I am a lurker around modthesims and usually don't post anything about anything, but I came across The Family Man Challenge and I loved it! I am not much for Legacies since I tend to get bored after the 4rd generation or so... but this one was quite a lot of fun!
So, I decided to play The Family Man challenge in the town of Bridgeport and I wanted my character to be a celebrity. I found this to be pretty challenging.
Rules:
1- No cheating. You can have story progression mods though, so long they don't affect much game play.
2- No motherlode. That helps impress other celebrities too much.
3- Set your lifespan to normal. No becoming a vampire, eating ambrosia or life fruit. Nothing that would make you live longer. (A healthy lifestyle is alright ;D)
Setting up:
Create a young adult male sim. You can name him whatever you want and make him look whatever you want.
He can have any traits you want. Recommended: Charismatic, Flirty, and Star Quality.
For lifetime wish and an extra callenge go for "Heartbreaker" lifetime wish (but this is optional)
Move him into Bridgeport. Join the acting career OR self employ yourself in a band once you make one.
Objectives:
To have as many children as possible with as many different women as possible AND make your sim a 5 star celebrity that will reach the top of his acting/band career (either or, not both, unless you want to but that'll be hard :| )
Pros of Bridgeport: LOTS OF SINGLE YA WOMEN.
Cons of Bridgeport: LOTS OF SINGLE YA WOMEN that are townies.
Recommended: Getting the girls to move in with you and then kick them out of the house. They'll get their own house and will be able to have up to 7 kids if you use no mods.
The actual challenge: When you have a kid out of wedlock/woohoo in public/cheat on your girlfriend/wife, you get embarrassed in public, which makes you lose friends (including, and mostly the women you've previously woohoo'ed that you need to be in good standards with in order to get them preggers again) and in the acting branch, you need to be friends with your co-workers in order to go up higher.
I found this pretty challenging and by the end of it, Mr. Jared Leto had 50+ kids (a lot of them twins) and I was a 5 star celebrity.
