Registry editing on secondary drive

Unfortunately my game is stuck in 24 hour time. I'd rather tackle editing the registry myself instead of downloading someone else's mod for it. The thing is, my Sims are on my second hard drive. I don't know where to find that in the registry edit. In a normal case it is under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE set. Mine is not, so I assume that set is only for drive C. I've read that what you need to do is load a hive. But what hive do I load? I get to the game folder and then don't know what to do. I tried loading it on the Sims2EP8.exe but it didn't work.
Anyone know?

The registry only exists on Windows' install drive. In TS2, you don't need a mod to change the time format - it's in the ingame options.

meh, okay.
i know the force 12 hour thing is in the ingame options but it's a pain to have to hit it every time i start up the game. i've also put in a userstartup.cheat shortcut but again i have to enter it in every time.
