spin on things and so the parents went to the bank one day and got shot and killed. After that there was just the grandmother and the tree children, one was still a toddler. One day when the two children were at school the grandmother died outside accidentally in a shrub fire and social services came for the little child. When the oldest girl turned into a teen I had her adopt her sister back with a hack.Unfortunately the childs memory was erased and she thought the sister was her mother.

I had made this couple named Hector and Priscilla Morgan. After a few days she had a son named Reese Morgan, and then later on when Reese was 2 days away from becoming a child she gave birth to twins Jeff and Delanie Morgan. Now that the family is explained, On this particular day it was Reese's birthday and he grew up to a handsome young boy with ugly clothes. So I decided to have him and Priscilla go and buy him some clothes. They got in the car and the optio of which store to go to came up and I chose The BV General Store. Then the car backed out of the driveway and they never came back. I don't know what happened to them. They missed the twins growing up to become toddlers and everything.

Where are you getting all these guns?

My story isn't that tragic but...

About a month ago I played as the Goth family (I hd to uninstall my game because of problems). I played for a little while and then decided to have Don and Cassandera married. I threw a big wedding party, bought a ridiculous amount of party items and clicked "Get Married" on the arch.

Unfortunately, Don was afraid of commitment and left Cassandera at the alter. Cassandera went into depression and walked into the house. I tried to think how I could fix it, so I got an idea.

I used the Insiminator to make them have a mutal love with each other (Yes, I cheated). I used the Insiminator again to make Darren selectable and have Darren propose to Cassandera. As soon as I selected him, Cassandera started a fire with the oven and ended up dieing because I had removed all of the fire alarms (I don't remember why). Darren failed at saving her from death and his aspiration went into red.

The next day, Alexander went to school and his grades began to plummet. Mortimer got ill and several days later died of disease. At this point Alexander was completely insane and I decided to put him out of his misery by using the Warrior Sword on MTS2 to commit suicide.

I began playing the Dreamer family and Darren nearly got fired for bad job preformance. Dirk and Darren had several arguements and bad conversations and eventually started disliking each other. I completely ignored Darren's needs and he ended up dieing of starvation. Despite disliking his father, Dirk still had a fear of him dieing., which ended up sending him into red aspiration.

Dirk began to hand out with the Pleasents more and accidentally got a crsuh on Angela. One day, Lilith AND Dustim caught Dirk flirting/cheating with Angela and all of them broke up. Lilith became enemies with Dirk. I didn't care to see how that affected the Broke family.

So basically Don set off a chain reaction which completely destroyed most of Pleasentview. I got angry and downloaded buyable fire, then set Don's entire lot on fire.

O.K. I may heve helped the demise along a bit, but most of it was Don's fault..... I promise.

After that I uninstalled the game again, and decided to start a new Pleasentview.

The lovey Lenore Rose had recently married her high school sweet heart Loki Lyon and just given birth to a lovely daughter, when the household ghost decided to pop out and give the hungry mommy a scare. She died right in front of her newborn. But the sad scene was actually very funny because her radio was on and blaring the Ghostbusters' theme. Right on the line "I ain't afraid of no ghost," she fell to the ground. Ha ha ha!

This story consists of a husband (Lucas) a Wife (Trisha) and their two children (Mikey, Allison)

On a cold winter day just after Lucas had woken up, he knew what devistating events that would follow that day. The previous day he had found out that one of his "friends with bennefits" was pregnant with his child. He knew that he was much to young to deal with the circumstance, and he was much to wild to settle down and raise a child.

Lucas was the type of guy that could be well in his 60's and still be juggeling around 5 different women. Having a baby would just force him to loose his mojo with the ladies. In his mind he knew that Trisha's mom would contact his mother and let her know about the whole ordeal and in the end he would end up engaged to a girl he didn't even like.

He sluggishly packed his school bag for school and headed off to what would seem like the worst day of his life. Being only 16 years old he knew that he had no money for Trisha to get a secret abortion and save him from years of pain, so he held his breath as he walked up to the school building and to the area where Trisha usualy hung out.

In her eyes she was glowing and his stomach dropped to the bottom of an endless pit. She was carrying his baby and he knew there was no way to go back and change time, so he slowly walked up to her got on one knee and pulled out a cheep 50 cent ring from the back of his pocket and stuttered in torment "Trisha will you marry me?" Being the perfect priss that she was, she accepted the ring and they were to be married shortly before the baby was born.

8 1/2 months later.

Trisha is now almost due in about three weeks and Lucas is preparing what's 'supposed' to be the "happiest day of his life". His mother can't stop crying and her mother can't stop complaining. Lucas walked slowly down the isle that would remain etched in his memory for the rest of his life. "How could one night of pleasure bring him a lifetime of regret?" There were so many thoughts running through his mind, that the night before he was contemplating suicide and getting out of the whole ordeal.

When Trisha slowly walks down the isle Lucas gives her a look of disgust and tries not to make any more eye contact. Trisha's eyes begin to fill up with tears and Lucas isn't sure if they're from his look or from happiness, but whatever it was he prayed that she would stop.

Hours later it was all over, they were married and she still had a bun in the oven waiting to come out any day now. Lucas just wished she had gained tons of weight, and he could end this whole thing in a slightly messy divorce. But in this world everything was to good to be true.

2 Weeks Later

A week and a half before Trisha's 16th birthday she gave birth to a pair of bouncing twins, a boy and a girl. Lucas wanting nothing to do with them claimed that Trisha was going to have to name them or they shall not get names at all. Trisha upset about the whole thing, decided to name them after her grandmother Allison, and her recently deceased brother Mikey. To her this was the best day of her life, but to Lucas this was the welcoming to hell.

Lucas and Trisha both had to drop out of school to take care of the twins, since Lucas' parents were no help in the matter making it difficult for them to make ends meet. Deprived of his other "girlfriends" for a fear that they to might end up pregnant, Lucas buried his troubles in work trying to avoid Trisha as much as he could.

4 years Later

Lucas is in a dead end job, but there's one advantage to it. Sure he may not be able to drink quite yet, but the ladies that come by his job everyday make it all worth while. You see Lucas got a job as a Store Clerk at a Female store. He managed to persuade his boss to let him work in the "lingere" department, and when he heard the news that he was going to work there a grin slipped across his face.

Almost every other week Lucas was with a new woman, hiding in the dressing room and when his boss would question he would just say that he was helping with 'zippers' and it was just waved off.

Eventually Trisha found out about his little "romances" and had to put an end to it. Who knows how many other women he had gotten pregnant, and wasn't supporting their children, hell he barely even supported their children. So one day she decided to go to his work and see what he actually did.

Minutes upon arriving she saw him sneak into a dressing room with a trashy looking woman and then the booth started to shake. She instantly ran up to the dressing room ripped down the curtain and saw Lucas with the other woman. Instantly she stormed out of the store and sped at 100 MPH just to get home and pack her stuff.

When she arrived home she was stunned to notice that Lucas had beaten her there. He had a wicked grin on his face, she percautiously walked past him until he snatched her arm and thew her to the ground. She could smell the other woman on him as he whispered "This whole thing between me and you was an accident I should have ended a long time ago." as he suddenly threw her into the trunk of his car and drove it off the end of a cliff ending both his and her lives.

The sad part is, is that the woman he last went into the dressing room was Trish's sister and she was left to take care of the twins, and eventually she discovered that her simple 5 minutes with Lucas, led to her first and last pregnancy.

Whoo that was almost a whole novel. lol

In the first post (I think) I had the tragedy of Brandice Goth. Well here is the tales of 4 other members of the Goth family, who were all mentioned in Brandice's story but deserve a little bit on their own. The Goth family are not very lucky.

Alexander (Alex) Goth

Alexander did very well in private school as a child, and excelled with A*. He missed out on going to University in his teen years, however, and this is the story why...

When Dina and Mortimer married, they had twins - Christopher and Clarabelle. However, Dina died young (more on that later) a few days after Mortimer. This left Alex to raise his step brother and sister during his teenage years by himself.

Chris and Clara were teens when Alex married his first wife, Brandi, who changed her name to Brandice. They had 4 children - Lombard&Lancelot, Henrietta, and Mortimer. However, on Brandice's birthday as an elder, she got scared to death by a gardener who she hired and who then died when the stupid gardener got trapped.

Anyway, by this time Chris and Clara had moved out, and so had Lombard and Lancelot (a bit of their story in Brandice's tragedy) and Henrietta had moved out on the night of her mother's death. Alex was left with his youngest child, Mortimer, so he hired a nanny and concentrated on his career, eventually fulfilling his life dream as a Criminal Mastermind.

He ended up marrying the nanny, and they adopted a son called Holden together, as they were both elders. Yet I think that Alex and the nanny have split up now, as Kendal is in the family bin. Alex is now very very old, and has never had a simple life.

Dina Goth

Very short this. Mortimer and Dina married, and they had Christopher and Clarabelle. However, of a mixture of coping with Mortimer's death, low hunger levels, tiredness and twin babies, Dina died young but still beautiful. She never saw Nina or Don after she got married. It is rumoured that the real reason she died was that she accidently ate the poison she used to kill Mortimer.

Henrietta Goth

Henrietta was Brandice Goth's favourite child. Lombard was a failure who ended up a single parent, Lancelot has always kept to himself and lived in a very small bungalow, so Henrietta was always the apple in Brandice's eyes.

Henrietta grow up acting and dressing like an exact miniture of her mother, and wanting to please her mother, she got engaged to a "very handsome chap" who was the bartender at her birthday party. Unfortunatly, her mother died before the wedding.

