Can't visit certain houses

I wanted my Sim to visit his Brother. He was home but the game said no interaction. Does anyone know why. He could visit some random people he barely new.

It sounds like he wasn't home or he was on his way somewhere.

If the option for visiting is grayed out, he wasn't home. I found the best way to see who is home is to go into town view and mouse over the house to get the little pop-up that shows who's inside.

Also, like Sisaly posted, if a sim is on his way to leaving the home or anywhere else, you can't interact with that sim when it's queued by the game to go.
