Update 4 of Dreams lost, all comments including constructive criticism welcomed
Their wedding day dawned clear and bright.
Even the sun had put on her finest for the special day,
giving her blessing with a soft warmth that bathed them all.
In front of all of their friends the became Mr. and Mrs. Valdrez.
It was the truly the stuff dreams were made of,
it seemed as if every love song ever sung
had been sung just for them,
every poem of love written just for them.
There with her friends,
the ones that had been there through the roughest times, she now shared her happiest moment.
Each part of the day seemed just as sweet as the last,
and Issy knew that her happily ever after was finally here.
There were many toasts made,
congratulating the happy couple,
As well as hundreds of photos taken
to forever preserve their special day.
By the end they were both exhausted and ready to leave.
Issy's first ride in a limo was on the way to the airport, they were to honeymoon in Cuernevaca, Mexico. The place of Carlos birth. There she met his Familia, and they welcomed her into their home. Carlos and Issy's days were filled with siteseeing ventures and their nights with the passion of newlyweds. They visited the Pyramids, and climbed to the top, shopped in local market places, they sunbathed on the beaches of Acapulco with its white sand and lavish hotels that hid the squalor just a few blocks away, there they chased each other through the sand, and made love under a starry sky. Some days they did nothing more then stay in getting to know Carlos family. Issy fell in love with his Mama and before it was time to leave, had begun calling her Madre. She heard stories of Carlos and his misadventures in his youth. How he came to be an American, and the love he had for both his motherland and the country that had taken him in to allow him to achieve his dreams. Never had Issy felt so deeply happy.
Two months in Mexico had left Issy exhausted, it seemed she couldn't get enough sleep. Carlos began to worry that maybe she had caught something while they were in Mexico. A trip to the doctor though confirmed that they had nothing to worry about, except how to decorate their nursery. They were going to be parents!
Sharing her pregnancy with her husband was a wonderful experience, even if his constant need to touch her stomache did exasperate her at times. She had always heard of mothers to be having that pregnancy glow, but she was positive Carlos had the glow as well!
As happy as she was, Isabel was still scared. She had difficulty sleeping at night, as thoughts of Joshua ran through her mind.
She shed many tears in the months awaiting her baby's arrival, tears for her son and how much she still missed holding him, and tears of fear that this baby too would not be allowed to grow up and achieve his or her dreams.
She often awoke straight up in bed after yet another nightmare of finding her son dead in his crib. Would this baby be ok, would she be able to just enjoy being a mother without obsessing over losing another child.
20th Apr 2006, 10:36 AM
Seven months into her pregnancy Isabel began having contractions, she was terrified, was this going to be the end of her fairytale. She began to wonder if she was ever allowed a happily ever after. The contractions stopped as quickly as they began, the doctor told her to just take things a bit easy, but everything seemed to be fine and their little girl was healthy.
Seven months turned into eight and eight to nine. Isabel's stomache grew as did her love for Carlos. He never made her feel anything less then perfect. They enjoyed each other's company and spent every chance they had together. It was hard somedays as Carlos often had to be out of town for Congressional meetings and such, leaving Issy alone with her fears. But his return was always sweet and she would quickly forget how lonely she had been when he was gone.
Three days before her due date, Issy awoke to terrible cramping pains. It was time, their little girl was on her way! Megan's labor went much quicker then Joshua's, lasting only 7 hours. After an hour of pushing she made her arrival at 1:15 p.m. Just 8 hours after Issy had awoken to the first contractions. They sat in the hospital room for hours just staring at their new daughter, both in awe of the life they had created together.
Three days later they brought Megan home.
Isabel had thought she would never hold another child of her own again,
and now here they were a Familia.
Carlos snuck into the room behind Isabel, placed his arms gently around her waist and turned her to him. "My love, today we are the happiest people on this Earth, God has been good to us, and now we have an even greater reason to continue our fight to keep our Earth whole and clean! What a wonderful gift you are and what a treasure you have given to me."
Issy closed her eyes as their mouths melted together, feeling the familiar and pleasant warmth spreading through her body.
Isabel quickly and easily melded into the role of full time mother and wife of a Congressmen. She loved every second she spent with Megan and dreamed of adding more children to her family. Time was running out though and her biological clocks ticking seemed to echo all to loudly in her head, reminding her that if more children were to come she would be wise not to wait too long.