Henrietta had twins with her new husband, (forgotten the husband and the children's names, so the husband is now called Dave and the kids are boy and girl). Unfortunatly, Dave cheated on her leaving her publically humiliated (she loved the whole 'domestic bliss' thing and never wanted a job). She then married the maid in a desperate attempt to save her from social suicide, but she is now being cuckolded again as he is having an affair with another woman. The boy and girl are doing fine, and are blissfully unaware of everything and have started school.

Lombard Goth

Lombard always felt in the shadow of his twin, Lancelot. While he was good with the ladies, Lancelot was good with books and general 'Goth' traditions. However, when his sister reached childhood Lombard noticed that Brandice, his mother, would tell Henrietta that she would always be proud of her, as long as she had a good husband and well-mannered children.

Lombard was not very smart, so he decided a good thing to do would be to have a family to please his mother instead of an academical career. So he got engaged to his girlfriend Jayne Caliente, and let me just say she is a mixture of Nina and Don put together and multiplied by 6. She is their daughter too.

Well, both Lombard and Jayne had at least 2 affairs each, as it was not a happy marriage. Lombard ended up a single parent with his son Liam and his mother disowned him, and his mother (Brandice) died before she could see that he now had a successful job, a faithful wife, and his son was doing very well in school.

So many to choose from...

Had a family, Mother: Amy Father: Alan and two sons, a teen : Jerrik and a baby Jaythan.

Well they werent doing well money wise, only the Alan was working and he was a convience store clerk. One night when Jerrik and Jaythan were sleeping Alan tryed to make a tv dinner and set the kitchen on fire. Alan and Amy tried to put it out but both died in the proccess. The fire burned everything in their kitchen/ living room.
Jerrik and Jaythan are all alone at this point. No relatives left living in their whole family except them.
They quickly run out of money buying a fridge and a microwave for food.
Jaythan ages to a toddler and by now Jerrik is failing school and has no money for a nanny. Finaly they had to sell the microwave and counter so they would have money for a nanny and Jerrik can go to school and find a job to get some money.

I needed my sim to have high body points for a contest over at S2S. So, I put her in a small room with some exercise equipment, made her run on the treadmill, and then I set the time to fast forward. Nothing seems wrong, right? Well...then, the treadmill all of a sudden caught fire, and she caught fire...and she died. Not too good, huh?? I probably shouldve just used a cheat. :)

I don't usually make elaborate storylines - too much work and I'm great at messing things up, but this one was my favorite, it does involve tragedy:

Laura and Jake were married and Jake was a romance sim. They had one daughter, Penelope and Laura was pregnant again.
Jake then cheated on Laura with another woman from the block (who was also married)and he got her pregnant as well. Laura didn't know about any of this.
One day it was little Penelope's birthday into childhood. Everyone was invited to the party including Jake's pregnant mistress. Then, during the party, Jake and his mistress and their unborn child all burned in a fire in one of the rooms while making out in secret.
Laura was in total shock and hours after, she finally delivered Jake's baby, another girl named Gina, who would never meet her dad.
Laura then got together with the widower of Jake's mistress and he moved in. They had a child together, Oscar, and they got married eventually and live happily with three kids :D

This is my sim tragedy...
It still doesn't have a proper ending...I think I'll put some deaths in this tragedy after I write this :)
The Deviant family moved into my neighborhood...a single mother Eva and her child Shadow
They were a very happy family, but Eva started to like this awful guy who lived next door...
Unfortunately I'm bad at remembering names and I haven't played this family for a while so I can't remember much names from this point o.O
Any way, Eva married this guy and she got pregnant...
Shadow grew up into a beautiful teen (she is still a teen) and she got pregnant too (inteenimator)...
Her mother and stepfather got really angry with her and she had to move out.
She lived in a shack and she eventually gave birth to a beautiful girl that looked just like her...
I think her name is Lolita, but I'm not sure...
Shadow couldn't go to school or work because she didn't want to lose her baby by the social worker and she couldn't afford to hire a nanny...
So she was broke and a lousy student...
When her baby grew up into a toddler she remembered that she had an adult rich friend which could help her.
He told her that she can move in with him into his apartment if she gives birth to his baby and marries him...
So, she was hardly a teen for 6 days and she already had her second child, another girl named Dawn...I think
She got married with this friend, but she doesn't REALLY love him or, unfortunately, her children
Her mother had another child and she lives happily with her husband and doesn't even think about her baby girl and her two grandchildren :'-(...

Tragic...and weird and unexplainable.
Two Sims just vanished one day. Vanished from family trees, memory, everything. Rosa Ciccarelli, mother of five, and Fenris Troldsen, promising young college student and terrorizer of nerds.
Something went dreadfully wrong in the game, and I gave up diagnosing it. So they're gone.
From the Sims' perspective, it had to be some wrinkle in the fabric of space-time which intersected each Sim and removed them from existence: not only in the present, but in the past. They never existed at all (I credit this idea to Sci-fi author Alistair Reynolds.)

weyall....
(and no, i'm not making this up as I go.)

Brandi Broke fell in love with Dina Calinte (yes...ikno.) and they got married, and Dustin hated her because she always treated him bad and they got into fights etc. etc. Then Angela Pleasent moved in, married Dustin, and became pregnate (i have inteen), but Dustin was having an affair with Lilith, and he accidentally got her pregante, and then Angela had her baby, as well as Brandi, and then Lilith moved in (so she would have her baby), and popped out a boy. So then Angela caught Lilith and Dustin whoo-hooin' in the bed, and she flipped and I had them divorce because they wouldn't stop fighting (seriously. it was so annoying) and she left her baby with him (in which that sucked). Lilith got pregnate again, and they got married. Angela's baby grew up to a toddler, and Lilith ended up having twins. But Don Lothario just <i>had</i> to show up (anonymously just popped up) and Brandi caught them making out. Brandi and Dina broke up, and there were literally like 5 kids in the house. and then Brandi and Dustin and Lilith. it was really a full house.

ooooh man it sucked.

My very first neighborhood I had a family that I was really attatched too--the mom's name was Lily Taylor and she had a husband and cute little girl. I didn't have any hacks or cheats and lol to be honest hadn't really read about the things to watch for on keeping my little families happy and healthy-it was all trial and error. Anyway Lily's daughter had just became a teenager when Lily found she had another child on the way. One minute she was cooking n the kitchen and then ran to the bathroom got sick and fainted on the floor. Next thing I knew the grim reaper had come and she was gone-the poor husband and daughter cried so much. Have to admit that really got me--I watch all my expectant mom's really close now and make sure they are healthy and taken care of now.
I had another that wasn't so much of a tragedy but just missing a piece of important information. I had too many families going at once in that same first neighborhood and confused on one othe kids. One of my families had twins. I thought they were twin girls but when they turned into toddlers one for all appearances was a boy. I thought ooops I made a mistake and poor kid is stuck with a girl's name. I was still learning the game and so much of the little things went over my head lol. I didn't realize yet that you could change their appearance in the mirror. Anyway on all my decorating and activities I raised one more boyish and one all out girl...I didn't really change clothes much in the beginning and left them in the clothes they came in (way early in learning to play lol) then when they turned teenagers imagine my surprise when they really were both girls. Poor kids too I was really learning my way and had only had the game a few days and those little twins were constantly cleaning the bathroom, getting lost outside, falling asleep everywhere, doing badly in school, always too tired to get their homework done and so on. Lol come along way since then....

I've tried to starve non-pregnant Sims, but it's never worked.

I had one of my favorite Sims, Kristin Lee, come very close to dying of starvation (while sitting down to eat her lobster thermidor!), but her husband leapt out of the shower and pleaded with the Grim Reaper, naked. And they all lived happily ever after.

I love this thread. XD It's so interesting to read.

I haven't really had too many tragedies, except maybe one, but it was so much of a surprise to me that I wound up laughing at the absurdity of it instead of being upset. I'd just made a wonderful couple (lesbians, I have a lot of gay sims, on purpose), put together their whole house, and was thinking about letting them adopt since they wanted to... their first night there, they went out to stargaze together, it was so sweet... until WAM!

Yes, of course, one of them was killed by a satellite. My first death EVER. I was new to the game then and didn't know you could plead with the Grim Reaper, so I wasn't able to save her, and her wife wound up in aspiration failure for days afterwards, which is the only time I've had that happen. I tend to pay a lot of attention to my Sims' wants and needs so they're almost always platinum and comfortable.

I've never had anyone die of starvation... well, not by accident. I've killed a couple that way. Like I said, I pay a lot of attention to their wants and needs, so they tend to stay well fed and taken care of, even when pregnant.

This wasn't was tragic as some people stories but to me it as really sad because I really liked the family. This was during one of my many attempts at the prosperity challenge. I decided to cheat a little and choose a family myself, husband and wife.

I move them into a large empty lot (legacy challenge style). They were having a hard time getting promoted and lived in a two room shack. Then the wife got pregnant and the father got a bad chance card. The mother had twins so I had to sell the tv and a few other items to by the baby stuff. It was really rough. But they made it to childhood and since they had no tv it was really hard to get their fun up. They refused to do their homework and eventually the social worker came. I felt like crying, the kids were so beautiful. I never did finish this family or the challenge. I deleted the neighborhood.

ladyk599 - why didn't you get another family to adopt the kids? Thats what I do.

Or, if a Sim's kids are taken, get a random sim to move in to the house, get that sim to adopt the kids, and then get that random sim to move out again. Unless you're bothered about memories and family trees, that will get them back.

When my Brandi Broke's son, Beau, got taken by the social worker (luckily not his younger brother, as he was at school) I got Cassandra Goth to adopt him. If only Beau was a girl - getting adopted by the super-rich after living in Brandi's trailer would be a great Cinderella story! (Or tragedy.... hmm, I have an idea now...).

