Hi,

I'm terrified right now, as my brand new computer's HDD is saying that there is only 3.74GB left of my 300GB or so HDD.

I have all EPs except FreeTime and I only have the H&M stuff pack, and my Downloads folder on hits abour 250/300MB. I also have other programmes such as Adobe Photo Elements 5 but thats about it bar the basic programmes. I've just started a Defrag but it says that because there only 1% lft of the HDD is might not work properly!

Where has all my HDD's space gone? Or is there some sort of glitch possibly thats means its not showing the true size? Could I have a virus or something?

Please, I'm desperate as I can't understand what the heck is going on :(

Have you tried restarting? It's possible you have a hard drive partition set up so the part you're on is far less.. When did you first notice so much of your hard drive has been used up like this? How much was available when you first got it? When you go to my computer -> properties, is it actually displaying the full drive size?

I've only just noticed - I went into Defrag via right-clicking on the c:/ icon and thats when it came up all in blue and said I only had 3GB left.

I've not done anything like paritioning my HDD as I've not touched it since I got the computer. I haven't tried restarting as yet, but will do so in a minute. The HDD is 320GB, obviously minus any for the system (as always) so it was 298GB.

Spybot didn't pick up anything and when I've restarted I'm going to do a virus check with Avast!

edit: Restarted, and its the same. There only one bit, its not split in two.

edit 2: I think I might have found the reason; I have a full licence of Fraps and its been recording my game play! The Fraps folder is filled with AVI files of me playing my game! I'll delete them and uninstall it *grrrrrr*

edit 3: Yep thats the problem - after I deleted all those AVI files my Free Space shot up to 93% *facepalm* I'll sticking with the freebie version or getting a new screencapturing programme!

I was in awe at the fact there was 297/298GB worth of video sitting in the folder  I never videoed anything, so I must have accidently selected an option when setting it up or it did automatically

So yea, mods could you close the thread please?