Parenthood fit Carlos and Isabel like a favorite pair of old jeans. They loved watching Megan grown, and began plans to add to their family. Both agreed that a little boy this time would be extra nice.
Isabel's age made conceiving a bit more difficult this time around and Megan was almost two before they recieved the welcome news that another little one was on the way.
This pregnancy was much more difficult then her others, she was sick most of the time her first trimester. She felt she was on a first name basis with her toilet by the time she finally moved into the second trimester of her pregnancy. It wasn't easy being that sick and caring for a busy little girl.
Megan was definitely a busy toddler, she constantly followed her mommy and daddy around, and loved asking questions. It was all both of them could do to keep up with her, and by the end of each day, they all fell into bed exhausted!
Their second child was born right before Megan's third birthday. Megan was thrilled to have a little sister and called her "my" baby. She followed her mother everywhere to keep watch over her baby, Anna.
Carlos really longed for a boy, but cherished both his daughters. Megan held a special place in his heart though as she was his first. She had her daddy wrapped around her little finger the moment she had been born. As soon as he would walk through the door, Megan was in his arms and stayed there most of the time Papa' was home!
By the time Ana was old enough to chase Megan through the house, there was another little one on the way.
Through all those years, Isabel had never let go of her hopes and dreams of owning a business again. She talked to Carlos and he agreed to help her, they decided a small roadside stand would be the best way to start, especially with her busy schedule. That way she could open on days when he was home for the most part. Issy had never been more excited, a third child on the way, her own business and a man whom she adored. Everything she had though she lost she had found and more.
They worked hard the next months, Issy baked and canned getting ready to open her stand. She decided she would sell flowers as well as baked goods and canned goods. When they were in season she would sell produce as well, but for now all the garden surplus was being canned. Carlos helped as much as he could, but his campaign for a Senate seat was taking up much of his time.
Isabel found herself growing more and more lonely with each of Carlos's long absences. She tried to be supportive, but at times she longed just to have her husband home by her side.
It was during one of his longer absences that Isabel went into labor. A neighbor drove her to the hospital, and Maya came over to be her coach. Carlos flew in as quickly as he could, he arrived in time for their third daughter, Emily's, birth. Isabel and Emily both came through fine, but Issy began to wonder if she could handle carrying and giving birth to anymore children. Maybe it was time to stop. Carlos pleaded with her to try one more time for the son he desperately wanted.
More coming later today :)
22nd Apr 2006, 7:42 PM
Megan, Anna, and Emily grew like well tended flowers, so did Issy's roadside stand.
Her belly was also blossoming with the upcoming arrival of baby number four. Issy was in her element running her little stand. She loved finding the perfect items for her customers, helping them made her happy and being able to keep her girls close to her made it the perfect business for Isabel.
Their fourth child almost killed Isabel, she had begun to hemmorage and the doctors hadn't thought she would pull through. They performed an emergency Hysterectomy. Laying to rest the chances for ever having the son Carlos wanted forever. Isabel was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks recovering, leaving Carlos to take care of his daughters alone. Carlos couldn't believe he had almost lost his wife, he sat that first night staring in their first born daughter's bedroom wondering how he could have been so selfish. It was his fault she was laying in that stark hospital room, hooked up to every kind of maching and fighting for her life. Some way he would make it up to her, he just didn't know how.
Carlos showered Issy at first with attention and gifts, trying to ease his mind when she had returned from the hospital. Eventually his job kept him away so much that it seemed he didn't have the time anymore to do all those special little things for her. As the girls grew, Issy's business seemed to take much of her time, between that and caring for her four princesses she managed not to worry and fret so much during Carlos' long absences. He was now a Senator and it seemed he was away on business more then he was home.
Isabel began to feel she was raising their daughters alone. Still she was happy, she had more then she had ever thought she would, and she understood that sacrifices had to made when you married someone as passionate and powerful as Carlos.
Two years after Racheal, their youngest daughter's birth, Carlos threw a pool party. He wanted to thank all those who had helped him with his campaign. He also made his official announcement. He would be running for Govenor. It was at the pool party that he introduced his new Campaign manager as well, Trisha Evans.
Isabel suddenly began to worry. Trisha was gorgeous, smart, and funny. Every man at the party seemed drawn to her.
She watched all that night, man after man approached Trisha.. but she seemed to only want to spend time with one of them, Her Husband! Isabel was sure she must be imagining things.
It didn't change the facts though, Trisha was perfect, she had the perfect smile, perfect hair (with not a grey strand in sight), and the perfect body. Issy's own body had grown a bit heavy after she had given birth to Racheal, her last baby. She had felt unwell for so long and never took the steps she should have to pull herself back in shape. She had tried to convince herself that it was ok, her body was just more womanly now.. but looking at the way men looked at Trisha, she suddenly decided an exercise routine and diet were in order.
Carlos spent most of his free time with Trisha, he reassured Isabel that it was only business and that he had eyes only for her. But it seemed to Isabel that those eyes had gotten awfully loose in their sockets and began to wander all over.
Isabel hated her, she had more time with her husband then Issy did, she was always there it seemed, for meetings, cocktail parties, Charity events, even his speeches. Carlos saw this woman more then he saw his own wife and children.
She vowed that she would do whatever it took, but the gold digging hussy was not stealing her husband. She had waited too long for her fairytale and no one was going to take that away from her.
Trisha had other ideas. She was tired of making peanuts and she wanted money, lots of it. What better way to get it then to woo the Governor, well future Governor. She made sure she was everything his wife wasn't. She knew all about his business, his goals, and made it her task to learn of all his dreams. She would be the lady when in public with him, standly sedately at his side as if she had nothing to do with his success. In bed though she would be a tiger, she knew that Issy wasn't anymore, children and running a business often left her so tired she just collapsed in bed. Yes, Trisha knew how to snag a man.. and she knew the power she would hold if she could dig her claws into this one. She would get what she wanted, no matter what the cost.

Trisha was born into a working family.
Her father put in long hours at the brick factory.
Her mother would come home, her feet and back aching from another long shift waitressing. She knew she didn’t want that kind of life.
As an only child, her parents strived to make her life as easy as possible. They spent more then they could afford on Trisha’s clothes, her many activities and the art lessons Trish was sure she needed.
By high school, Trish had worked out her life plan, she knew what she wanted and she began working for it. She dated only the right boys, never getting too serious, never being too easy. She joined the right clubs, volunteered to help with campaigns, was seen with the right people. Contacts, she knew it was all about who you knew and how you worked your game.
In college she joined the most influential Sorority on campus. She worked hard in her studies and graduated with honors. With her Masters degree in political science she was all set to achieve her goals and dreams.
Now after all the hard work, here she was… wooing the future Governor. It wouldn’t be long now, and of course if he didn’t get elected there was always some other up and comer to latch onto. But something told her, it was all working out just fine.

Isabel had to work for everything in life, and she approached her new challenge with the same ferocity she had faced other challenges. She made friends again with her treadmill, and chose salads and broiled chicken for her dinners instead of the higher caloried steak and seafood her family loved so much. It wasn’t an easy task, but as she stood in front of her mirror, looking at her new shapelier figure, she was sure it was worth it. Had Carlos noticed everything she had went through, was it enough to save their marriage. She certainly hoped so. If it wasn’t she would find out what more needed to be done, she wasn’t going to let go of this dream easily and she wouldn’t let that Hussy, pretending to be campaign manager steal her children’s father away from them!
In the hustle and bustle of campaign speeches, special appearances, and hand shaking
Carlos and Isabel hadn’t noticed that something had changed, dramatically with their oldest daughter, Megan. Once bright, active, and cheerful, she had begun to sleep more, read more, and stay in her room more often. She came home straight from school and often needed a nap, sometimes sleeping right through dinner. She began to complain that she ached all the time. Isabel grew concerned but was sure it was just growing pains, she was getting bigger all the time. She watched her precious daughter closer the next few days, and decided that a trip to their family Physician wouldn’t hurt anything. She made the appointment for a few days after the elections.
Carlos was still in shock, he had made it. He was now Governor, the weight of his new role weighed heavily on his shoulders. He could help make real changes now. As he looked around him he saw his beautiful daughters and wife and wondered at how far he had come from his simple Mexican beginnings to this dream life in the United States. As Carlos drew Isabel into his arms for the traditional first dance, their eyes met and he felt that familiar jolt. It wasn’t that he didn’t love Isabel; it was just that his life with her had become so predictable. They ate, drank, played and even made love all on a schedule, it wasn’t really quite that bad, but that was how it felt. The spontaneity of everything had left and what he found underneath the fires of passion was a comfortable life but one that seemed lacking in the fire he lived for. He wasn’t the only politician to ever think of keeping a little fun on the side, it worked for others, why not him. As long as Isabel never found out, what could it hurt?
28th Apr 2006, 6:12 AM
urgggggggggg..............mens...............idoits...............i don't need something that drama right now.............urggggggggggggggggg............LOL..........continue on......would like to see more of the story...........

I would like to know what everyone prefers with the photos, a photo every few lines of the story, or a collage of photos over the relevant text...(as was done in last two episodes) I am open to doing it either way, but felt like I sometimes would only have a sentence or two for every photo at times.
29th Apr 2006, 12:31 AM
woah, he`s an idiot.
i like the collage of photos.