Augustus, the most promising child in a struggling family of 7 became a teenager and snuck out one night. Through some sort of glitch, he never returned! It was not a runaway or anything, he just never came back after sneaking out... I watched his needs drop for days until a message appeared: "Augustus has died on another lot." How sad! He was the only one in the family with any hope of a future. I imagine he died in some dark alleyway of Veronaville after being robbed... :(

You also get that message if you move a Sim to another neighbourhood, while that Sim is visiting another lot. E.g. An NPC sim called John or something was visiting Cassie, and then I quit the lot and he got married to another Sim, and then I moved them to Veronaville (big mistake I know) and then I went to play on Cassie's house a few days later, and John slowly faded as he got up out of a chair then I got that message. Strange.

This happened to me, accept she didn't die. Lilith Pleasent snuck out and never returned. Then I clicked on her picture and "poof" she appeared in the front yard! She cut off relations with Ricky McComicker after that. I guess he kidnapped her but she escaped. Her needs got really low too.

Anyway here is my tragady, even though its in already been written in at least 2 other places. And it was a complete accident.

So Mortimer Goth is trying to decide whether or not to propose to Dina Caliente. He wants to, but Cassie and Alex advise against it and Morty still hopes to find Bella. (In reality I didn't want him to marry that "gold-digger")Anyway he finally decided he would propose and Dina happily accepted. So they set out to plan a very lavish wedding at Goth Manor, with every possible thing. Mortimer was willing to spend every last penny to make Dina happy. Finally the Wedding day came and everyone arrived at the party. Including Nina, pregnant Cassie (which was weird b/c she already gave birth to her son at her Dreamer home) and Mary-Sue might have been there. Morty and Dina get under the arch and they kiss. But everyone starts to sob immidiatly after the two kiss. I'm really confused because now Dina is sobbing. Then the Grim Reaper appears to take Morty away becasue he died of old age! (I don't think pleading for someone who died of old age is possible?) Since Dina was his wife for two seconds she inherited everything. It was terrible, poor Mortimer Goth died at his wedding, and I had plans to continue the Goth tragedy. Alex would come to hate Dina and eventually run away and Dina had plans to modernize the Classical Goth manor. Unfortunatly I had to reinstall the game and that was the end that story.

I had finally gotten up to the third (or fourth) generation of a legacy. My sim decided to have twins, then get pregnant and have twins again, all without cheesecake since this was before OFB even came out. The four kids grew up into children without a problem, until one day.

They were coming home from school, and their mom was pulling in the drive way just as the last one stepped off the bus. Next thing I know, they're being stuffed into a blue social worker van, leaving the poor mother staring. I was like "....What the muffin, man?"

The legacy had to end there, because they couldn't try for baby or adopt or anything. I got so mad, and I nearly started crying. They were really pretty for kids of an ugly townie, too.

I've had two tragedies, centering around two Sims: Lolita Bust and Aero Yakaki-Shroomer.

Lolita's story starts with her 'parents': Lovesda, his wife Zoombi, and a random woman named Lulzy. They were meant to warm up my Simming skills before starting a YA household, and they were always meant to die. Still, I got Lovesda and Zoombi married on the first day, and turned jealousy off so Lovesda could still woo Lulzy. However, I forgot InTeen came with Risky WooHoo, and Lulzy was pregnant on the first try, even though it had been in a hot tub. Shortly afterwards, I began to let their needs drop, keeping hunger above starvation point with cheats. For some unknown reason, Lulzy didn't miscarry, and the result was dear Lolita.

At first, Lolita was a prime candidate to be taken away, but I aged her to toddler to see what she looked like. She was a beautiful toddler, so I aged her up all the way to teen and set her to No School, and had her Meditate in a building on her while I took care of her parents (I consider Zoombi to be a third parent to her). However, an unexpected death occurred when Lulzy was scared to death by a ghost from the family that was there before her. The others lasted a lot longer, as their illnesses kept randomly going away even as I took horrible care of them. Eventually, I caved and killed Zoombi off by sickness using cheats. Lovesda later died when electrocuted while trying to fix a trash compactor. Lolita, now alone, hired several NPCs to clean up the house, and then left for college. Now, she's grown above it all, engaged to the bug exterminator that helped her in her teens, but the traces of the tragedy still remain in the graves of her family and the one before her, which she took with her to college. Lulzy herself has scared Lolita several times, despite that being how she met her own demise.

The second tragedy happened much later, planned near the end of Lolita (and the others') freshman year. At first, I had no clue what to do with Aero, as I was terrible with Popularity Sims. Soon, though, as she slowly became best friends with all her roommates, I decided to go through with her LTW of twenty best friends, but planned something for her senior year. Soon, she worked up a huge network of friends, joining La Fiesta Tech's sorority (although never moving in), becoming part of the Secret Society, and paving the way for several other Sims to expand their own connections, with one also joining the SS. At the very beginning of her senior year, she held a party, inviting all thirteen of her non-household best friends. There, she had her first kiss with a partygoer, and several of her roommates grew close to several guests.

And then, outside, she found herself crushed by a satellite. It was a great party that she never got to see the end of.

Aero's a happy ghost, though, I think. Even in death, she's smiling, cheering on friends who are dancing, and grinning when she's spooking them. That may be the saddest part of this, as I have never seen a happy ghost before. She doesn't even get angry like Lolita's family. She just sobs once in a while. It might all change when I move her grave, though. Maybe I should just put her on a little community lot dedicated just for her.

I had another wierd glitch in the small and happy Rose family. Katherine, a stay at home mom, had to watch her husband and young son be ripped away right before her eyes, powerless to help.

It tragedy unfolded like so: Norman came home from work prompty at 3, the same time, of course as little Johnnie's school bus.

The two vehicles "crashed' by intersecting each other. The school bus blocked Norman from getting out of his car and Norman's car blocked Johnnie from getting off the school bus. So they were both stuck in their respective vehicles.. for hours and and hours.

Day turned into night, night turned into day, and a bubble popped up warning me that the social worker would soon come to take little Johnnie away since he was starving. Then, Norman died. :( After his death, his car magically popped back into the driveway just as the dreaded social worker appeared, whisking away poor Johnnie from his sobbing mum.

Poor Katherine! Unable to save her dear husband or her child!

I'm sure some people will find this disturbing... but what can I say? I like chaos in my game.

I had a guy named Edward who was married to a girl named Rose and had two children. Well Edward and Rose were always fighting and the children were running wild. They got a divorce and Rose soon died afterwards. Her grave was on the lot and Edward got a big laugh out of kicking her grave, despite his children watching. He then got remarried and moved his new wife in along with her little daughter. They lived together for awhile, and soon the little daughter grew up to be a beautiful adult. Edward got excited and well... he got caught cheating with her! The girl he helped raise! So he divorced his current wife and got together with his ex-step daughter. Needless to say, his ex-wife was devastated. A Jerry Springer episode if I ever saw one!

Just thinking about that family makes me laugh, yet feel bad. What a dysfunctional home.

I think my biggest Sim tragedy was when the family cat (that my Sims had had since it was a kitten) passed away from old age when I wasn't paying attention. That little guy was amazing, I totally loved every pixelated inch of him, and then I was completely oblivious when he passed away. After awhile I just found his little urn sitting there next to his kitty bed...I think I actually cried!

Reading this thread reminded me of what happened when I originally started playing the game years ago. I decided to start with Pleasantview to just sort of get into the flow of things.

So, I was playing the Goth family and decided to let Mortimer marry Dina Caliente. All's well, they marry, Dina gets pregnant and has a son named Peter. The family seems happy enough, even Alexander is doing well in private school. When, whoops, Dina gets pregnant again. Maybe it was mean of me to make her try to have baby after baby, I guess I saw her money grabbing ways and thought I'd have some fun with it. So, highly pregnant with her second child, tragedy strikes as Mortimer dies of old age. Well that was to be expected of such an old man. I guess Dina will have to be a single mother of her babies (born and unborn) as well as Alexander, won't she? But Mortimer wouldn't have any of this. He must have thought "if I go, she goes too!" and so, only a day after he died he glided up to pregnant Dina and uttered a mean and loud "BOO!" and poor Dina got frightened so badly that she died of fear.

I ended up having Alexander raise his baby half brother while still going to school. It was really difficult to manage (but I did manage) and I constantly felt really really sorry for Alexander for having such a difficult life all of a sudden.

well it's not a tragedy for me, ithink it's really funny. as so many tragedies this one is also of th goth family.

Mortimor gets enaged to Dina, she moves in gets married, and she has the time of ehr life being the rich and wealthy sim she always wanted to be, then Alexandra and alexander died in a accidently pool accident caused by dina passing out in front of the poolstairs, making it impossible for alexandra en alexander to get out of the pool, she wakes up and they are drowned. Mortimer turns all of his time to Dina who is very very ahppy that she now gets all the money of the family after mortimer dies.

tragedy isn't ended, Mortimer caugh Dina and Don kissing, he trows ehr out and that is the end of ehr fairy tale life, but then she turns out to be pregnant from mortimer, a daughter is born and she makes things up with mortimer, little anja groes up to teenager, gets pregnant and goes to live with her boyfriend with mortimer. she hates Dina for some strange reson and has to look at the fact that her daughter that she never wanted enhirited all the money and the goth manor of mortimer.

