Emma, this is directed at you because I know you use LadyFrontbum's skins, but if any one else does too... Do you have any issues with children coming out strangely coloured due to the colour grading the skins use? (ie pale... green... then dark on the one skin bar). I've noticed it on children with two sims I make, but will it happen with EA sims?

And if it does, can you fiddle with skin colour after birth with a mod?I never NOTICED it, but that doesn't mean anything XD I've noticed problems more with ones that have three colours on the same slider, that's what happened to Tyson's skin tone (much paler and pinker then Nathalie or Ned's).
And you can change it as soon as your sim is a toddler. You can do it in baby as well, I THINK, but there's more possible glitches. But you can get in CAS as baby, as I've changed the sim blankets before.
And I love the braid and Thatcher :D

So, I had my great Aunts funeral yesterday. She had been diagnosed with terminal cancer in june.
The funeral was so beautiful, they had videos and pictures of her bucket list and grandads bday and everything.
Then she did a video at the end. It was bloody cruel but totally cute.
she ended it with "hey you, yeah you, stop crying, I will have none of that. Go get a drunk."
Hehe I love my family.

It's that darn Aggressive trait of hers, it made her insane.

Plum Grove was nice but Meadow Glenn won out because it just... FELT like Neverglade. I dunno how else to describe it. I am a bit worried about the number of lots and how damn small the houses are, but I can fix that through town edit.

I played in Neverglade with my test family (A remade Ella Sapphire - David's older sister -, and Johnathan Porter - Joy's older brother -) and it played perfectly with no crashes for a full 7 sim days with no saving, numerous time speed changes, and spamming the tab key.

Hate to break it to you, but last I checked that was actually what the MARE was expecting. I may be wrong but that's what my testing seemed to show. I think it's because horses don't have morning sickness etc so without it it's hard to tell they're pregnant until they get the moodlet.

ugh.... so, i may need to restart my legacy. there are some serious issues with castle keep, pretty as it is. i have entire families stuck on their home lots who cant get to work or school which was causing my game to freeze every 5 minutes. i think this is because there are no sidewalks or roads leading up to the lots and a lot of steep terrain around some of them e_e
so, i dont know what to do as far as my story goes. its too early for a move, and i had such a nice arc planned around keon.

I had to kill Gibson when he got glitched. But in his case, I knew he was glitched because I saw the event that glitched him. Ryder (and Jed) could just be very lucky. I've had Sims live to be really excessively old before.
So, I really don't know what to advise. I hate killing off my Sims, so I wouldn't want to suggest it to anyone else. But if he's glitched, that might be the only way to go...Sorry, I'm not helping. =(

have you tried resetting him?? to test if its not a glitch, you could save an alternate and run it very high speed to see how long it takes him to die??? I have to admit, my sims are normally able to get about 90 days...........and i have had sims turn 121 days........so thats a 30 days over...........

Emma, you can play through the tombs, but you just can't make any money off of the loot you get. So, you can collect all the treasures you want, but you can't sell them. It's like painting. Any of your Sims can paint or skill painting, but they can't sell their artwork. Does that help?

Srikandi was talking about that earlier. It's the new patch.

Aaaaand in my ongoing research on this patch, I tried enabling the store in my game. Caused no problems, but I wasn't seeing the store items int he catalog. So I tried exiting and restarting... and now TS3 crashes at startup

So I am going to see if I can disable the store in an .ini file. Be warned, though

Edit: yup, re-disabling the store in options.ini worked for me. Conclusion: in my game at least, enabling the store with this patch makes the game crash at startup.

If anybody else is experiencing this, you can fix it as follows: make sure enableingamestore = 0 in the options.ini in My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3. You can fix it by editing with notepad.

okay.......i'm shitting my pants here.........i mentioned before i couldn't patch my game. It's some no cd-crack messing with it and now i have to reinstall everything. And it's the first time in all my simexperience (since the moment sims 1 came into existance!) that i am deinstalling something and don't want to loose my save games........normally i just throw them away and start all over. Less fuss.........and now.......well i'm just scared to death something might get screwed up (read, i screw up something) and i won't be able to continue my legacy :(

Klevkin, easiest way to avoid that is to back up your entire game, not just the save files. I need to reinstall my game today or tomorrow too, and I just put the entire Sims documents folder and the Sims Program Files folder in .zip archives. Then if everything goes to hell you can just reset to where you were this morning.