“I want to have a baby, and because of my hectic schedule it needs to be well planned. Is there any way you can help me Dr. Richardson?”
Frank was entranced by the beautiful creature in front of him, he shook his head and redirected his mind to where it belonged, “Yes I think I can, from your history it seems you haven’t had any problems in the past. First let’s start with having you do a Basal Body Temperature Chart, that way we can see exactly when you normally ovulate, it will also just make sure everything is up and running as it should. Also, I noticed on your chart that there is no husband; do you have a boyfriend you will be having this baby with? “
“No! I am doing this all alone, my clock is ticking you know, and I think I will make a wonderful mother.”
Frank smiled; it seemed a lot of his patients these days were single parenting, although very few of them made this decision on purpose. “ Well then you will need to find a sperm donor, I can give you the names of several companies and you can research them, then when you choose one, they will send the vials to me and we will see if we can’t get you pregnant.”
Trish rolled her eyes in exasperation, “You don’t understand doctor, I don’t have a boyfriend, but I don’t intend to get pregnant by a turkey baster either, it just seems to impersonal to me... I have a friend in mind who will be more then happy to donate to me, in person. Your job is to make sure when he makes his little deposit there is something there for them to swim to.”
She left the doctor’s office with a smile on her face, this was going to be easier then she had thought.
Trisha was by Carlos’ side constantly in the upcoming weeks, for speeches, ribbon cutting ceremonies, and for their own personal pleasure.
After a particularly steaming evening out, she asked Carlos home with her. She had him right where she wanted him now.
And once her sharp claws were sunk in, it would be no easy task removing them. She had every detail of his entrapment planned and it was all going beautifully.
The doctor had ordered a battery of tests after examining Megan and listening to her symptoms. It was an excruciating process for Isabel to watch her daughter go through, the worst being the spinal tap.
Now here they sat, waiting to find out what was ailing their precious daughter. “ I have reviewed the test results, and I am afraid that Megan has Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia . It’s the most common form of Leukemia in children, although usually we see cases in much younger patients. The prognosis is really great though that Megan will come through this. We need to start treatment right away, as this is a fairly aggressive disease. We will be using Chemotherapy and possibly radiation as well to treat it if it becomes present in her brain. I am referring you to a Pediatric Onocologist, a good friend of mine, Dr. Billings. He will fill you in more on what to expect next.
Do you have any questions for me?” Isabel, Carlos, and Megan sat there, too stunned to speak, after an eternity of seconds, Megan spoke up in a shakey, small voice, “Does this mean I am going to die?” she spoke what was on both her parents minds, the question they were too frightened to ask.
Dr. Campobosso smiled gently at the little girl he had delivered, “I’m going to be honest with you Megan, you are a brave, strong girl, and I think you deserve to know the truth. We are going to do our best not to let you die, and you have to do your part too, you have to fight hard to live. I can’t promise you that you won’t die, even if we all do our best, but your chances of living are much bigger then your chances of dying.” Isabel and Carlos had a million thoughts running through their minds, but not one of those thoughts would settle down so it could be voiced. Dr. Campobosso encouraged them both to write down any questions they had so they could ask them to Dr. Billings when they met with him.
As they walked out of the clinic, Isabel couldn’t help but notice how bright the sun seemed to be shining, and how blue the sky was, or how warm her little girls hand felt in her own.

“Megan’s leukemia is aggressive; her white cell count is quite high already. I am going to arrange for Megan to have a Central Venous Catheter inserted, she will be seeing Dr. Ramsey for this; he is an excellent pediatric surgeon. I would then like to go ahead and start Megan on Chemotherapy, there will be three stages for her therapy. The first two stages are probably the hardest, and Megan will need all your support. We call the first stage Induction Chemotherapy, Megan will be staying in the hospital about a month for this initial treatment. Our hope is to get rid of 99% of the Leukemia cells during this phase. The Chemo will be administered through the catheter that Dr. Ramsey inserts for us.” Dr. Billings was a beautiful woman with a kind face; her office was decorated to appeal to her young patients. Megan felt better just being in the room with her.
“Will I really lose all my hair?” Megan was particularly proud of her hair, it was long and thick, just like her Mama’s and she couldn’t imagine her head without it, she would feel naked.
Dr. Billings looked into the little girls eyes and could sense the fear behind them; she spoke carefully not wanting to cause her little patient more concern. “You will lose your hair for awhile, but it will grow back quickly, and your mom can buy you a wig if you really want, or there are some really cool hats and scarves you can wear to match your outfits!”
Isabel was still reeling from the devastating news they had received a couple of weeks ago, she had tried to find some peace with their journey ahead, but in the end she just couldn’t, this was her baby sick! “What about a Bone Marrow transplant? Is that a possibility?” Despite trying to keep her voice strong it had wavered and her eyes had misted up again, it seemed she had spent the better part of nights crying since she had received the diagnosis.
“Bone Marrow treatment is given in the second stage of treatment. We will want to have all of Megan’s sisters tested to see if any of them are a match, if not we will put her on the list for an unrelated donor. I would like to have Megan admitted to the hospital as soon as possible so we can begin treatments.”
“Just like that.” Thought Carlos, “Our lives have been completely turned upside down in just a blink of an eye, my daughter could be snatched away from me, in just a small flash of time, just like that.” Megan was admitted to Mills Memorial Hospital the next week, and all of her sisters were tested for matches. Now they just had to wait for the results.
Carlos was pacing in his office a few short days later; his life was now officially a complete mess. Why did he think hiring Trisha was a good idea? Now she had him, his entire political career lay in her hands. He still wished he hadn’t taken that awful phone call this morning.
“Carlos, we need to talk. I went to the Doctor yesterday; I didn’t want to say anything if I wasn’t sure, no need to worry you over nothing. He told me I’m pregnant.
“Carlos can’t remember much of that conversation; he knows he asked her if she was sure it was his. She was furious at the implications,
“Of course it is you Jacka**! I haven’t been with anyone else; if you don’t believe me we can do a paternity test. What are we going to do? “ He could almost see her batting those long eyelashes, and then hated himself for thinking she could be deceitful; this was just an accident, no more her fault then his. They just weren’t careful enough.
“You understand, I can’t ever have this becoming public. Look I will get you a place, outside of town, and you can work on my campaign from home, no one needs to see that you are, you know, “ He couldn’t even say the words.
“Pregnant, Carlos, I am pregnant and it’s your baby!”
“Yes, pregnant, with my baby. “This had to be some kind of bad dream, what if Isabel ever found out. “I’ll take care of things, you don’t have to worry about that, and you know I care about you Trisha, I just can’t risk losing my career or my family over this, so we have to be discreet. Can you understand that? “
“Oh I can be discreet, Lover, just don’t forget about me, or your little one.”
As he hung up the phone, he slowly sunk down in his chair; this was the last thing he wanted to have on his mind. He reached over and hit his call button, “Marcy, can you please get my realtor on the phone.”
2nd May 2006, 3:58 AM