Montridge
9th Mar 2008, 07:43 PM
When I first got the game, I deleted the premades and created Montridge, where I could put characters from my real life stories. It was fun seeing the people I created in 3 D form. I tried to keep the Townies from ruining my carefully crafted story lines, but after awhile they won and intermingled with my CAS sims and changed a lot of my plans.
One character, the beautiful vixen Dee Cox was nearing elder. I quickly rushed her over to the fountain of youth device, but forgot she had to be in gold or platinum mode. She turned elder too soon. I left her old and aged everyone else her age and older to concentrate on the next generation. Later on I just reinstalled and now she's young, beautiful, and causing more trouble than ever.
Another was the son of my town's wealthiest family. He became the sports star that he always aspired to be. I finally allowed him to chose his own life partner and the maid Remington was his choice. They had a lovely join/union and lived together very happily until I had to age them due to Dee's misfortune.
They had three children by this time anyway. The adopted ones were adults, the youngest one a teen. I thought it would be more realistic. Well, I threw them a golden anniversary. It was pretty, perfect, and so much a success until Grimmy showed up to claim Remington. You apparently can't plead with Grimmy when it comes to old age. So a really joyful time turns to a real bummer very quickly.
When I re did Montridge, I made them all over. Everyone of Dee's generation is still in college. The parents all still alive too. I haven't played with any of those characters for a long time.

Britney was quite a wild bachlorette. She moved to Hillwood and quickly became aware of the surrounding male population, getting pregnant within days from a guy named Christian. She had a daughter named Stick, but did not see fit to stop her lifestyle, and ended up with a son (named Lance) from a guy in her original welcome wagon. Being very single and very poor, Britney proposed to Christian in the hopes that he would bring in money for her little family. He accepted and they had a VERY informal marriage in the family room.

Things still didn't change much - apparently this mother thought she could get even crazier because of being married - she hooked up with a guy in a bar, woohoo'ed in a photobooth, and ended up pregnant again. A little girl named Nail was born. And the list of "on the sides" just kept growing! One of them, Justin, moved in (supposedly to help "pay the rent"), which led to baby Pierce. But here's where it gets really messed up - at Pierce's baby-to-toddler transition party, Stick took Justin into her parent's room, and they woohoo'ed (thank you InTeen and ACR *sarcasm*). She, just a teen, became pregnant. And despite the fact that the house is now at full capacity, once Needle was born, she became pregnant yet again. Justin and Stick immediately wed once Stick started to show signs of her second pregnancy.

Basically, Britney's "on the side" had an affair with her daughter. So Britney is the grandmother to her own offspring's half-siblings :P

I had a struggling family trying to get their lives together with an unemployed dad who only sat at home all day making pottery, and a mom who was too busy with work and passing out on the bathroom floor to give her two daughters the attention they deserved. One day, the dad suddenly died, much to my dismay, leaving the mother to fend for herself with her two daughters. But she resurrected her husband with the genie lamp. He came back a zombie!
Their relationship fell apart.
One daughter favoured her zombie dad, the other wouldn't go near him. Zombie Husband had lost his feelings for his wife, as she had. She took out a loan and moved out with one of her daughters.
Talk about a family falling apart!

I rarely have any bad things going on in my Sims, however I do have one tragic, yet slightly amusing, tale. Alice Hampton is the only daughter to Roxi and Oliver Hampton. When Alice was a teen, she fell in love with a townie called Ricky. One afternoon they Woohoo'd in her room, at the same time Roxi and Oliver were Woohooing in their room, and when they were all finished I heard the 'baby' chime. I knew that one of the ladies was pregnant, but didn't know which one. I then left them on freewill to concentrate on another member of the family.

Suddenly I noticed that Alice was in aspiration failure and I had no idea why. I checked her memories, as she had been in positive aspiration a minute ago, and saw that Ricky had been eaten by the cow plant :( poor Ricky.

Now, that was sad enough, however, the next day Alice did the gagging thing with the baby thought bubble - yep, she was pregnant with her dead boyfriend's child :( poor Alice. The amusing part (amusing to me anyway lol) came a little later on when Roxi's belly popped out. Mother and daugher had fallen pregnant on the same day.

Alice had the baby, and I moved both of them out, and she now has a new boyfriend, so things have worked out ok... so far!

Lol! Loved the tragedies. I have one that also happened in Strangetown.
When I begun to play the Beakers this time, as soon as I entered the lot both Loki and Circe had wants of having a baby. It was quite against the usual wants they had when I played the nhood before, so, despite believing Loki and Circe to be pure forture and knowledge seekers with a falling apart relationship, I decided to give it a try. Circe, that autonomously had cheated on Loki with Vidcunt Curious (just a flirt), got pregnant after a succesful Try A Baby with Loki. From that moment on, they began to have romantic wants with each other *all* the time. I mean, all the time. Loki would come back home and go straight to kiss Circe and talk to belly. It was rather cute.
Anyway, tragedy begun when I decided this time I wanted Nervous to die in an experiment so he could be a zombie (since I always end up giving him a nice life in my other Strangetowns - yes I have more than one). He had a few wants realized to gather enough aspiration points and buy a weather machine to provoke a storm and die by a lightning. Well, I ended up spending 5 Sim days trying to get him killed playing in the puddles and nothing. In a fateful morning, Loki had just been nibbled by a wolf and Circe was going outside to take the paper (in underwear, still pregnant because the aging was off) and, out of nowhere, got hit by a lightning.
I didn't want her to die so I quickly maxed out her needs while she was still burning and screaming with Loki and Nervous watching distressed. The tragedy didn't happen in the end thanks to my almighty interference but I think the baby will end up being like that thin bald albino guy in that movie.... I guess it's called Powder in US (go read the review to know what I'm talking about, it's a great movie :p ).

Oh I _create_ misery for them.

A frequent target is Don Lothario. I just love torturing him. From the moment I saw that shit-eating grin in the promo pics where he is seated in his hot-tub dreaming about women, playing the stereotypical Latino hottie schtick to the max, I wanted to have fun with him.

He is frequently discovered to be cheating by his one-time lovers and gets his arse pounded to pulp. His memories are filled with "lost fight to....". Once I moved the maid in with him and laughed myself silly as he dropped into the red changing his children's diapers, as his family sim wife kept popping out one baby after another. Even his most minor aspirations weren't allowed fulfillment, like "changing into undies". No, it was a full suit and tie most of the time for him.

Ooh, also that Ophelia girl in that old lady's house in Strangetown. She conspired to kill the old woman to inherit all her stuff and also routinely invited passers-by in and downed them in her pool. Eventually so many people died in the pool that ghosts would move all around her house leaving puddles. She was eventually scared to death by those that she killed.
I did not engineer her death. It just happened once while she was talking to someone outside her house.

My Hunt family has been struck with a fair amount of tragedy.
Aaron Hunt, the oldest son of conservative millionaire Matt Hunt, married Alicia Roberts, a sweet girl who wanted to be a teacher. They had that perfect kind of marriage that many sims have, Alicia wanted many children and Aaron, a lawyer, could afford them. Aaron also really wanted a son to carry on the family name. So they had children. First, they had a daughter, Danielle, then they had another daughter, Arianna, then Alicia got pregnant again, but she had a miscarriage (unintentional, I have a hack that makes it a possibility). So she had to rest a while, so she wouldn't miscarry again, or die or something. Then they had their third child, a daughter named Rosemarie, and finally, finally, they had a son they named Andrew.
Andrew was the perfect son. A family sim, he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and become a lawyer.
He got along well with his two oldest sisters, though Rosemarie resented him because her parents liked him more than her. She got pregnant on purpose, twice. The second time, Aaron told her to leave, though made sure she was financially taken care of, and he never spoke to her again.
After Aaron and Alicia died (Alicia died first, and Aaron lived a good many years missing her and never seeking a new love), Aaron finally went to university. Danielle and Arianna had already graduated, and Rosemarie never went. There he met Hannah Henderson, a beautiful knowledge sim. They hit it off straight away. The two of them went out together all the time, and often went out on a double date with Andrew's best friend and cousin, Cole, and Cole's wife, Aaricia. The four were very close.
So, one day, Andrew's making himself spaghetti when he realized he had an exam in an hour. So he runs out the door, leaving the pot on the stove. Of course, the whole kitchen was ablaze by the time he got home, and I was helpless as he ran into the fire and then burnt to death. My dear Andrew, heir to the Hunt Legacy, so desired by his parents, so loved by everyone else, with SO MUCH PROMISE, and he died in a fire. I nearly cried.
So Cole, the son of Quinten Hunt, Matt Hunt's younger son, has become the heir to the legacy. Only he doesn't want it. The entire fortune is being left in trust until a Hunt male becomes a lawyer to follow in Matt and Aaron's footsteps.
To add to this tragedy, Aaricia (Cole's wife), drowned while she was pregnant. She was very tired, but decided to jump in the pool anyway, and sank immediately to the bottom.
Now, Cole, who got abducted and now has an alien daughter he's named Aaricia, lives with Hannah. They are currently just friends, but since they were already such good friends before these tragedies, they have found each other after all this pain.
I can only hope that when they do get together, they will have a son, otherwise their will be no direct male heir and then I don't know what I'll do.

I've posted this story before, but possibly the worst Sim tragedy ever in my game was when Mortimer's ghost scared Dina to death literally right after she gave birth to their (first and only) daughter. She placed the baby on the floor right after I had finished naming her, and stood to face Mortimer's ghost. The baby's first memory is of Dina's death. It was horrible, but luckily Cassandra and Don were still residing at the Goth mansion at the time.

This is the only Sim tragedy I can remember, because usually I step in and prevent catastrophes from happening. I could not stop Mortimer from scaring Dina, though.

