Hey, first post here!
So it's been like, half a year since I played Sims, and since then, they were off my laptop. Now I really fancy playing them again, but everytime I install them games, my laptop slows down a considerable amount. Things stop responding, it lags and so on.
Before, when I had all expansion on it and a few stuff packs, it wasn't this bad, sure it lagged a bit, but not this much. So why now? Anyway, here are my specs, from the DxDiag thing;

I assume you're talking about Sims 2? Which EPs?

Your lag is due to having a weaker system. There's really nothing much you can do: http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Onboard_Graphics Since that is a laptop you can't upgrade and continuing to play the game will likely shorten its life as well.

It may be happening more now for several reasons. It may be that you have more cc than before. You could have more things on your computer running which is slowing it down more. Or it could be wearing out due to age and strain.. that is what usually happens to weaker laptops over time when you stress then beyond what they were intended to handle.