2nd May 2006, 5:42 AM
Yes she is definitely a gold digger, but Carlos wasn't exactly hesitant to fall for her either, he definitely adores Isabel (and who couldn't) but his eyes are quite "loose in the sockets" as Isabel said.
2nd May 2006, 1:11 PM
i hope she doesn`t do anything stupid!
4th May 2006, 2:40 AM
I think she already did do something stupid.. the question is how much worse can it get? Episode 10 will be posted in the next day or 2 :)
5th May 2006, 7:33 AM
Isabel sat by her daughter’s side the next weeks, watching her lively, sunny girl become weaker and weaker. She held her as she cried over her lost hair, her lost energy, her lost childhood.
Isabel chose her moments of grief carefully, stolen tears shed only when she could be alone. .
Her beautiful little girl was hardly recognizable as her head became bare, and dark circles formed under her eyes. The spark that had always been there was gone.
She was so tired and sick most of the time, but there were days when she would feel a little stronger and want to go to the playroom to play. Those were the days they both clung to, struggling to keep a grasp on anything that could be normal, struggling to remember a time when Cancer wasn’t part of their normal vernacular.
They had finally gotten the results of their other daughter’s tests back, and it seemed that a donor match was all they could rely on now. Dr. Billings had placed Megan on the list and now there was nothing they could do but wait some more. It seemed that a lot of this illness was nothing but waiting, waiting for white blood cell counts, waiting for treatments, waiting for the life saving bone marrow, waiting for life to return.
After the first stage of treatments were over they took their little girl home from the hospital, the chemo had worked better then they had thought, they weren’t able to find any Leukemia cells in Megan’s blood work.
Dr. Billings was cautiously optimistic, “This doesn’t mean its all gone, its just been reduced to a level so low that we can no longer see it, Megan still needs to be monitored closely and will have a Bone Marrow Transplant as soon as we can find a suitable donor. She will also be continuing the Chemotherapy, but now it can be administered on an outpatient basis.”
The next months would be filled with more trips to the hospital, more throwing up, more waiting.
Megan and her parents weren’t the only ones waiting around, Trisha was also waiting. She was waiting for the awful morning sickness to leave, and anxious to have her body back in her control.
She loved the new house Carlos had bought for her; it was a gorgeous, 3 bedroom, two story townhouse, decorated in tasteful Modern Deco. Every bit of space was carefully used, it even boasted a lovely outdoor covered deck, it was perfect for entertaining, of course the entertaining would have to wait until she had managed to shed the awful belly she found herself lugging around.
She spent her days puttering around the house, enjoying the freedom to catch up on some sleep, and eating just about whatever she wanted, including her favorite dinner of fried chicken. Savoring, for the first time since she could remember, not having the need to count calories. Carlos had generously hired a staff to watch over her, of course it took a small hint or two dropped on Trisha’s part, reminding him how all alone she would be and how that could be dangerous to his baby. In the end he thought he came up with idea all on his own.
Decorating the nursery kept her occupied for a short while, and she made frequent trips shopping for new clothing, and furnishings for her new home. All at the kind Governor’s expense.
When he could, Carlos would drop in to check on her, and his baby. He insisted on rubbing her stomach and acting like a smitten fool, she would smile, but the thoughts that ran through her head, it was definitely to her advantage that people couldn’t read thoughts! She couldn’t wait to get the thing out of her and have her figure back, but of course, Carlos couldn’t know that, she cunningly played the part of the content Mother-in-waiting.
She kept up with his career via the internet, writing his speeches, making sure his public appearances were all arranged, standing quietly in the background just as she had planned. It was during one of her many computer sessions that she read about him, a Native born United States Citizen, with the potential to one day be President. Maybe it was about time for her to move up.

I am not fishing for undeserved praise, but I do need to know if its not worth reading then I will move on to another one. Please let me know I welcome constructive critisism. It can only make me better, and if you are enjoying the story and want to see more, I would like to know that too :).