As for Sifton... well... I'd be weirded out if she behaved contrary to how I characterized her, but I probably wouldn't say anything.

I'd just quietly wonder why you didn't say to yourself "eh, it's a great-granddaughter who looks just like Sifton", and thus have as much freedom with the character's personality as you want. Also I doubt the original Sifton would give up being a vampire.

I just patched my game, and it took me over an hour to back up my files, remove my world fixes, install the patch, update my mods, etc. Then when I went to open my game, it crashed. So I restarted and tried again. And it crashed.

Don't give up on the world fixes right away. Ellacharm3d said hers should be compatible with future patches. If you just plug them back in after you reinstall your mods, maybe try it out?

Emma, I have very minor character in my next update who sounds just like the character you are describing, a goth teenager with an attitude. Her name is April Medley, lol. It was the name given to her by the game, but I decided to keep it because of the irony (or whatever it's called). But if you want a more traditional Gothic name, I like darker names like Raven. Out of your choices, I have a hard time pronouncing some of them in my head, so I'd probably go with with Ophelia.

It still hasn't clicked whatever it is for me, can you explain Becky? Hamlet was the one Shakespearian play I got the most, but I've always had a hard time reading classics. While I'm a fast reader, I'm not necessairly an attentive reader.
I was thinking a different spelling for Ophelia, I don't know.

Yeah, I'm not giving up on the world fixes. I'm just a little nervous about what pulling them out and putting them in again might do. Probably nothing, but I just worry that I'll go back to China and the whole world will have reset or something crazy. All I can do is try and see what happens.
I don't think anything should happen as long as you don't try to run the game while the fixes aren't in. Otherwise, I don't think the game is smart enough to realize the files were ever gone.

Look for a retextured version. Especially with (for instance) Peggy's hairs, people will retexture them into "EA highlights" rather than the shiny stuff.

She was, but I'd made her before in CAS and then aged her down to child form and save sim'd her. Which is why my first version was a child. When Raindrop's doll came to life I just CAS'd her and replaced the vanilla child with Sky.

I update my Nraas mods fairly frequently, but I don't remember how recently Overwatch was updated, but whenever it was, it was before the latest updates for the new patch.
I still haven't patched, I'm hoping my lesser mods will have updated over the weekend, but whether or not they have, I'll be patching by Sunday. At least Twallan and Buzzler's are updated, those are the most important.

I'm trying to renovate this house in Riverview and turn it into a bar/lounge thing (not the Remington mansion Melissa, a much smaller place), but I can't figure out what items to put in it! Lol, it sounds stupid, but I have no idea what belongs in a small town, upscale bar.

...If you or anyone here wants to give me some pointers or advice, I'd be happy to pick your brain. I've been working on this lot off and on for a couple of days now, and I'm seriously stuck. =(

I usually go with a theme for the place, pull all the stuff out of the catalog that fits the theme (I can figure it out better if I can see the items rather than trying to remember the catalog entry), and work from there. Like, I wouldn't decide to make a bar, I'd make a cowboy bar. Or I'd make a bar owned by a particular sim and match it to their traits.

As for landscaping skills, I don't, really. I used to be a humanities major (which includes architecture), so I spent a lot of time staring at the outside of buildings. These days if I pass an interesting house IRL I grab a cellphone picture or a sketch on a napkin or whatever to remind me to recreate it later. I'm really not good at doing the outside of lots at all, but I'm forcing myself to do it for this neighborhood considering how much I intend to be playing it.

My city hall lot has a sidewalk entrance way lined with blossoming cherry trees. Ridiculously pleased. :giggler:

What you could do is look at some bars online and see what they included. For instance, this is from googling "upscale bar":

Oh, I figured it out, trust me. *snickers* It actually solved a problem I was having with figuring out to do one of his rolls, too. The backup loss and then this combined to solve how to do that in the plotline. That second one was actually what I was going to do at first but it got all screwy with his Misc Fun roll and I would have had to drop a character I quite liked.

And now the little notebook of Snickerson storyline is like fifteen pages long for Altin's generation. I've pretty much finished plotting out his entire story all the way through his entire life. SO DON'T SCREW IT UP AGAIN, EA, I MEAN IT. NO MORE PATCHES. *shakes fist*

I keep my plots in a notebook too! But I'm not at 15 pages... I just have major plot points/scene summaries written out and the order in which they should take place. Sometimes pieces of dialogue for the scene as well.