D: When my game stopped recognizing my custom neighborhood files, as of five minutes ago! *panicking*

Also, I suppose the time Mary-Ann Wilkins gave natural (read: cheatless) birth to a baby boy, who I aged up to a toddler, and deemed hideous. I aged him up to an adult and it turned out he hadn't had ugly-tod syndrome, he really was just ugly. I blame his lantern-jawed father, who I dislike. A satellite fell on Eric the Fug, and his mother rushed over to beg for his life, but she guessed the wrong hand, and ran upstairs (why upstairs?) to have some good old-fashioned Aspiration Failure meltdown. As she ran, I Grimpregnated her with twins (thank you inSIM!)... After she gave birth, though, she glitched horribly, and was stuck standing in once place swaying back and forth, looking around with a blank smile on her face, humming, and occasionally swooning over a baby that was not there. She ignored her family, and she ignored every command I gave her, including Force Error. I ended up having to move the family out and back in again, but Eric's urn got left behind in the shuffle (hadn't had any EPs yet, so no inventories), and is now nowhere to be found.

Charley was young, just a teen, with 4 siblings and loving parents. She found love with Adrian Tskinorv (he was from Twikki, and the surnames are mostly unbarable). And soon - due to a hack of mine - she was pregnant. She was a fitness crazed sim and exercised all day and night. This meant she was neglecting her diet and the constant treadmill sessions led to heatstroke after heatstroke. So she sat on the balcony lifting weights. Then motive distress came again, I was getting bored of this by now but then she went in to labour while in a heat stroke. Luckily with a little bit of x-ing the motive distress and the computer finally settling for a heatstroke after birth she had the child. Held her named her Tara then passed her to Adrian. I thought it was all ok but due to motive distress and starvation she collapsed but this time she didn't jump back and the grim reaper came for her. I could have pleaded but she died end of.
Her mother was extremely distressed and Adrian nearly killed himself (a little trickery of myself, stand over a balcony then use a sucicide cheater and he fell). But Charleys father couldn't help but plead.
Later he remarried only to realise he didn't love her and soon finally commited suicide followed by Laura (his new wife) dying of fright.
This choked me so badly.. Everyone little Tara knew had died around her. Luckily she's still around and too small to understand.
Thats the worst tragedy I've ever played.

I nearly had another disaster in my village. Amanda Hunt was at work and a tree in her backyard caught fire. When she got home, the tree was mostly out, and she tried to put out the fire. I don't like my sims calling the fire department cause it's way too easy to deal with fires that way. Anyway, of course she caught fire. Luckily, her boyfriend from the Mountains was visiting, so I cheated and made him selectable. He came over and saved her life. Now their even, since Jace, the boyfriend, keeps trying to steal the cake from the cow plant and Amanda keeps stopping him and feeding her pet.

Haha, these are terrible! Most of my tragedies are planned out, but one of my favorites is this:

I have a medieval society, where the ruling monarch is Queen Ariadne. She had two teenage daughters, Illyria and Anatacia. Their father died in a fire a few years ago.
In their household they had three servants, one of whom was a teenage boy named Frewin. Illyria and Frewin fell in love, and (with a little...'divine' intervention) she got pregnant. A day later, Frewins sister Bronwyn tried to make spaghetti. She set the kitchen on fire and the two started screaming and dancing around. Then, the Grim Reaper came, but for some odd reason I couldn't plead, so they died. Then, when Illyria's baby was born (a boy names Leone), she was disowned and her younger sister Ana was 'made' heir. Only Ana was caught with a (pregnant) village girl and forced to leave the castle with her sister. Illyria never saw Leone again, and the two poor Sims died unhappy and poor, although Ana died much younger than her sister.

It was actually kind of fun, in the end... :anime:

I created a 'retirement home' for three of my elderly Sim couples. One of the men was a robot-maker, so I had one of each of the OFB robots in the house. One day while I wasn't paying attention, the cleaning robot broke and started leaving trash piles everywhere. One of the elderly ladies, Macy, tried to walk through the garbage, was attacked by flies, and died. At first I couldn't figure out what had happened since I hadn't been looking, so I made Macy's husband, Tristan, walk through the garbage to confirm my suspicions. He, too, was attacked and died. I let them both go because I figured he'd be miserable without her.

I have one. I had this family quite some time ago, and stopped playing this family because of this tragedy to be honest.

Jeff and Serina Lennox had only two daughters, twins actually, Lisa and Veronica. Lisa and Veronica were very close as sisters and went off to Sim State University. They lived together in some property their parents bought. Veronica had a treadmill in her room right next to her study desk, when one day as she was exercising, the treadmill CAUGHT ON FIRE and instantly killed Veronica. (The thought of having a fire alarm in her room did not cross my mind at all!)

After the incident, Lisa mourned, leaving her alone with no sister to share her college experience with. Soon after, Lisa died from starvation from being too depressed.

I remember playing like 3 am and I was just stunned with what happened. After Veronica, it was very hard to keep Lisa on her feet. I literally could not sleep that night!!!

Ricky Wilson was the 3rd Gen of the first family I ever created when I first got the game. He was my altemate favorite sim ever. He was so cute and loved to serenade his wife Sammy. I decided to take him shopping and he headed downtown- he went to the clothing shop and one of the vampiress women were there. She was just kinda doing her own thing- I decided to say Hi to her. I don't know what happened to her personality after that- she went bonkers and bit the garden club lady, the cashier and 2 other sims. I thought to myself- eh he won't get bit he doesn't know her well enough. Yea right! he got bit and then she left the lot. I threw him in the taxi as the sun was rising and when he got home- he got out of the taxi and wanted to trim the hedges (which was some sort of hobby for him) I clicked cancel and told him to go inside- but his wife was there to kiss him. I kept pressing the cancel keys hoping the force in my finger would just teleport him inside- but alas he turned into a pile of ash. His wife was so sad. I didn't know anything about insim resurrections or max motives at that time.

I had made two couples...a gay couple (Casey and Eddy) and a straight couple (Lynne and Lance). I made them married in CAS. Lynne was Casey's sister. So I moved them all into a house and after about 2 sim days, everybody was best friends. Casey and Lance were both watching TV on the couch and I wanted Eddy to go and kiss Casey for a cute picture, but I accidentally had him kiss Lance instead. Lynne was at work so she didn't see it happen, but Casey was furious and his relationship with Eddy was 30/5. Since it was my fault and not Eddy's, I cheated their relationship back up and they were fine. Unfortunately, I forgot that Eddy was still in love with Lance. The next simday, Casey was outside gardening, when I see the woohoo video kick in. Yup, it's Eddy and Lance. Thank you, ACR... :-( Of course, Casey's relationship with Eddy is -100/-100, so I have him break up with Eddy, but I kept Eddy in the house. It was cute though, because even though they broke up, and Casey hated him, they would still do the cuddle in the sleep thing and Casey would still accept all of the romantic actions. So I finally got them back to good relations and had them get married again. The next simday, a very pregnant Lynne was making toaster pastries started a fire when she passed out. I wasn't really paying attention and i was talking to my sister-in-law, when she looked at my computer screen and went "HOLY CRAP!" I looked over, and Eddy, Lance, and Lynne were all dead. Just when they got married again! I felt really bad for Casey because when he got home from work he found his husband, sister, and brother-in-law dead. He wouldn't stop mourning and eventually starved himself to death because he kept canceling my cooking actions to mourn. I like to think that him and Eddy are together in Sim-heaven.

I exited the lot feeling really defeated :-(

I was playing my favorite family, Max Specter (Olive's other son), his wife Stella Terrano and their twins Aegyptus and Daneus. Max was a vampire, Stella had been but had just been cured. Anyway, Stella and Aegyptus were both outside using the train set to up their tinkering hobby and Daneus was inside painting. I was busy trying to get Max to get into his coffin and he was busy ignoring me. Suddenly I noticed that the build and buy modes weren't available anymore and I was faintly hearing screaming from the front yard so I scrolled out and found the train set in a huge ball of flames that were killing Stella and Aegyptus! I quickly sent Max to call the fire department and then, despite his being a vampire (I was desperate!), told him to fight the flames until the firemen arrived. They did and I kept trying to get Max back inside but he just kept screaming and crying as the Grim Reaper took his wife and his son. He wouldn't even plead for them! Then the social worker took Daneus because Aegyptus had overheated (gee, ya think?!) and Max's motives dropped completely from being in the sun too long and he turned into a pile of ash and died.

My other tragedy occurred because of me. Herb and Coral had had a kitchen fire earlier in the day and after I got them clean and all, I sent them to bed. About 3am, Herb awoke begging for food. Coral soon followed. Neither of them made a move to go downstairs, they just kept staring up at me begging for food. I wasn't in the mood to deal with stupid sims and figured that if they wanted food, they could go downstairs and get it. Suffice it to say, several sim hours went by, they didn't eat, and they died. It was only then that I realized that they'd lost their fridge in the fire. Whoops.

ah...tragedies...

i had these two families, and i had intended all of their kids to marry each other...each family had six kids. I played one family, the Tudors out to teenagehood, then went back and played the other family, the Merovingians from their first move-in (no kids yet) so i knew what genders i needed to match up with the Tudors, who were four boys and two girls. So everything was working out with the genders until the Merovingian's last kid. for some reason, they were predisposed to have girls...so they had four girls and one boy, and needed the last baby to be a boy to match up with the Tudors. But no...out popped Antoinette. So now the youngest four kids were screwed...Ebrith and Rebecca Tudor, and Jayne and Antoinette Merovigian.

So i had intended Ebrith for Jayne before Antoinette was born. But then i had no idea what to do with Antoinette...so i raised her as the family rebel and made her a sort of rival of Jayne's, but i still thought Jayne and Ebrith were the cutest couple...

Then, when both girls were in their teens (this was base game only)...Jayne met with an unfortunate accident while cooking (unintentionally)...but i decided not to plead with grimmie, and she died. perfect opportunity for antoinette...

years later (when uni came out), antoinette went to college, graduated, etc, and was ready to move into ebrith's house, but i still didn't really want to play them because i was starting to have remorse about jayne (one of the only teens i had had die on me)

then, when we got the power to resurrect, jayne was the first one i resurrected...she met back up with ebrith, and with the help of inteen, had twins :D

so kindof a tragedy with a happy ending...but it was a tragedy for a few realtime years...

