Handiness, Gardening opportunities/challenges and stealing

I have three issues that I could use help with.

First, I have a Sim that has reached level 10 in Gardening and has not received the challenges/opportunities to get the ability to plant burger, steak, cheese, egg and omni plants. My understanding is that there should be three of them. Coming at levels 8, 9 and 10. Any help?

The second issue I have is with another Sim that gets Handiness challenges/opportunities to repair or upgrade items for other Sims. The items are placed in the family inventory. My Sim takes them out and does the required work. Then what do I do? I can't put the item into my Sim's inventory, but I can put it back into the family inventory. Whether or not it is in the family inventory it does not have any interactions. (Can't click on it). I have gone into the edit town view and see the Sim that provided the challenge. When I mouse over his pic I get the text about the challenge, but when I click on him it says, "Go to Hal". But the text is grayed out and can't be selected. How do I complete this challenge?

Lastly I have a Sim that has the Klepto trait. Occasionally she gets the wish to steal something. How do you do this? She has gone to neighbor's homes and community lots but I don't find anyway to "steal" anything. How does your Sim steal?

You place the item back to the family inventory, then go to the person who requested your help and there will be an option for you to complete the opportunity if you click on the person, without the item in your family inventory, you cannot complete the opportunity.

I can put the item back in the family inventory but in the "town" view when I click on the pic of the Sim that gave the challenge "Go to Hal" is grayed out. So I can't complete the challenge.

It will be greyed out when the sim in question is at work or in transit. You have to catch them at home or out on the town (but not in a rabbit hole) to turn in the opportunity. What you need to do is mouseover the greyed out option and see WHY it's greyed out. If it's "Hal is at work," you need to wait. If it's "The required items are not in your family inventory," you need to go back and put them there.

You don't get the challenges the instant you get those levels. You need to just hope for luck of the draw and ensure you don't have any other active skill challenges interfering. If you've had that repair-my-shower or upgrade-my-stereo challenge forever and a day because you can't figure out how to turn it in, it's occupying the "Skill Challenge" slot that your gardening challenge needs to be free in order to pop.

This Sim doesn't have any other challenges. This is a different Sim than the one with the Handiness challenges. This Sim has all challenges open waiting for the gardening challenges from the chef at the Bistro.

For the sim with the Klepto trait you click on the ground indoors or out and make the selection. One catch is that there can be no one around, no one in the room if inside and no one outside on the lot if outside. You don't get to pick what your klepto steals, they will randomly choose up to 3 items to take.

For the Opps to plant eggs, cheese, burgers, and steak, I too have a gardening sims and she didn't get the egg/cheese opp until way after level 10. She already had perfect everything for most of her adult life. (btw: he reached level 10 while a YA)

The handiness opps were a pain for me in the beginning. Once you do catch up with the appropriate sims if at home you have to actually ring the bell and choose the deliver option. The first time I accepted this opp, it took me forever to figure out how to give back the repaired laptop.

I may not achieve this in that case. He is already 75 days old. The Prima guide made it sound like acheiving the levels was the trigger. I wonder what does trigger these?

This Sim had already repaired the Laptop and I had finally given up and deleted it and the challenge disappeared with it. When she got the callenge to upgrade the TV I thought I would try again. Now I just have to catch Hal when he isn't busy. :lol:

Many of us playing a gardening sim have discovered that the opp is somewhat random in occurrence. Also this opp can come from the diner, mine did, but my sim owns the bistro :lol:

For the repairing/upgrading opportunities, it's easier if you invite said sim over so you don't have to keep running around to catch up with him/her to return the item.

for your klepto sim, you can only steal at night, after it's dark. like mentioned, your klepto will take something random. You can only do this three times per night. For some reason, kleptos seem to be fond of light fixtures *rolleyes*
