Hi all,
I've wondered this for so long, and no matter where I've looked it appears that no-one's bothered to post any tutorials.
What I am asking about is changing global Maxis memories; not an individual memory on an OBJECT a sim receives after using it (I've tried it before, but that's not what I mean this time) or an individual sim's memory.
I don't want to remove any memories, add any Maxis memories to an individual sim, or change a sim's memory to another Maxis one.
The effect I am trying to find out how to get through simPE is like the one here, where they change a global Maxis memory:

Wishfully I thought this tut would work, but it turns out that before I read it I already did it myself and I do NOT want the following effect:

So how can I edit global Maxis memories? I can't find a tutorial anywhere...

An EAxian memory is simply a regular OBJD and associated STRs and icons. To change the text or icon, just open up the relevant memory and extract the portions you wish to override and change them.

Thanks, J.M. Pescado. I'll try that.
Edit: Ok, I'm looking at the SimPE screen. Do I have to open a neighborhood to access the OBJD or what? What do I do to access those specific files when SimPE is blank? (When you first start it and don't open anything in it.)

If you want to GLOBALLY modify a memory, you have to open objects.package to access and extract the parts you want to change. You probably won't be interested in the OBJD, only the text strings and icon.