I do so love when tragedy strikes the hapless sim world! Bwa ha ha!

My most recent tragedy was of my own design. I was playing with the Ramaswami family (how do you even spell that???) Sanjay and Priya had only one child, a girl named Charkra. She got married to a fugly townie named Randy and had some fugly half townie babies: Button, Tyger, Lulu, and Pug. Things were getting way too boring at the Ramaswami household so I encouraged some drama by way of making Priya wohoo Randy, her son-in-law.

That sure got things fired up! Fights ensued, rivalries flared, and the family was split apart... Sanjay left his cheating ho wife to marry someone else. Chakra and Priya regularly got into fist fights. Randy didn't like that so much, so he uh... shot Priya one day :D Chakra didn't like her husband shooting her mother, so she shot Randy. Since the grim reaper came by so much, I thought that Chakra could use another baby... and so Mahgott Ramaswami was conceived!

Then I felt like poor Priya got the worse end of things, so I resurrected her. Unfortunately... there were not enough simoleons to go around and now poor Priya is walking around as a half-rotten brain-devouring zombie!

Chakra died sadly right after giving birth, but fear not, the tale does end happily. Mahgott (the grim reaper's son) is now the coolest cat walking around the neighborhood because apparently Grimmy has some good genetics! Plus having a crazy zombie as your only guardian gets you tons of cool points...

Usually I control all deaths in my game (even the ones for elder Sims). But I was in a sad story where a Sim lost his son (an alien toddler with SimPe help) in spite of his father's (chief of staff) help. After the death of the young one the Sim and his dad have return to the house after the hospital. All familly was happy for their return and it was just the birthday of the younger Sim child (Léa). An occasion to rejoice. ;)
So the birthday is organized, the little girl becomes a cute child and just after her grand-father passed away. :(

In the story I haven't payed attention to the aging bar and it was such a tragedy for this family ! Unfortunately but perfect for the story (the chief of staff have hard to bear his grand-son death and have lost some precious days in that).
So finally I have kept this death. :)

And what the heck is with you and all these goth tragedies? I absolutely LOVEE the goths and I'd totally hop right into the screen and comfort Alexander if Game Shark's tragedy hapened to me xD.

I love Alexander. ;-; I don't know why, but I just love him so much.

I hate it when pets die. Or when I have to give puppies up for adoption. My heart breaks every single time.
Sorry for my noobful ignorance, but on another site I was told when a pet dies [such as a dog or cat] that Grimy Grimmy comes [I am deathly afraid of hi, therefore my sims are in perfect health, never look out a telescope or go swimming, nothing fun ever :P] and digs a grave with his scythe and that's where the pet is. Was this correct?

Okay. I made a teen named Grady. SHortly after he moved into Pleasantview, his mother was crushed by a falling satellite. Now, shortly after, his father married the divorced Mary-Sue Pleasant, and they moved in. Grady, being a knowledge sim, went to use a telescope. Guess what happened? ET paid a visit. When he came back, he was nearly dead, and then, he went to help Angela's baby grow up, and it barfed on him, causing him to die from the swarm of flies on his way to the bathtub.

I felt so sorry, I didn' t save. So the alien abduction and barf were undone.

Heh I got tradgedies, lots of them >:P

I was making a legacy like a year ago, last named Clovis. After the Patriarch who had just died (in a fire), the wife, (Marylena Hamilton, or Grocery Delivery lady) called the grim repear on the ressurect-o-tron whatever thing, payed 10,000 dollars, (as much as she owned) and ressurected him. now the family had nothing left. While she was doing that, her bad teenage daughter cook set the house on fire with her mac n' cheese, the firefighter came, and for some reason he must of been GLITCHED UP because he just stand right outside of the fire truck, and by the time the rest of the family tried to go and extinguish it, the mom and daughter burnt to death with the father and his two sons still alive. Then the dad had to go to work, so he went to work. and a chance card came up, and then i picked the wrong option, and he got fired. His salary was 2.2k, now 0. then I forgot about the bills, so the repo-man came and stole some stuff. since he worked nights, the sons were out watering, then their dreaded sister scared one of the sons to death, i was like WTF? and the other son called his GF to sneak out, they went out. the dad was watching tv when it broke, and he had 2 mechanical and tried to fix it but suprisingly he was shocked to death, only for his son to get home an hour later to grow to an adult. he has like, terrible aspiration and as soon as he grew up the therapist came when he was like starving terribly. so he went to the groceries, they had nothing left, for him to die of hunger.

Sad ;(

Back in the early days when I had no idea how to build houses I was playing the Brokes. Brandi found a wonderful man and had another baby, little Ryan. I extended the house to make a nursery...and didn't put a roof on.

The baby got snowed on and I kept getting messages to warm him up. I kept tucking in the poor baby thinking that that was what was wrong, and then the social worker came.

I swear, I almost cried.

Hmm.. it's been a while since I played Veronaville, but I think I remember most of the details.

Juliette's brother (I can't remember his name!) died after going out in the hail, and so the next day he was buried. The day of his funeral, Juliette's father - tried to fix the television and died from electricution. Seriously, I should pay more attention to my Sims.

Anyway, during the same playing session I switched over to the Monty household. Romeo's father tried to cook a meal while Romeo's mother was also in the kitchen, setting fire to them both and they both died. The next day Romeo and his brother buried their parents.

I switched over to Capp Manor, and Romeo and Juliette met up - and it ended in Juliette getting pregnant. Romeo fell in love with someone else and married them soon after, leaving Juliette a single parent (although helped out by her sister... but not for long, as she's engaged to Puck).

I remember once I had started a legacy with a lady. She married a townie. Then she got pregnant, then she got sick and wouldn't stay in bed. Sadly I had it on fast forward to get through the pregnacy fast so there was no saving her. I didn't even notice she was dead until the the little picture icon was gone.

I had a very large blended family consisting of Buzz Grunt, his three boys, his new wife Nina Caliente, and their 7 kids (yes, 7 kids). I thought I'd closed the game down for the night and was watching TV when I happened to look over at my computer about 3 hours later and realized the game was still on, just blocked by my Outlook. I clicked over and discovered that someone had set the kitchen on fire and there was only one surviving person. :weep:

Just now i had the most ignorant tragedy.

My legacy family consists of two adults and three kids. The wife is a vampire since the husband has a turn on for it. Now everything was going smoothly up to the third child when i notice that Jacklyn's, the wife, needs are extremely low. So i try to put her back in the coffin. She ends up coming back out and complaining about being hungry and did so until she got enough common sense to walk downstairs and get something to eat. Then she wanted a shower and the toilet, plus something to boost her fun. After taking care of those needs, she was once again hungry and tired. I saw her going upstairs so i assumed she was going back to her coffin and was too busy with feeding the toddler and baby to check.

Next thing i know she's a pile of ash on the upstairs hallway. :[ She left a husband and three children behind to suffer.

EDIT: And now i lost Felix, Adrian, and Matthew to the social worker. D: Life sucks for my founder.

This isn't much of an "in-game" tragedy as it is just a tragedy.

My game kept crashing. After removing all CC from the game, cleaning out my cojjputer (physically with Q-Tips, and defragging and disc clean up and allt hat) and updating my drivers and literally doing everything I could to save it.

I had to uninstall/reinstall. I lost my Legacy family- 8 generations long.

I felt like crying. I knew I should've backed up my files and I don't know why I didn't. Maybe because I uninstalled at like midnight last night.... sigh....

I don't really have many tradegies, just this one..

I started my first legacy and had just moved in my founder. A good looking townie walked by and my sim decided to say hi while something was in the microwave. It caught on fire and she died D: And that was the end of my legacy. I swear I could've cried, I've never lost a sim to a fire that quickly before.

I've done almost the exact same thing

The greatest tragedy I can remember, was when I made a family in sims1, and mom and dad died in a fire...I cried and my mom didn't believe it was an accident and said I'm a cruel beeyotch...My dad stood up and said if it was you she killed, you could call her hat. My mom went quiet  So the girl was left with another family member which was an aunt. it was weird since it was the 1st time I had and accident death and it shocked me. I never had any deaths in Sims2...

Once my sims2 family Students(that is their surnames xD) had kittens. I felt so horrible, I could not bring myself to give them up for adoption. I just couldn't. I started crying and going hysterical...My dad said leave the family. I couldn't give them away either...It was a horrible feeling, so I stopped playing the family >_>

I had just started playing Veronaville, and started with the Capps' lot. Tybalt (I think that was his name) was having some aspiration issues and making him spend all his time painting instead of doing things he wanted to didn't help.
So he commited suicide that night.
Then Juliette invited over Romeo, and they did woohoo and she got pregnant as a teenager... so 3 days later, she invited Romeo back over, and she had twins. She handed one to her grandfather (forgot his name) and the other to her sister (forgot her name, also, haha) then I decided to have them go down the classic Romeo and Juliet path - she passed out on the ground (I lowered her energy) which frightened Romeo and made him think she was dead, so he commited suicide with Tybalt's sword. Then Juliette wakes up, sees Romeo dying, and is the third and final person to use the sword and kill herself.
Those poor twins were pretty neglected by the rest of the family after that.

Not so much an actual tragedy as mass murder that went wrong. I had built a house with eight rooms and made a family specifically to murder. Each had a roomand they would be burned to death in that room. I made them swim while they waited their turn to die. Unfortunately the burning took so long that after the third death, I went to the pool to collect the fourth and found them all drowning.

So... Mine is this: it's one of those stupid ones.