“Do Mama and Papa remember us?” Rachael had been out swinging, and noticed their Nanny had shown up again, it seemed to her that her parents had simply fallen off the face of the earth.
“Of course they do, silly; it’s just that Megan is so sick they have to spend a lot of time taking care of her.”
Rachael sat and pondered her bigger sisters wisdom, her little mind trying to wrap around what being ill meant,” do they still love us as much as Megan?”
“Quit being silly Rachael, you know Mama and Papa love us, they tell us so every time they kiss us goodnight, now go play, I’m trying to study here!” Anna shoved her nose firmly back into the book she was reading, hoping her sister would quit asking questions, questions she wasn’t so sure of herself
Rachael wasn’t alone in her worries, Anna and Emily sat up nights wondering if their big sister would ever be ok again, wondering if their life would ever be happy again.
“Carlos, we need to talk now.” Carlos slowly turned from the plant he was watering, his beautiful bride looked unhappy, and suddenly his throat was digging a hole through his chest, she couldn’t know.
“Okay Mi Querida, what is on your mind?” he tried his hardest not to let her see the beads of sweat forming on his brow, and hoped that she wouldn’t notice how wet his palms had suddenly become.
“I was shopping downtown Carlos, and I saw someone,” Isabel had been doing her best to hold her anger and hurt back, since she had been shopping, but it had festered inside her and now the boil was ready to burst,
“ Trisha, Carlos I saw Trisha, and she is huge... she’s having a baby! Is that why she suddenly disappeared, is there something you should tell me now?”
Trapped, there was no way out of this without lying to her, he could almost feel his pupils dilating, his heart thundering in his head, his saliva disappearing, leaving his mouth full of sand. “Issy, its not what you th th th think…” he was stuttering, when had that annoying habit crop back up,
“Carlos, what is it then, because what I think is that hussy is carrying your kid around in her belly, what I think is that you have taken leave of every bit of good decent sense your parents ever gave you, for a piece of Tail! So you tell me, is it what I think Carlos?”
He didn’t know what to do, should he confess everything and risk losing his wife and children, or would lying save everything he had worked so hard for. He swallowed the piece of bone that seemed to have mysteriously wedged itself in his throat, “Calm down, we need to talk and the garden is hardly an appropriate place for the talk we are going to have. “
As Carlos led Isabel back inside he could hear the phone ringing. “Papa, you have a phone call, its that Trisha lady and she said its real important, she sounded mad Papa!”
He loved Anna, but he would have paid anything for her to be at school where she belonged, right now.
7th May 2006, 10:25 PM
oooh, nice! i like the way that you use constructive criticism!
the bold was in the RIGHT place!
oooh, i wonder how this is gunna play out..
8th May 2006, 2:42 AM
Darn, I was so wrapped up into the story...I was looking for more! Poor Isabel, Carlos should be honest, if he's not it will make things so much worse for them.
8th May 2006, 8:35 AM
great update.........i wonder if trisha is about to give birth........i'm enjoying this story lots......hurry up and update soon....
8th May 2006, 4:28 PM
Carlos quickly retreated with the phone into his study, very aware of his wife’s glare boring through his retreating backside. “Trish, Can I call you back,” He barely finished that much when he noticed a strange huffing sound on the other line,
“I’m at the hospital, Carlos, pant* pant*, it’s finally time, *pant *pant, get over here quick, WHERE IS THE DOCTOR?! I WANT MY EPIDURAL NOW!!! ““Trish, I don’t think I can come right now...” Could anyone’s timing really be this bad? Carlos knew that things couldn’t get much worse then they were right then “What do you mean you can’t come right now, you did this to me, you will come right now, I am not doing this alone!”
It seemed a good day for Women everywhere to yell at him, “Trisha, its not that I don’t want to come, of course I want to be there, its just that things have come to a head with Isabel and me, she saw you out shopping and wants some answers, now.
“I don’t care if God himself has called you to heaven, you will get you’re a** here, I NEED THAT EPIDURAL NOW! Oh GOD ANOTHER ONE IS COMING… CARLOS, GET OVER HERE AND QUIT STALLING, DON’T SCREW WITH ME IF YOU KNOW WHAT’S GOOD FOR YOU!” the phone became muffled and he could hear her screaming in the background, when she came back her voice was much calmer, “I’m sorry baby, I’m in so much pain, I don’t mean to be so awful to you.”
“I know, I will see what I can do to get over there quickly, don’t worry, I will come up with something, just hang on until I get there.” He was lying through his teeth, how in God’s name was he going to get out of this mess, Isabel was waiting in the living room with storm clouds hanging over her head, and now Trisha was huffing and puffing in a delivery room alone, he couldn’t leave her there. “Isabel, something has come up and I have to go now. I am sorry darling but we will continue this conversation as soon as I get home.”
He jogged, no sprinted for his truck, before Isabel could respond. There would be he** to pay when he returned home, but he would worry about that then, he was about to be a father again!
Epidurals are wonderful things when they work right, Trisha’s didn’t work right, she screamed and cussed through the entire ordeal and Carlos was sure that she was going to refuse to push,
But in the end there they were, holding two tiny beautiful little boys, his sons. She let him name one, and he called him Miguel after his father, and she named the other, Trey. They both looked a lot like him and he wasn’t sure that was a great thing in this case.
Still he couldn’t help but bust a few buttons and he stood there staring at them. They were the best looking boys he had ever seen. Lying there in their bassinets, they looked so undisturbed by the turmoil they had just been born into.
“Trish I don’t know what I am going to do, I think I have fallen in love with you, but I still care about Isabel. “
He gathered her in his arms kissing her tenderly.
“Don’t worry, I understand you have to stay married to her, after all a divorce would ruin your career, its enough for me to know that I am loved by such a wonderful man.”
But it wasn’t Carlos that Trisha was thinking of that night as she fell asleep, it was John Hancock. What would it take to catch a man like that?
8th May 2006, 4:32 PM
John had been born with a silver spoon in his mouth; everyone assumed that meant that his life had been easy. Everyone would be wrong.
His father was a typical Military man, Marine to be more specific and ran his home like bootcamp.
He vividly remembers the day he had failed to come home from school on time. His father had made him march for 4 hours straight, until his 8 year old legs had simply given out on him.
His mother had longed for a little girl to share female fripperies with, and instead was given him, an all American, come home with torn out knees and mud in his ears, boy. She chose to pretend he didn’t exist, so he was raised by his nanny, Margie.
Margie had been kind to him, had even loved him, but a nanny was no replacement for caring parents and he felt the loss of love keenly. He tried to rebel, but it wasn’t in his nature, instead he went out of his way to gain his parents approval and attention.
He excelled in school, joined the Marines and through them graduated Law School with the highest Honors, now he was done serving his time with the Military, his debt paid in full and ready to begin practicing law.
He had been contacted by Winsom and Son’s Inc. a prestigious law firm and had taken a position with them. Still his parents were never happy, his Father was disappointed he hadn’t made a career of the Military; his mother was disappointed that he was a boy. He even thought at one time of marrying some girl, just so his mother could have a granddaughter, but that wasn’t going to happen.
Women had no place in life right now, maybe someday but now was definitely not the time, he would save women for his nightly amusements and let some other poor sap be stuck with them for life.
Besides, his Father had died a year ago, and Mother had joined him just 5 months later.
He was alone and it would stay that way.
8th May 2006, 11:43 PM
gosh darn it.......trisha gave him the son he wanted.......and twin sons to boot.........now's carlos' really gonna ge attach to that bloodsucking woman...........urgggg.............poor issy and the girls..........MENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9th May 2006, 12:10 AM
Oh my gosh. Have Isabel divorce Carlos and marry John. It would serve Trisha right.
Nah Lifa......that wouldn't be such a good idea......what if trisha somehow manages to lure john into her trap too......then that would mean that issy got played twice........and all because of trisha........
9th May 2006, 2:30 AM
omg twins i agree with everybody above abput this chaoter
9th May 2006, 4:00 AM
whoa, Carlos needs to be killed off.
he kissed that girl!!!
9th May 2006, 4:08 AM
Lol, unfortunately the grim reaper rarely visits those who we think he should, and often visits though who we think he shouldn't ;).
9th May 2006, 4:14 AM
i hope not the little girl.
p.s., i like the way you drop little hints like that!
9th May 2006, 4:30 AM
LOL your welcome, but to be honest I don't always drop the right hints LOL.. when I write the story can take on a life of its own, going places I never expected it to go.. so what I plan in my mind and what comes to be is often two different things. Take for Instance Isabel catching Trish out and confronting Carlos, was never part of my initial plan.. but that is how it goes LOL!
9th May 2006, 5:56 AM
wow, great update!! I loved the labor pics, well done!
9th May 2006, 2:50 PM

