The clothes and hair look cool in Showtime, but I didn't see anything else that really grabbed me except the DJ'ing booth. And even that I'm not really into purchasing. I'm with Kayla when she said that she wasn't going to buy anything else until they started getting their shiz together. I've encountered a lot more issues than I did with TS2, but maybe that's just the nature of the beast. *shrug* (this has nothing to do with the fact that I'm utterly poor right now. Nope.)

The setting for pet adoption seems to ignore the rest of your immigration rules. It's under SP > pregnancy > adoption > pet adoption if you want to turn it off. I've had to resort to turning it on once a generation to build up the number of animals in town and then disabling it before freaking everyone winds up a crazy cat lady.

That's helpful to know, Zoku! I'd be trying to figure out why everyone in my town keeps adopting puppies. Seriously, in my latest Sunset Valley playthrough everyone seems to have at least one puppy, and I've only been playing it for about a sim week! Crazy!

I've noticed that pets add to my lag a lot so adoption is the FIRST thing I turn off in a new town (followed by adjusting the number of children per family and similar little tweaks to make the game more me.)

Master controller.

Intermediate -> Career -> Days off -> Set to whatever number you want. Also helpful if you're moving in a sim for story purposes and don't want any money from him... or her.

EDIT: And Buckley. Its just that Tuesdays constantly give me my lowest views and comments for my stories. So I try to never post on Tuesdays... thanks to Easter Break I forgot it was Tuesday today.

Do you mean maternity leave? Or all paid time off (Like wedding and graduation and stuff)? I know twoftmama has a maternity leave mod, but I don't know about the other vacations. If you don't want to download an extra mod, you can always just use master controller to get rid of it. I think it's NRaas/Master Controller/Intermediate/Career/Days Off then you'd just type in a negative number to subtract however many vacation days you want.

Under that same menu (MC>Immediate>Career) there should be a "Go To Work" option. It will send your sim to work no matter what time for a full shift without the "It's not your work hours" message.

I actually found one I really like (chapters, a location I like, a position I like), but getting my references together has been hard. Nobody has emailed me back with permission yet...and I feel weird submitting it without the person's consent.

You should definitely wait. My dad hires people at his job and it looks bad when they call a reference who isn't prepared. It's also good to let your references know if you got the job/didn't get the job... someone just used my dad as a reference and never told him if they were hired or not>>it was slightly awkward.

Well, it looks like I will be starting a random legacy earlier than I planned. I decided to actually work on updating the Avendales and am having the weirdest glitch. I cannot view my homes from the inside. I get an overall view, with the roof up and changing levels doesn't do anything. Neither does changing wall views. If I go into build mode, suddenly it works again. Go back to live mode, pops back to outside view. Go to another lot, double click sim on home lot and I can see the inside of the house fine but no furniture loads. Change to build mode, can see everything just fine. Switch to live mode, back to exterior view.

I have tried resetting the lot, exiting to main menu without saving and reloading. Then I thought maybe the house had some bad cc or something and loaded a Twinbrook random lot that I've never touched and it has the same problem. I am trying one more time. If not, I might just be completely tossing this legacy in the trash. I'm tired of fighting through the glitches and lack of inspiration just to get to more when I finally fix the first set of problems.

I can't decide whether I want to use Thea and go from there, in a sense continuing my family, or just completely start over new and wash my hands of all the horrid memories.

EDIT: I swear my game is a temperamental bitch. I tried one more time and it worked, no issues, no fixing anything necessary. Just was right as it should be. Sigh.

Technically no. Each sim twin is created independently of the other, by mixing the parents' genetics. If they happen to look alike, then they happen to look alike. The game didn't intentionally set them that way.

I'm restarting my random legacy, with new sims and a new roll. In an attempt to hold my attention, I'm redoing awesome custom world Great Bear to add Showtime stuff and more lots, and am moving in recreated versions of some of my favourite EA sims/households as the other residents in the neighbourhood. I think I have at least one household from each of the EA worlds :-)

Now to see if I manage to stick with it long enough to even see out the first generation this time... Having said which, getting it all set up to my liking is proving time consuming! Really? Cause I just checked my story progression settings and there's an option to adjust the chance for identical twins. It's under NRaas/Story Progression/Pregnancy/Chance of Identical Twins. So since I have a two chapter buffer for my story and a shit load of spare time this month I was thinking of starting a non-legacy style sims story like Melissa has. I'll still be continuing my Sari Legacy (Cause both my gen 2 possible heirs are <3) but my new one deserves a bit of attention too. Haven't written out chapter one yet but I did play with the characters a little. The males are eh but the two females I made might be my most attractive sims yet <3.

