Relationships and sudden lack of interest?

Hey guys. I couldn't find another thread about this (and I didn't know what to search for to find it anyway :/)

Has anyone had the problem of having two sims who seem to be getting along great, falling in love and whatnot, and then suddenly one of them is just not interested anymore? I had the problem of my sims being stuck at "Romantic Interest" so I took the advice of doing a bunch of romantic actions in a row, and I did get the "Go Steady" option, but I wanted to take some screenshots of it and they were in a bathroom (So not romantic! :P) I tried to move them to the other room and start the chain of actions over again but the guy just wasn't having it. :/

I even went back to a previous save and I can't get him to want her again. They were so perfect for each other, it makes me sad! :( Any ideas?

I found this happened in my game. In one case the guy had just started being in love with someone else - I caught them kissing - and in the other case I guess they just drifted apart. I think it is part of natural story progression rather than a glitch.

Ah, maybe. It didn't seem likely since I was pretty much taking up all of his time other than work, but it's possible. Either way I kept at it like the insistent bugger that I am and I got him, finally. :)

I've had that happen before, sometimes I let 'em drift apart and just be friends, other times i give it a day or two and then they just start back up in all their eye-staring, hand-holding, leap-into-arms...ing way.

I don't mind this, it make things hard to predict sometimes, but you just have to let go and enjoy the randomness. Love is fickle!

One of my sims worked through a romantic aciton chain to get the simette feeling he was irresistable, then suggested she break up with her current boyfriend (apperantly breaking the action chain), to which she agreed, then he dove in for a first kiss but her newfound feeling of independence left her completely uninterested in him, further romantic action attempts fell completely flat.

If it were easy and predictable it would be boring.

I've never noticed this... Wonderful discovery! This would explain my best couples hating each other randomly...