10th May 2006, 9:59 AM
Enjoy your teen years, they don't last long. I have to say though you couldn't pay me enough to be a teen again, the 20's were great though, and so far the 30's haven't been bad ;)
10th May 2006, 4:08 PM
What a brilliant story..Keep up the great work, you have me hooked!
10th May 2006, 5:12 PM
Thank you Leos and everyone else for the encouragement, I am truly enjoying writing this story and have several different potential plots, twists, and turns in mind along the way, only time will tell what Isabel decides, if Megan lives, and whether Carlos will regret his decisions. As For John I do have some wonderful thoughts in mind for him, but we will see where they go. There will also be new characters introduced I am sure as time goes on, after all its not too long before the girls are old enough to start dating ;). It may be a bit before the next update though as I have to focus on my other hobby, doll-making and do a bit of catch up on that. I promise though at least one update a week :comp: so keep the comments coming, I do love hearing what you think, who you love, who you love to hate (btw I am still laughing over the melty barby analogy of Trisha! That is my favorite description to date of her, she is hated in this household as well). Thanks again guys :).
14th May 2006, 9:50 PM
Update coming in a couple of days, I haven't forgot, its all written, just have to do the photos now ;)
15th May 2006, 4:16 AM
Wow great story from what I have read, interesting all the way from beginning to end.
That Trisha really gets your blood boiling.
15th May 2006, 4:23 AM
ooh, okay. i`m gunna be waiting!
16th May 2006, 8:33 AM
Thanks again for the comments... and without further delay,
Carlos returned, tired and weary
from the long night at the hospital with Trisha,
knowing that h*ll was about to descend upon him.
As he drove up to the house its dark windows glared back at him.
Isabel’s van was gone.
His heart skipped a beat, but still he plowed ahead,
getting out of the truck and walking up the front steps.
Strange not a sound came from inside the house.
He threw his keys down on the table by the door
and looked around, never had silence been so loud,
never had his heart felt so suddenly alone.
She couldn’t have left,
he kept repeating over and over to himself,
she wouldn’t just leave without letting me talk to her.
His girls, where were they,
they had to be at a dance rehearsal,
or maybe Megan had to go to the hospital,
Oh God, what if she had gotten sick!
He trudged up the stairs and
walked into their bedroom,
as he turned to leave again he saw the note,
taped to the dresser mirror.
Like walking into a brick wall,
the reality of what he had done hit him,
he just lost everything important in his life.
As he wandered around his empty home that night,
he knew he would do anything to get his family back.
He needed to have a long talk with Trisha first.
“How long are we staying here Megan?”
Megan was out playing with her sisters,
it was one of her better days and she
enjoyed getting out in the sunshine and running around.
“I don’t know Anna, Mama says
we just need a vacation so we are staying
here for a couple of weeks.”
Anna sighed “I don’t think that’s really the reason we are here though.”
She remembers the lady calling,
and she heard Papa talking to her Mama
out in the garden, Mama had seemed really
angry about something.
When her Mama had told the girls to pack up a bag,
she had noticed the tear streaks down her Mama’s cheeks
and how red her eyes were. She knew that lady Trisha
had something to do with it too.
“I think Mama is mad at Papa because of that
Trisha woman, her and Papa were having a fight
yesterday, and then that Trisha lady called and Papa left.”
Emily had just wandered into the conversation,
she had stood there long enough to form her own fears,
” What if they get a divorce Megan?
My friend, Mel, her parents got divorced last
year and she says it’s awful that her daddy disappeared
and she hasn’t seen him since!”
Rachael couldn’t stay quiet any longer
and from behind the oak tree she began to wail
“I don’t want Papa to leave us! I love Papa!”
All three of the younger girls burst into tears.
16th May 2006, 8:40 AM
“I don’t know what to do Maya, I love Carlos,
and this life was so much like a fairy tale,
until that awful witch showed up.”
Maya smiled gently at her friend, she had been through so much with her, that seeing her now, so broken,
well it made her spitting mad!
How could this jerk do this to her,
the sweetest lady Maya had ever met!
“Look Isabel, you don’t deserve to be
treated like this, I know a great lawyer,
he will make sure that you and the girls are
well taken care of and that Carlos gets what he deserves.
If it was up to me, I would make sure he could never
walk upright again!”
Maya had done well for herself in the years
since Isabel had left her home,
the girls were seniors in high school
and both had scholarships lined up
for them as soon as they graduated.
Maya owned her own wedding boutique,
and even had a line of wedding gowns she designed
herself. Right now she was just happy she could
help her best friend out when she needed it most.
“I can’t just leave him Maya, it isn’t that simple,
there are the girls to think of, and I still love him.
I just don’t know.”
Isabel could only sit there and think of
the good times her and Carlos had together,
from their fairy tale wedding,
to bringing home each of their daughters.
Carlos had been there for her,
he still told her he loved her, and she stilled loved him
maybe she was just making too much out of this.
16th May 2006, 10:45 AM

Glad you all are enjoying the story, episode 14 is just around the corner...should be up within a few days. I have to say doing the drama/soap theme has been quite a bit of fun, just coming up with new twists and plots keeps me on my toes.
23rd May 2006, 5:22 AM
Episode 14 will be up within the next 2 days, sorry it has taken a bit this time, a lot going on at home and have been working on my other hobby, doll making lately.
23rd May 2006, 2:02 PM
“It has to end Trisha, I can’t see you anymore.” Carlos was weary, the kind of weary that strips you of everything good, the kind of weary that leave your eyes full of dust and your mouth full of cotton.
He hadn’t slept the night before, and tonight wasn’t going to be much better. Isabel still wouldn’t take his phone calls.
Now Trisha stood there next to his son looking like a pot ready to boil over, and oh what a brilliant boil over it was to be! “Fine, then leave Carlos, but just remember, I made you who you are, without me you will be nothing, and with my little expose’ published, I think its safe to say your run as Governor will be over in just one term. Unless, of course, you can think of some other way to make this up to me. Of course I don’t really see how that would be possible; after all I did just give birth to your sons.” ”
It was as if he had put on those flimsy x-ray glasses, the kind they try to sell you as a kid when you want to see Suzy’s underpants, only these x-ray glasses worked, they showed you the soul, and what he saw made him step back and the color drain from his face.
She was a political whore, she sold herself, her identity for a few gold coins, and he was just a John to her, he meant nothing except a way to get exactly what she wanted. He had fallen right into her trap and now here he was with nowhere to go, no choice but to play her game.
“Cut the Bullshi*, Trish, and just tell me what its going to take to get rid of you?” his voice had a steely edge to it; a steel he hoped would cut deep and hurt.
“I only want what’s best for our sons; it doesn’t seem fair that their sisters should live the good life while they have to suffer, just because they are illegitimate.” Her voice was syrupy sweet, oozing and flowing from her mouth.
He could feel the bile rising in his throat, how could he have ever thought he loved this woman. How could he have hurt Isabel, for this? “I’ll pay child support, but then that’s not really what you are thinking of, is it. You want more, or am I just insane thinking this was all about how much you could get from me, did you ever care, even for a minute about me, about anyone besides yourself?”
Trisha smiled, not a warm smile, the kind of smile that peels paints and send small children running inside, screaming in terror, the game was on; it was all going to get fun now. “Your right, I do want more, I want everything and you are going to help me get it. First you are, of course, going to pay a generous child support check to me each month, and you are going to keep me in touch politically, I am extremely interested in this new guy running for congress, John Hancock. Has a nice presidential ring don’t you think? I think a nice cocktail party with John would be a wonderful way for me to get better acquainted, seeing as I am single and all, who knows how things could go. Oh and Carlos, of course you won’t breathe a word of any of this to him or anyone else in your little political circle, right? You wouldn’t dare black ball me. “
“It took every bit of strength to not slap her, his jaw clenched and his fingernails bit into his palms, “Of course not, in return you will also keep silent, and the manuscript you are writing, you will destroy. You will stay away from my family, and me. I will deposit your money in your bank account each month and you will vanish from my life.”
“Now Carlos, you know that can’t happen, as much as I would love for it to, it won’t. I need you still, you are the guy with the strings and you are going to pull them for me. Oh and no, I never, not for one minute, felt anything for you, not even pity, you aren’t worth wasting emotion on.”
Carlos left, he wasn’t sad, he wasn’t angry, he was too tired to spend that much energy on feeling right then, his only thought was how he was going to make things right with Isabel and bring his family home, for good.
23rd May 2006, 3:30 PM
i almost feel sorry for him, but he did bring this on himself, great uopdate!
23rd May 2006, 6:30 PM
ohh, she is evil! great writing, i love it:)
24th May 2006, 3:37 PM
Wow, she looks like cruella devil... freaky! Great story by the way! I just started reading it two days ago and I love it! I hope Megan will get better and that Carlos gets his act together and does something really exceptional to get Isabel back.
25th May 2006, 6:54 AM
I bet noone can guess what Celebrity Sim she(trisha) was suppose to be... I tweaked her quite a bit after downloading her for the story but the basic structure is all still there....
25th May 2006, 10:55 AM
Wow it's brilliant, and so real. I was lost in the story!
25th May 2006, 7:48 PM
25th May 2006, 9:17 PM
I can't even think but she looks so familier... :S
26th May 2006, 12:08 AM
Angelina Jolie... I can't remember who created her though, I downloaded her and thought she could be useful in a story with some tweaking...
26th May 2006, 11:38 AM
She looks scary!
26th May 2006, 11:51 AM
Well I was kind of going for the witchy look (and although I think Angelina Jolie is very pretty she has that look at times).. although at times I have to work to get it, without the feirce expressions she can be pretty.
26th May 2006, 7:15 PM
Wow, freaky!
27th May 2006, 1:44 PM
Awesome story, Micaela! Can't wait for Episode 14! Carlos deserves whatever he gets... :eviltongu
May I ask where you got Megan's hair (before it went, poor thing...). It's incredibly beautiful...
27th May 2006, 2:05 PM
Thank you, I am writing the next episode now, in fact just took a break to pop in here and see what was up. I guess I am in the minority, I feel kind of bad for Carlos, he was stupid and his actions were unexcusable, but he does love Isabel, just got caught in the monotony trap and instead of looking for ways to make his home life more interesting, searched elsewhere for excitement. I guess its hard for me to hate him as he is such a wonderful father and was a very loving husband to Isabel, until Trisha showed up.
Now Trisha on the otherhand, I have no merciful feelings for...she should go take a swim in a ladderless pool LOL!
I don't remember where I got Megan's hair at, but probably over on ModTheSims2 or TheSimsResource, that would be my first two guesses.
27th May 2006, 7:23 PM
I like your story, and you're really good at taking pics... unlike me. Thank you, and keep it up!
(I thought the hair was from peggysims (donation) but you probably know better than I do.)
28th May 2006, 2:31 AM
I am pretty sure its not from PeggySims Donations as I haven't donated to that site, although I do have several of her free downloads...hmmm I am going to have to track this hair down I think hee hee!
Edited to add, it was brought to my attention that I was wrong about the location of Megan's hair, it was found here http://member.peggysims2.net/index/newclassid6702.asp?typeid=Hair_Female&page=7 . I apologize for my error, but with so many downloads it can be difficult to keep track of what came from where.
28th May 2006, 2:47 AM
ack.... this broad is crazy!!