I can't get sims to walk over the squares that the gravestone occupies. Nor can I place other items over it. Its just invisible

I think somewhere in MC there's a command to transfer items from the lot and put them in your sim's inventory.

Have you tried using "bury the dead" in MC? If that doesn't work on its own you could try deleting the gravestone and then using bury the dead to create a new one.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to stop by and let you all know where I've been. About a month ago, my mom was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer, and now, over the weekend, she passed away. It's been such a big shock that everything happened so quickly. Is anybody else having makeup opacity issues? None of my cc makeup is showing up properly outside of CAS. I mean, it looks all splotchy and abnormal. I've tried it with a different skin too, to check if that was messing it up, but it still looks weird even with a new cc skin in place. Does the lipstick in this photo look.... right to you guys? Maybe I'm just not used to the way cc makeup looks, but it seems really off to me. Any ideas? (I cropped it down to just the lips because I don't want y'all to get any spoilers yet! Lol.)

I've had a couple lipsticks that looked a bit like that....almost like it was abnormally low resolution or something? Where the makeup and only the makeup almost looked like a graphic glitch? I just uninstalled that piece of makeup and dealt without it.

I've never had it happen to all my makeup though. :/

Dashboard doesn't mess with registry files at all, so your computer should be fine non-sims wise. I don't think deleting CC through that would mess up the game either, at least if you were doing a clean reinstall with no CC at all..

Ultra-Plain Faces, and for the moment, EA bodies. I have Ultra-Plain Eyes now too. Used to use that porcelain doll FFDW one since it has such a long range of colors but it looks like cheap plastic at the extremes so your entire town ends up being basically the same color anyway.

It's your fault, too. That screenshot of Altin and Kirk for the Charlton Families page made me reconsider the more cartoony look of Maxis-match.

Kanno's moonlight skins. I think they're the same skins Melissa uses? I don't know, somebody here recommend them when I was just starting out and I've used them ever since. I'm switching to ephemera's v 2.2 skins, but I'm not 100% sold on them. They don't include toddler or kid or elder, so I'm stuck with EA default for those ages. I just haven't found anything I like better, and I'm ready for a change I think. I never can make my Sim's look as nice as y'alls, so I'm hoping this helps. Lol.

So another computer update. This time with bad news.

They have no idea what's wrong with my computer, but apparently my computer won't detect any hard drive they install. It's not a mainframe problem, but that's all they know. So I can send it back to the manufacturer, wait a month or more, and then see if I can afford to fix it and send it back to be fixed at last... Or start saving up for a new laptop altogether. I don't know what to do really. I have $1k in savings, so at least there's that.

Well, if the problem persists through multiple harddrives, I'd imagine the drive isn't the problem...so you *could* just yank your harddrive out, stick it in the new computer, and either use it as is or copy over your files, without losing them.

Work is finally slowed down and so are the other RL things that have been keeping me from my sims.

Hopefully I can get an update every few days, I at least have plenty of pictures. I'm up to Gen 4 in game so keeping the updates coming should be a bit easier. Now it's just a matter of finding the time :)

Edit: Also, I just found this new world, St. Claire by AweSims, and I think I'm in love. It's really well done, and the style suits my tastes. I've been a bit busy recently & yesterday my Mum went into hospital with suspected appendicitis, they're still running tests at the moment to get a definite diagnosis :(

I've got all the pics I need for my next chapter but I'm having trouble concentrating on writing it. If it is appendicitis it should be fairly straightforward but the length of time they're taking with tests etc is worrying me

So I downloaded most of my sims 3 EPs onto my sisters' computer and grabbed Alex, Mel, Harris and Liam for the exchange and got them more or less into decent shape. However I could only actually finish one scene of chapter 2.1 without Serena... and I can't get Serena without Naveen. Who of course I didn't share on the exchange. *Sigh*

Still, half a chapter is better than no chapter I suppose. Last update on my laptop was that it had been sent to the warehouse for diagnostics and repair. Should be another few weeks at least. *Starts crying*

At that time my current adult sims were Ashby and Rex, and I recreated them and their family... but... when I went to play the actual game, it was like an injection of pure pain and I couldn't do it.

Great news! The repair guys just called to tell me that they finally know whats wrong with my laptop and how to fix it. The only problem is that the parts cost another $100 BUT the manager told me not to worry about the cost, that they would pay it for me.
