Hey all.
I'm having problems getting this lot (L'Pyramide sur la Mer) accepted. I'm looking for some feedback on how I can improve it! I think it's a very interesting and innovative lot, but I'll admit it could use some improvement! It's basically a structural pyramid set on top of a submerged house. The pyramid covers a rooftop garden and outdoor entertainment area. Stairs from this area lead down into the 2nd floor which includes an open design consisting of a kitchen, dining area, living room, fitness area, and reading nook - all with windows looking out into the "tidal basin" pool. Should I close some of these rooms off? The first floor contains 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. They are all uniquely designed and offer a totally different look for each room. A structural truss runs along one side of the lot acting as a car-port and cover for the playground. I'll admit the house is a bit "boxy" but the real intent was to showcase the pyramid and truss. Any feedback on how this lot can be improved would be greatly appreciated! THANKS! {I.AM}

the lot was declined for the following reasons:
# General - Needs a bit more work...
While we appreciate and understand the time and effort you have taken on your submission, it's just a little bit off in some ways... you've got a great base and a really good start going, but there's certain details that need a little more tweaking before it's quite ready. Please don't take this as any kind of discouragement - in fact, it's meant as exactly the opposite...

We strongly encourage you to make use of our Creator Feedback forum to get tips and help in polishing up your creation up a little more, as you have a very nice start going... just needs a little more work and it will likely be able to be accepted. If you need further help, make sure to check the tutorials in our Create section, and you can ask specific questions in the appropriate sub-forum if there's something you're stuck on.

# Lots - Architecture
When creating the architecture of your lot, please strive to create a unique overall look with an interesting layout. It's very easy to create a boxy lot with poor aesthetics in Sims 2 - and it can take a lot of practice, work, and effort to create a unique lot that not just anyone could build.

* Try looking at real lots and houses in the style you want to create. You can get great inspiration on unique and realistic architecture by looking up real life building plans, or searching for images on Google Image Search.

Remarkable! Although the main living area is a bit sparse, but that's not important :)

I like the bright blues. They're spunky and very mer-like.
One thing is that Pyramide doesn't being with a vowel or a h, so it should have le/la (I forget if it's masucline or feminine) in front of it, not l'. I'm taking French GCSE. :S
I don't really have much to say until you post pictures of the full floor plan though, tbh.

This reminds me if the Lurve (or however that thing is spelled)

Anyhoos, you should probably section off that big room with the kitchen, dining area, etc. into seperate rooms accordingly.

And, you have way too many barstools (yes, the mods take that into consideration).

thanks. L'Pyramide at the Louvre was my inspiration. I was going to do something on a community lot, but was experimenting with it on a residential and just decided to go with it. This whole lot is sort of the culmination of experimentation, so I'm just trying to tweak it into something useable. My Sims like it, but I guess everyone's idea of what makes a good lot is quite different. I'm working on taking everyone's suggestions into consideration. I love open floorplans, but am working on cordoning off individual rooms on the kitchen/living floor. Keep the suggestions coming! thanks!

La Pyramide. haha and the pyramid at the Louvre looks similar, its just a bunch of triangles and not squares.

I like this house it just needs some tweaking.

Perhaps you should go with a modern Egyptian theme? You know, lots of gold. It might tie the whole thing together.

I've actually been working on modding some Egyptian artwork. That might be a good idea!

The Egyptian theme is good, but that'll require a name change.

If you stick with the Lourve theme, then you'll need to use a more Parisian flair. Simsinparis has some great examples.

So in the interior, I'd implement a lot of paintings and sculptures. And use wallpapers with flowery brocade patterns and deep woods, like you're using now.

And like wise with the Egyptian theme. Use warm golds and lots of plants.

I think parisian would be better, IMO...but it's up to you deary. :)

edit - I think dark wood flooring would look better with any theme...but I may be a tad biased ;)

I'm just trying to figure out what is going on on the third floor. Lots of random items clustered around each other. It just looks strange, at least from the top down.

The rest of the interior seems to be boxes inside the box. I would suggest breaking up the largest box and redoing the bedrooms so they flow a bit better.

The 3rd room is a bit odd. The items should be more spaced out, not stuck in the middle, and there needs to be more going on. It doesn't seem to have a purpose. If it's a barbeque area (which is what it looks like to me) it needs more seating and hospitable areas.

I was totally at a loss as to what to do with the third floor when I started the interior design. It's meant to be an all purpose outdoor activities are, as the house, pool, and driveway take up much of the lot. I've started breaking it up a bit with some hedging and am working on creating a few more intimate areas with specific purposes (an art area, fitness, barbecue, and fire-pit). I should have some screen-shots up a bit later. The large stack of "pedestals" in the middle was intended to mask the chimney from the front (you can see the stack in the main screenshot). It looked a little out of place just sticking up out of the center. They're lit so they look quite nice at night, but I'm beginning to think they're not necessary. Any comments?