John went to club dante. he saw his girlfriend Jill there. He went to kiss her. All is well right? wrong. he smooched her, but didn't realize that she was dating some other guy there. So that guy went and slapped Jill, and then John realized what was going on, so he slapped Jill. But John didn't know that three of his other girlfriends were there too. so they went and slapped john, and John was in aspiration failure(romance sim), so hewas sittin on the floor twiddling his lips when this random servo comes in, plays poker for a while then goes crazy shooting sparks everywhere, and just when he gets out of aspiration failure, a spark hits john and he dies.

Deeply in love sims Anna and Michael had everything! a cute, french style home *will upload soon*, two lovely dogs, and a baby on the way. one thing they didn't have was a marriage certificate. So one day, michael called up his friends for a party, and much to Anna's surprise, married her halfway through the party! she was so ecstatic! So they went for a celebratory swim! Holding hands, they jumped into the pool in their wedding clothes. But much to the horror of the newlywed couple, the ladder to the pool *magically* disappeared, leavin them to drown while the rest of the part goers ate their cake and danced! poor Anna and Michael!

I had built this HUGE mansion, and in it lived Miranda and Joel. They got married together and had a son, Bryce. Joel had a romance aspiration, so he was messing around with the maid one day when Miranda caught them. She became furious with Joel, but after he got the boot I had him move back in.

One day while Bryce the teenager was cooking some pancakes before school there was a fire, and, of course, being sims, his parents ran down and began yelling and pointing at the fire. After I finally got Bryce to go to school, his parents wouldn't leave the fire, since none of them had work that day. They both died, and because Miranda was mad, Joel wasn't saved and because Miranda was all alone, with no one to plead for her, she died too.

Mine was a couple years ago when all I had was the base game and one expansion pack. I was playing the Caliente sisters. I cannot remember quite well, but I believe that I had Dina moved out and Don Lothorio (I'm not sure how to spell it) and Cassandra had moved in. Along with Cassandra was her younger brother, Alexander. Nina had had a son with Mortimer, whom she broke up with after discovering her pregnancy for some reason. Don and Cassandra moved out together, leaving Nina with alone with her son and Alex. Nina became very depressed and stressed, causing her stats to plummet and she never became happy, and later died. The children were left alone, and eventually taken by a social worker.

:( One day I decided to make a graveyard on a lot. I had a family living there, in a small, freaky little 3 story house, with a livable attic. I had a baby, teens, and a few adults there. Not to mention there were many nannies and a maid.

:wtf: That's when the trouble started. I guess karma was going to come back to them sooner or later, but it happened fast. There was a cheap stove in the attic, and one of my adults were cooking. Then there was a fire, and all hell broke loose. The phone burned, and then so did everyone else. The nannies and maid fled, but only a few got away! Mostly everyone died, trying to save the baby. Then the only one left was the baby. Then the social worker came, and that was the end of that.

Okay, my story isn't really a tragedy, but it's something that happened by accident.

I started out with just one Sim made in CAS, Phineas Cuttler. He moved in a house, and he met the love of his life, Ivy (don't remember her last name). Anyway, they got married and had a boy named Darren. Just before Darren was to leave for college, Phineas was working in the garden and (this is the accident part!) was turned into a plantsim after using way too many pesticides.
Darren left the house (he just graduated, by the way), and on the same day, Phineas gave birth to his first plantbaby, Daisy. Now, Ivy had a wish of turning into a plantsim herself; it eventually happened, but Daisy has a constant wish of seeing Ivy turned back into a normal Sim (don't know why).
After raising enough money, the Cuttler family (without Darren, who was in college at that time) moved to a 5x6 lot, called "House of Plants". Now they live in a green-house styled... err... house, growing veggies and just making money. Shortly after they moved in, Phineas had a second daughter, Margaret, while Ivy managed to grow a plantbaby of her own, called Juniper (a lot of plant names, eh?).
They are now all adults. But I'm approaching the 8 sim/lot limit, so I'm thinking of moving the daughters out. Who knows what might happen next? Maybe one of them will want to be cured of Plansimism...

This wasn't exactly a total tragedy, but I was so shocked after it happened.
So I'm playing with Don L., and he's hungry so I tell him to go make some poptarts, so puts them in the toaster. the maid comes and so does Don's carpool. He autonomously goes to work. And of course the toaster catches fire, while the maid is there! I didn't know how to make her selectable, so she caught fire and died. Then half of Don's kitchen burns down. Needless to say, I sorta went into hysterical shock as I watched her burn, terrified there was nothing I could do. Since then I've switched pcs, so now Don and the maid are married.

Not so much a tragedy but really funny from my point of view.
My guy was making breakfast but the car turned up for work, so he left the stove with saucepan on it and off he goes. The food of course catches fire, I came back with my coffee and watched with mouth open as first the stove and then one by one everything in his kitchen burns to ash (in fast forward as well LOL). Then he comes home and throws a fit a seeing the kitchen burnt to a crisp! And yet it was HIS fault. Then he complains about the environment, then about having to sweep the ash up….Oh and he didn’t have enough cash for a new kitchen so he had to order pizza at least that made him happy.

In one of my families, it was just a Mother, Father and daughter. The daughter was a teen and was top of the class. She was a GENIUS. Destined to make waves in the science spectrum, she often used her telescope at night. Then, one night, she was abducted by aliens, but returned relatively unscathed. She eagerly ran upstairs to record her findings in a book, then went back to see if she could see the aliens again. The telescope was facing the wrong way, so she instead witnessed her Father in bed with another woman. Well, then her Mother, Father, and her Father's girlfriend ran down to where she stood. Her mother slapped her father and broke up with him. Her mother then shouted at her for ruining the marriage. Her Father also shouted at her. Then the girlfriend slapped her. Deciding now would be a good time to end the precedings, the daughter went up to bed.

In the morning, her mother apolagised and told her how much she loved her. The daughter then went outside to get some cloud watching in before school. Aaaaaaaaand was crushed by a satalite. Oh.

Her mother ran out to see her, then passed out. Then the Father came over to apologise, then died of depression. When the mother woke up, she called police, social services, the ambulance in the hope that one of them would be able to help. Before they arrived, she decided to do some cooking to calm her down. Half way through, she glanced out the window and saw the Grim Reaper. She passed out (again).

Then the house caught on fire from the cooking and she died, and all three's bodies were burnt.

Oh dear.

It doesn't seem likely, but I SWEAR it really happened (lol when was writin swear I typed sweat :D)

Well, this is...tragedec.while i was playing my sit back and watch challenge, someone lit a fire.soon after, people one by one came, and were burned.sadly,5 out of the 8 died, the only reason the others survived is because 2 slept through it, and the last guy slept through the grimreaper, so he lived.

My Cyd Roseland Legacy was moving along quite well. Cyd was married to a lovely townie named Teri and they were expecting. He was the sole breadwinner at the time since she wanted to max 7 skills so I figured she'd be more useful staying home and painting the occasional picture. Anyway, around 3am Sim Time, Cyd got out of bed - all bars in the green - and died. Just died. For no reason! I was so stunned I didn't react right away and by the time I got Teri out of bed, it was too late to plead. There was a silver lining. Teri ate cheesecake so the Roseland Legacy still has an heir and a spare - Jacob and Edward (yeah...really original I know... .) but I'm so sad about Cyd. Teri was about 3/4 done his founders portrait so it is sitting, half finished, on an easel in the living room where it will remain.

My biggest tragedy was when I realized that when I undressed Taylor Lautner, I could only see his head and *other thing*. Jeez, what a tragedy!

I created a tragedy on purpose, but it has a happy ending. Or it did until I restarted my 'hoods.

I created an elderly couple and they moved into an apartment in Strangetown's downtown. They adopted a child, a cute little girl named Beth, and they taught her to study and got her into private school.

Beth was not long into her teen stage and came home from work one night to find that both of her adoptive parents had died of old age--on the same night. So she went to school every day and went to work, and finally went to college at La Fiesta Tech. During college she met General Buzz Grunt and after she graduated they got married.

She also became Big Woman on Campus (that's where you have enough friends to maximize your Influence Meter capacity). She was on the phone constantly but she still managed to maintain a 4.0--without schmoozing with the professors.

She might have been left alone when her parents died, but she had about a dozen best friends.

I think mine would have to be when I had a little girl want to see a shooting star. I thought I'd oblige, only to look round a couple of (RL) minutes later to see her disappear from the family thumbnails... and saw Grimmie standing next to a fallen satellite!

It's the first time I've ever had a child die in TS2 :( I may get her resurrected one day - she didn't deserve to go like that.

Two of my guy sims, Aaron and Lucian, were supposed to be getting married, so I set everything up with the little buffet, the arch, the chairs, everything. While the guests were arriving, one of my other moronic sims broke the TV. Aaron was the only one with any mechanical skill at all, so I had him go fix it.

He electrocuted himself and died. D: While the guests were arriving for their wedding. And to make matters worse, Lucian couldn't get there in time to plead with the Grim Reaper. D:

I think the biggest tragedy I had was with a family I had about a year ago.

I had just installed the Inteenimater so wasn't used to the whole miscarriage thing. Anyway, I had a man and woman in the family (forget their names) who were newlyweds. I thought it was about time they conumated their marriage so I set them up to do so. Before they got down to business I figured I would let them do their thing and I would go get a drink. I got distracted by my grandmother while away from the computer so I didn't get back until the middle of the next sim day.
My sims are never very bright so the woman I guess had woken up shortly after going to bed so her energy was in the red along with her hunger and bladder. I sent her to the restroom but before she could 'go' she started screaming and ultimately had a miscarriage. I didn't even know she was pregnant!
Long story short, she had two other miscarriages, then her husband dies from a fire. She later meets a new man and gets pregnant twice with him, losing both children to miscarriage. Then, she finally died herself from complaining to much about her horrible life instead of eating.

