sims 3 trash button, deleting cc in game

Hey there
I have seen that someone posted here about this "trash button" (eg. to delete downloaded bed)
and i wanted to ask can someone tell me does that button really works on someone or EA just added it for decoration. Please help me because i have so many junk stuff that i want to delete but i cant find the file.

The "trash button" as I understand it, will delete presets that you have saved in CAS and even custom sims you have made or downloaded, you can even delete lots that you have made or downloaded.
It does NOT, to my knowledge, delete sim3pack custom content installed by the launcher. They must be uninstalled by the launcher, just as they were installed by it.

Ok then, i tried to uninstal by launcher but whenever i go to instaled content tab my launcher freezes, i gave it at least 5 mins to load , cause i have a lot of cc about 3-4 gigs, but it doesnt work. And in downloads tab works just fine 2-3 mins loading cc.
Any suggestion to fix this?

Yes, it is slow.
Players have reported better success if using the scroll bar (not the arrow) a smidgen at a time, after it has completely loads.
