So my sims game was working fine and I loved playing it. After I installed Late Night, I began to notice my game was not working right. It worked ok for 20 mins or so, but when my sims entered into their first group, or whatever its called, my screen blacked for a few seconds. When it returned to the normal coloring, i noticed that i was no longer able to make my sims interact--very inconvenient. Basically what happens is the cursor changes to the one that allows you to pick interactions, but when i click on the sim no menu appears. I tried numerous things to fix this:
[list]
resetting the sim
deleting all CC
playing with a new family (at this point I found out that my entire game was afflicted)
reinstalling LN
installing ambitions

I have run out of ideas and I am very frustrated because its insanely hard to do half of things i need to. For example, my sims cannot get married, nor can they complete many of the quests (or whatever they are called).

I would greatly appreciate any advice :)

Is it just that town, or all of them? What about if you rename the The Sims 3 folder in Documents to something else (like The Sims 3 backup), then let the game create new user files and try it there?

I'm having the same problem. Only mine started happening after installing Ambitions and World Adventures (I don't have Late Night). I've deleted all my mods, all my custom content, I've deleted cache files, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the base game and both expansions, and they still can't interact!! No one has been able to help since the only tip I got was "it could be a mod issue" but I have no mods (or any cc at all) installed. I'm desperate for help!!!!

Was your Mods folder in the Documents location or Program Files?
Is this on Windows or OSX? Which games do you have and what is the patch level of each game?
If you're on a Windows system, have you checked the Virtual Store folder to make sure there isn't any CC there?
Have you read the Game Help:Remove TS3 Custom Content guide or Game Help:Installing Sims 3 Package Files/Old Way to New Way guide?
Both of which will help you find and remove .package files and framework from various locations on your system.