What I learned from all of this? Take better care of pregnant Sims....lol

Oh man, reading these thread is making me remember dear old McCree Landgraab...

Alright, so here's what happened; having just got Open for Business and Happy Holidays, I wanted a Sim who wasn't afraid to run a business and celebrate the big three (Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas) at the same time. So I created McCree Fizzy. She moved into a house just down the road from Malcolm's huge mansion. I decorated it with all Christmas stuff, painted everything red and laid out the Happy Holidays carpet, and started a business. McCree had two Servos; Simon and Simone, who had a thing for each other. Anyways, who shows up in McCree's welcome wagon but Malcolm Landgraab? Now, I didn't know who he was at first ("Oh my gosh, I somehow messed up and made Dina a guy!!!"), but after I calmed down ("Oh, wait, he's that guy on the Sims Wiki I read about..."), I invited him in. It was like love at first sight. Eventually, after I got ahold of SimPE, I made them get married. Simon and Simone got married a day later, and adopted a boy toddler named Alon. All was going great. THEN I had a dream (Nightmare?) about what was gonna happen on my game; McCree would get pregnant with twins and die. Now, when I woke up, I thought "I should soooo avoid that," but then I thought, "Wait... I smell a storyline that'll get me addicted!" And guess what happened next? McCree, all dressed up and prettified, collapeses on the floor after having the twins.

And that's when I knew I soooo shouldn't of done that. But then I saved and exited (It's a force of habit; I also saved after Bella left Mortimer at the alter), and when I thought, "Oh, right, McCree's twins," well, they were waiting for me in the house.

I still regret that... The twins aren't toddlers yet, and they are the youngest of all of the Second generation of Bluewater (I plan on playing it separately from Pleasantview)... I'm sorta scared to have them grow up someday... It'd be so sad... But I know I gotta. Don't want poor Malcolm stuck with babies forever.

This happened awhile back ago, but I just restarted playing this family, so the story is coming back to me. It's not the greatest tragedy, but it's just a family who has horrendously bad luck.

I had a simmie female name Claira who's ltw was to have 3 kids graduate from college. Okay, that's not so bad. But because college ain't free in my game, and because she was very career-oriented (half fortune) I figured she'd probably want to focus on securing a high level job first before having kids. When she was around level 5-6 in her job, I had her go out at night looking for dates, but she couldn't find anyone with /any/ bolts. Wth?? Her turn-ons didn't help either, (Hat and plant sim, GAH) and she actually ended up getting to the top of the journalism career before she had a man! at this point she was close to the mid point of adulthood, so I risked a couple k's on blind dates. I guess I was too cheap because all her dates HATED her. And they were ugly :*

At this point I'm thinking of just getting a baby daddy, but of course she's consistently rolling "get married" and "marry a rich sim" so I still send her out to every community lot that should have a lot of people. Finally, I run into one of my old forgotten playables at the park at midnight (doy...) who she hits it off with really well. He's the Debateau boy[read:rich!] Peter who's nice, went to college, and has a good job... but grew up getting a lot of his father's [old] features so I never actively found a girl for him. They have 2 dates and decide that they're made for each other and get hitched! He doesn't bring in as much money as I thought. But who cares, start the baby making! And baby making! And baby making.

No luck.

I've got the hidden chime sound and hide the try for baby option so it's all just risky luck. Granted, they were only doing it like once a day so I ended up bumping it up to 2-3 times a day. Finally out of the blue she pops (no nausea or anything!) and just in the nick of time! I'm not sure she'll fullfill that wish to send 3 kids to college, but she'll get to see one!

And that one's name is Kel(adry)! A seemingly pretty girl who doesn't get her most of her dad's old features! Parents are on cloud 9. They'll be elders by the time she's in middle teenhood, but who cares! A baby!

Then Claira gets fired. Then Peter gets fired. They both call and plead with their bosses and get laughed at. So now they can't afford their uber expensive townhome, so they downsize and store things. But that's okay, their 3 kid plan is officially out.

Peter gets fired again, so he stays at home awhile and teaches Kel skills. Finally he gets a job, but it's in the evening along with Claira's, so they have to hire a nanny. Kel is a child at this point.

The nanny does as all nanny's do - she starts dinner, and then realizes she has to pee REALLY bad. Kel is in the kitchen finishing her homework while the nanny runs to the bathroom and stops to tell me she has to pee instead of going to pee >_>

Her dinner is burning. I'm cursing her to hurry up, but alas.... a fire!!! And of course I realize then there's no fire alarm. I cancel Kel's homework really fast and direct her to the phone. Does she do it? NO. I cancel her "freak out, fire fire!!" and direct her to run. Does she do it? NO. And the damn nanny is useless, but I try to keep Kel from the flames long enough for her parents to come home.

She magically catches on fire while being halfway across the room.

Long story short, her parents come home with the kitchen, daughter, and nanny all gone. And Grim is long gone too. Cue the crazy moment, as both parents feared the death of Kel. And then cue the worthless "Have a baby" want, as they're two days from elderhood. This is when I stopped playing.

I've gone back to them now, and Claira quit her job and is slowing climbing up the psychic career. She may not see her daughter through college, but I want her to see her alive again before she kicks it. Peter grew up badly 3 times (toddler to child b/c father passed, child to teen because mom passed, and then adult to elder because daughter passed >_<) so I'm not even sure he's going to see Kel again at all.

You could ask why they just didn't adopt, but I don't want to generate random kids anymore (trying to slow down population growth), and there were currently no kids in my playable fostercare.

I was having Mortimer Goth get married (not to that gold digger Dina but someone his age). So on the wedding day they were getting ready, inviting the guests, serving the food then the guests arrived so I had Mortimer greet them. I looked over at the bride to see what she was doing then I clicked on Alexander and I saw he had the action 'cry softly' so I clicked over to him and everyone was crying. Mortimer had died! The grim reaper was still looking at his names list so I thought "oh that's fine I'll just have some one plead the Grim Reaper but for some reason I just sat their like an idiot watching and when the Grim Reaper disappeared I was like WTF WHY DIDN'T I DO ANYTHING? I was really frustrated with myself -_-

I’ve had several tragedies over the years but the one that comes to mind right now is this.

One of my couples had an only daughter who grew up happy and married her true love. They had both moved up a little in their careers and thought it was time to start a family. So, they moved into a nice house with a hot tub. This was right after a patch or EP came out that overheated the Sims if they stayed in the hot tub too long. I did not know about it or I would have had a fire alarm outside!

So a couple of townies came over and were partying with the husband in the backyard and she goes into labor. I am trying to get the husband to go in the house and one of the townies gets out of the hot tub and starts heading off the lot. Only every single step that he takes the grass starts on fire. So the husband is freaking and I can’t get him to go in the house so I am trying to get him to put out all the fires. So she finally has the baby and I tell her to put the baby in the crib and call the fire dept. Right then her husband catches on fire cause there is fire everywhere. So instead of calling she runs out to her husband and starts freaking so I am trying to get het to put him out but it’s more than they can handle and all I can do is sit there and watch them both die. As I am sitting there in stunned silence the social worker shows up and takes the baby! Then I remember that when you adopt the first kids are ones the social worker takes away so I jump over to the grandparents and tell them to adopt a baby. The baby shows up named Montana which is what Mom named her before she died. So I am assuming that it was their grandchild. All was good for awhile but since the grandparent were so old the last one died right after she turned into a teen. Guess it could have been worse. If Grandma had died two days earlier she’d of seen the social worker again and I would never have known what happened to her.

Someone asked about what happens when pets die. I've had a few dogs die of old age, and this is what Grimmy does: he shows up and starts his schpiel, and suddenly notices that his victim is a dog. He stops and pulls out his little pink celphone, talks for a few seconds, and then hangs up and his shoulders slump. He pulls a stick out from behind his back and shows it to the dog, gibbering to it excitedly, and the dog jumps around happily. Finally he throws the stick up into the air, and the dog leaps up after it and they all fade out of existence. It's really sweet. :)

I play with autonomy on but I generally direct what people do most of the time. The closest I've been to a tragedy was more just bittersweet -- an old lady died minutes after her grandson aged up to a child. But I seem to recall the party score was still pretty good. :P Granny Jane now haunts her daughter's family, and while she was a sweet lady in life she's a rather nasty ghost. She likes to haunt her grandsons' beds while they're asleep, which wakes them up, and then she leaps out of the bed and frightens them. One night she did that to little Ricky three or four times and I was afraid he'd die, but somehow he survived the night.

My sister had a great little Sims 1 tragedy -- she had a young couple madly in love, and they were standing on the carpet smooching when the fireplace set the carpet on fire. They both died and then the girl's sister moved in to sweep up the ashes. D:

I have three tragedies one is I first started the sims 2 like back in 2006 I believe I had a couple Steven and Samantha Graham I made upstairs but I didn't know how to up there so everytime they went upstairs I was stuck down stairs until I learned to click there pics duh idiotic me anyways the woman got pregnant yay she wanted to cook a fire started and lets just say I didn't have a phone and they all died... stupid me.
The second was Sandie Wilde he was a beautiful teenage boy the "heartthrob " of the town pushed Don Lothario off his throne so I was at Lothario's house Don cooked and lets just say Sandie ate died I was shocked I even cried so for I killed Don eye for eye tooth for tooth.
And last was my cousins Miller family I was wondering y she had a tombstone in her back yard so I went to her house they were miserable there was a mom dad two teenage boys and a little girl the dad died the boys were miserable they almost died I quickly moved them to college the little girl got tooken away and was adopted by one of my families and now the moms alone selling things to keep her house.
