Dunno if anyone else has made a challenge like this, there is no theft in this challenge.

The object of this challenge is to make your life miserable. (:
Kidding, but it is hard and meant for only those who have Apartment Life.

The "story base": You and your wife love children, and over the years you've managed to accumulate six of them. But when tragedy strikes, and your father dies, leaving you hundreds of thousands of unpaid bills and nothing else, you two fall into debt, and only recently earned $1,000, after living on the streets so long, you decide that it's best this money goes to cheap housing. (This will have to be the cheapest apartment you can find. No exceptions.) At the end and in the middle of every week a collection agent stops by, and takes everything from you, except $1,000 (3,000 if you've accumulated more than 10gs that week.)

In CAS create a family. Two parents, any way you like, and six children. One teen, three children, and two toddlers. And in the neighborhood view dock their family funds to 8k. (This leaves 1k for every family member.) Then rent an apartment. Remember, it has to be as cheap as you can find, and you cannot build it yourself. (But I don't care if you download it.) What ever money you have left over is yours to spend on furniture and the like. A helpful hint is to pinch pennies, immensely.

Da Rulez Mon.
NO cheating for anything other than to take away your cash every Tuesday & Friday. This includes motive, money, deleting homework and mailboxes or bills, deleting anything broken, or anything else. It makes you a cheater, and it deflates the challenge. D:
One parent has to stay home, no exceptions, or else you'll lose the toddlers and children.
No nanny, maid, butler, gardener, exterminator, or repair men. You're poor, those are for rich people. (Plus the landlord does a great deal for you.)
No aspiration gifts can be used. (I.E. Money tree or love tub.)
You may do anything in your free time to earn extra cash. Selling crafted stuff, painting and selling masterpieces etc.(No family business. You're poor.) But as stated earlier, you may not cheat to get the skill points in any way.
All homework must be done, no exceptions. You may chose to get your teen a job.
No sims may leave the house until both parents have died. Sad but true.
The challenge and debt ends if the social worker comes, or when the toddlers become teens, and everyone else has either left or stayed behind. Maybe make a family out of them. (:

It will be extremely cramped in a cheap apartment. ('Specially since most of the cheap ones are one bedroom.) So best of luck, have fun!

By the way, my sims game isn't connected to the internet, so I cannot provide a pre-made family, all set up or anything. No idea how I'd manage it. But I'd still love to see how you guys handle it!

This sounds like a really fun challenge, I'm going to try it! :)

Edit: And the social took away my kids in two days! One of the toddlers kept going hungry, every time I gave him a bottle he threw it away x-x

So I tried it again and just about managed to complete it. One thing that really helped was that the cheapest apartment was that trailer park-esque place in Belladonna Cove. Outside there was a park and a grill, which meant inside I only had to buy a fridge (for grilling hotdogs), and nothing to fulfil 'fun' requirements. That gave me a bit more space to just put single beds everywhere.

The stage where you have toddlers is definitely the hardest, they take up a lot of room and require a lot of attention. The only part where I was really in trouble though was that there wasn't enough space in my apartment for all the children's homework, and one of my sims got to a D- whilst I was trying to locate where she'd left it, hahaha. I got really attached to my family though, they all seem to have individual personalities to me now :lovestruc: It also definitely helps to get your teens jobs, if only to get them out of the apartment and give you room to get everyone else's needs up. And whenever the bathroom wasn't being used I always made sure to make someone use it even if their bladder/hygiene wasn't very low, because whenever they really DID need it, five people would need it at once -_-

It's really too bad that there are no bunk beds for Sims.

(Unless someone made custom content.)

Seeing how my blood pressure just recovered after the Sit Back & Watch Challenge (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=402577)-incident, this looks like a fun way to put it straight off the chart again :D

It's all fun and games until someone starts whining~~

Thank goodness for Atavera's bunk beds (http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?p=1530813). (I don't consider them cheating as they have the same rating and price as the Craftmeister's pine bed, correct me if I'm wrong.)

Oh, I disagree, little one. You'd actually be better off in most prisons.

Thanks for an interesting challenge!
I'll update with scores etc. if I manage to complete this one and they don't meet an early demise in a totally unplanned fire <_<

ETA: Wtf, the dad keeps rolling the Find a roommate-want.

Oh, hey, any points for toddler skills learned...?

And can you download/use toddler blankets?

One way I would handle things...have the parents help two of the kids with homework (one of them the teen). Then the next evening help the other two, and when the toddlers become children, have the parents help them.

Can you change the seasons in the neighborhood? I'd be helping toddlers learn to walk outside, where there's room.

This was a lot easier than I originally thought it was going to be, but it was a very fun challenge nonetheless, even though there are a few restrictions that I think I imposed on myself that I don't think were required, but eh, it's all over now :p

+20 x 6 = 120
+15 x 12 = 180 + (15 x 5) = 255
+5 x 5 = 25
-------------
TOTAL: 400 points

-10 x 7 = -70
-15 x 2 = -30
-5 x 1 = -5
-------------
TOTAL: -105 points

OVERALL: 295 points

Didn't actually come out of this all too badly, to be honest, and the two youngest children were perma-plat before even reaching adulthood. Soooo, I'm going to do it again! :D

I'm still thinking about giving it a try. I'd think that the real hard part would be teaching toddlers their skills. At least with the trailer park, there's playground equipment.

I am nearly (I think) done with this challenge. Currently all my kids are teenagers, with the eldest about to grow up to adult. The challenge was definitely hard at the beginning. Once you figure out a groove and what you need to do to keep everyone semi-happy, then it gets easier. However, I never taught my toddlers any skills because it was just hard enough maintaining everyone's health.

On a similar note, I put the Newson kids with the Goodies. Even with Teens helping out they're still having a time teaching the youngest two their toddler skills. No one has enough Aspiration points for Smart Milk, and no one's even at Gold aspiration.

I guess if you have a parent talk to the toddlers, give them a snuggle here and there, they'll still grow up well.

Aspiration rewards aren't allowed even if you had enough points to purchase smartmilk.

Can i do this with a house instead of an Apartment, since I don't have AL?

You could however that sort of defeats the purpose because you have to pay rent for an apartment, as well as paying the bills & the leftover bills.

There are plenty of higher bill mods out there that you could employ, it would more closely align it with the actual challenge, anyway.