Shame about the hair. It does seem to be a donation item after all... :doh Never mind.
Perhaps I am being a bit hard on Carlos... but then this whole echos my own family's situation - only it's my mum who's had an affair. Guess my anger at her is spilling over onto a Sims story!

It had been a long year, first the separation from Carlos,
then the call from the doctor telling her it was
time for Megan to have the
Bone Marrow Transplant.
It had been excruciating watching
her little girl become so sick again
from the Chemotherapy they
gave her with the transplanted bone marrow.
The weeks in isolation had been hard on Megan as well,
she longed to see her friends and family,
to have her dark hair again, to be able to
go to school, and most of all to just play.
Now it seemed the waiting was finally over,
she looked down at her daughter as they
left the hospital and prayed that they
would never find themselves there again,
at least not for an illness.
Carlos had come by everyday during
the long stay to see his little girl,
it had taken every bit of Isabel’s strength
not to run into his arms as she saw
the tenderness he gave his sick baby.
She knew he loved them, but still the betrayal and pain
she felt was so deep.
As the days had passed she began
to wonder if she should return to him,
could she let him do this again.
Just as she would make up her mind to
give this lawyer friend of Maya’s a call
and start the divorce, she would see one
of her daughters out playing, and remember
that she wasn’t the only one who was being
hurt by their separation.
Megan’s hospitalization had been difficult
for Carlos as well, he didn’t ever want
to see one of his children that sick again,
now if they could sail through the next
five years without any problems,
maybe he would be able to breathe again.
In the bustle of keeping up
with his duties as Governor,
visiting Megan in the hospital,
his three girls at Maya’s home, and also making time
to see his two sons,
it seemed there wasn’t a moment to figure
out how to win his family again.
He knew it should be his top priority,
but somehow it kept getting pushed back
by other things that just couldn’t wait.
He tried to talk to Isabel when he would stop
to see Megan, or when he went over to Maya’s,
but the conversations were still, unnatural.
He needed to see her alone,
to tell her how much he loved her;
He needed a grand gesture
to prove they should be together again.
That was it… He knew now what he needed
to do, but his plans would have to wait a bit.
He would have to wait for Megan to feel better,
meanwhile, maybe Isabel would agree to seeing just him.
8th Sep 2006, 12:07 AM
“Carlos, we need to talk,” damn, every time the blasted
phone rang he had hoped to hear Isabel’s voice
on the other side of it, this was definitely
not the voice he was hoping for.
“ It’s time for you to throw that cocktail party
we spoke of, John has been steadily rising in the
polls for election to congress and
I am dying to meet him.
I am thinking three weeks from today,
that should give you plenty of time to make
all the necessary arrangements.”
“Oh and by the way, the boys really
need some new clothing, so see to it that there
is a little extra in your check this month for them.”
Just what he needed, more to take up his precious time,
more to keep him awake at night.
He felt bad for Mr. Hancock,
the poor man didn’t even know what demon
was about to attach herself to his back.
He almost felt like giving him a call and
telling him to enjoy the precious time he had left.

You are very welcome, it was never forgot, just ended up moving this summer and things got quite crazy for a few months. I have had this part of the story wrote since shortly after Chapter 14, just no time for the photos.

