You're talking about settings in s3oc (the cloner tool)? Ok it's not the ones in My Documents that you want. Try program files again, and look for a folder called Electronic Arts in there. What operating system do you have?

Your game will be installed in either
C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 for 32 bit
or
C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 for 64 bit

Nope theres no sims 3 file in c.
And i searched my computer for sims 3 folder and all it found was the sims 3 folder in my documents?
I can get to C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts but in there is EADownloadManager.
I keep trying to use the my documents folder as the game folders.
But i keep getting a message saying One or more expected packages in the path you chose was not found?
Maybe thats my problem.

Do you have Sims 3 installed?
When you ran the installer, it will have asked you to specify somewhere to install it.
That's the location that you need to tell s3oc.
(You don't need to have Sims 3 installed. But of course, if you don't have the game files, you can't clone objects from them.)

If you installed the game to defaults settings, you shouldn't have had to meddle around with s3oc's defaults Settings, either.
Anyways, right-click on the Sims 3 icon on your Desktop --> Properties.
The path you want is in the Target field (Shortcut tab).
What s3oc is looking for is the path before the \Game\Bin\ bits: <ie. all parts here as in HugeLunatic's post>\Game\Bin\, depending on your OS.
I think that method is still applicable under Vista/Win7? (I'm still on XP)

Yep, that method still works on 7 at least, ella (I just checked).

So I see you started another new thread. Which error are you getting? Are you getting the one of your packages missing? Have you found your game folders then?
Please don't pm help questions. :) This method doesn't allow other creators to learn from it then. I did post in my thread about how I solved my issue regarding missing packages, mine was a thumbnail package. Most likely deleted accidentally when I was attempting to clear my thumbs and cache files.

Ooh i get it now. I dident really understand that post before.
For some weird reason the sim folders wernt in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3. But i reinstalled the game and now there is folders there :)
But i still need to figure out One or more expected packages in the path you chose was not found. What packages could be missing?
I took screenshots of my files to see if anythings missing there? Is there?
if theres not where should i look?

It's probably talking about Deltabuild 0,1 and 2. If you just reinstalled your game you probably didn't patch it yet.

Well, you can look in s3oc-ini.ttl and see if you can spot anything about the paths and file lists in there that you think is incompatible with your setup.

Okay... that's a weird one! (Framework 3.5 is part of .Net and provides some additional facilities on top of .Net 2.0. However, it's "runtime compatible" -- I suppose that's why the program will run with only .Net 2!)