The party was fabulous, of course how could it not be.
He had invited all the top names in politics.
Isabel had come to be at his side,
through it all they had kept their separation hid from
the media, for the most part.
Of course there were rumors, there were always rumors.
Maybe this party would be enough to
Dispel many of them.
She was stunning, how on earth had he let her go.
Compared to her, well there was
No comparing any of the women at the party to her, she simply outshined them all.
He was amazed, here she was with her enemy a few feet from her,
smiling and charming everyone.
Mr. Hancock had attended,
And true to form Trish had thrown herself at him,
she wasn’t blatant, but it was hard not to notice the
amount of attention she gave him.
At the end of the night she was hanging on his arm,
laughing at all of his little jokes, practically drooling.
When it came time for goodbye, Trish left with him.
“Ah well, best of luck with that one Mr. Hancock.”
was all Carlos could think as he watched the two of them
drive off, and damn if the smile would not leave his lips!
“Last night was great babe, but I have things to do now,
and you have somewhere to go. “
John was just rising out of bed,
Trish couldn’t help but notice the muscles rippling
on his back and thought of their time together the night before.
She wouldn’t mind waking up to this sight every morning,
Especially if it was in a big white house in Washington D.C.
She was certain she had him, now she was confused,
“ No, I thought I might go down and cook us some breakfast.
There is this great old movie on later today I thought we could watch together. “
John sighed, another gold-digger, he seemed to stumble on them all the time.
“No, you don’t seem to understand, Babe,
you are leaving, and I am doing whatever it is that I want to do, without you.
If I led you to believe last night meant something,
well I’m sorry it didn’t. I was just having a good time.
Kindly see yourself out and don’t take anything as you leave. “
He walked into the bathroom and firmly shut the door.
Trish heard the shower running as she sat there still sputtering.
This was not going as well as she had hoped.
She felt like a woman of the night as she slipped her clothes on and left John’s house that morning.
11th Sep 2006, 5:45 AM
Carlos sat in the office for what seemed to be hours, waiting.
Why would anyone make him wait this long,
d***it he was paying for their services, they should be prompt!
“Mr. Valdrez?” Carlos stood,
the man that came out of the room wasn’t what he was expecting at all.
But he did come highly recommended.
“ Yes, that’s me.”
Dylan smiled, he was use to people having
the jitters when they came to him, hopefully under his care
though their jitters would soon disappear.
“If you would follow me I have some photos
for you to look at and maybe we can get an idea
of what you are hoping to arrange here.”
Isabel isn’t sure when it happened, but suddenly she
found herself anxiously looking forward to
each new date with Carlos again.
Seeing him walking up the sidewalk to the door set off butterflies in her stomach.
There was no denying it to herself anymore,
she loved her husband and wanted to be with him.
She was finally ready she thought to let go of the past and forgive him.
Of course it wouldn’t hurt to wait a bit more
and enjoy the new passion they had ignited, just for a bit.
Everyday it seemed Megan was getting better, the dark circles under her eyes had faded and her cheeks had lost their sunken look.
Her hair once almost to her waist was short now
Megan didn’t care though, she was just glad to have hair again,
to be able to enjoy the sunshine with her sisters,
and to be back at school again with her friends.
Now if only her mom and dad would get back together, her life would seemed pretty close to perfect.
11th Sep 2006, 12:09 PM
yipee,things are looking good!
11th Sep 2006, 5:42 PM
Haha, Trish got what she deserved...the homewrecking heiffer :P
I'm so glad to see Megan is healthier and happier :)

I am glad you are all enjoying the story, the next chapter is going to take a bit longer as it is much more photo intense and so much will be happening, it also may be the last chapter of Dreams Lost. It feels like a good place to say goodbye so far in the writing, but who knows yet? I do still have so many character plots in the works...we shall see what happens.
27th Oct 2006, 3:45 PM
“Isabel, I know nothing I can ever do
will make up for the way I hurt you, and the girls. “
Carlos had never been so nervous,
he could feel the beads of sweat
accumulating on his brow,
running down in cold salty streams
across her temples and into his eyes.
“ I know I don’t deserve forgiveness,
but that is what I am asking for.
I have discovered ways I love you over the last year,
that I didn’t even know before all this,
and I know now more then ever
that I can’t bear to live without you by my side.
Will you Marry Me Again?”
Her hands were shaking and her face was wet,
when did she start crying? “Yes Carlos, I love you and I forgive you.
I want to make our marriage work.
When Trish first showed up
I pledged that no matter what I would let her ruin
what we have worked so hard and waited so long for,
and that I would do whatever it took to keep our fairytale.
I almost broke that promise to myself Carlos.
Just swear to me, never again will you
let another woman tear us apart.
I’m not sure I could forgive you twice.”
He discreetly reached under the table
and pinched himself, it was true, not a dream,
soon their family would be whole again.
“ I have a small surprise for you Isabel,
I wanted you to know how serious
I was about starting over again,
so I talked to a man,
he came highly recommended,
and together we have planned a renewal
of our vows ceremony.
Go upstairs my love and you will find a box,
put it on and then join me back here.
I will see you in a few hours.
He had guts, she had to give him that,
what if she had said no,
had he thought that was even possible.
As she entered the hotel room
she found the box laying on the bed,
inside was a gorgeous dress,
perfect for an evening ceremony.
Just as she was about to slip it on
there was a knock on the door,
“Yes?” who could be disturbing this perfect dream,
please don’t let her wake up now..
“ Senora Valdrez, Senor Valdrez said you might
wish to make use of our services,
perhaps to have your hair and makeup
done for the ceremony?”
Two hours later she was back in her room
and began to slip into her dress, when yet
another knock interrupted her thoughts,
“May I help you?”
“ Senor Valdrez had these sent up for you Senora.”
Isabel threw on her robe and padded to the door,
there in the delivery man’s hands was her bouquet,
he truly hadn’t forgotten anything.
She accepted the delivery and placed the flowers,
alongside the box holding her gown.
As she finished slipping on her gown,
there was yet one more knock,
“ Yes may I help you?”
“Senora, I am here to escort you as soon as you are prepared,
I will wait out here for your word.”
It suddenly dawned on Isabel
that each of her knocks had
been by a Hispanic person,
could this all be part of the dream evening
Carlos had planned?
27th Oct 2006, 3:48 PM
As she stepped outside of her room, she gasped,
it was Carlos’ Papa, had he flown his entire
family up for the event?
“Papa Valdrez, I am so happy to see you!
Are you and Mama well?”
The elderly man smiled,
“Yes Chica, now that our family is whole again
we are quite well,
now lets go get this Fiesta started!”
Isabel laughed, she hadn’t in so long,
it bubbled out of her and she couldn’t
seem to control the flood,
soon tears were streaming down her face,
tears of joy and relief.
They renewed their vows, in the same place
they said them to each other for the first time,
In a ceremony by their pond
Family and friends watched
as the couple declared again,
Their love and devotion for each other.
Isabel would cherish that special night
for the rest of her life,
And later grandchildren would find it
hard to believe that
Their grandparents had ever been anything but
The stuff that dreams are made of.
She was wiser now, and although Carlos always
saw her as the young girl he married,
She grew older, and as she looked around,
surrounded by her beautiful daughters,
family that loved her,
and friends that would always be there for her,
She knew in her heart,
Even lost dreams could be found again.

I was suppose to be doing homework... but I read your complete story. Thanks for the distraction, now I have to work harder. Exilent, aside from typos and such. Almost want to know what happens to the little boys, do they get to know thier sisters or anything?

I just read the ending - I haven't had internet for a while - and I loved it! So beautiful and perfect. You are a great writer and picture-taker... Thumbs up!! :)
