I'm attempting to create a new "hair" for TS3 -- essentially, just the base game shaved head/amHairBuzzCut with the baseball cap from amHairBaseballCap. All I'm trying to do is make a shaved head with a baseball cap as opposed to the short hair that goes with the baseball cap in the game.

There's just a slight problem. It's not the meshing itself -- I know how to work Milkshape just fine and have no issues with reshaping the hat to the bald head and all. The problem is that, according to this (http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Tutorial:Sims_3_Hair_Basics) tutorial, hats are a no-no. From what I can gather, DABOOBS doesn't allow for hairs with hats. I've been scouring the internet, but I can't find any info on how to create new hat meshes and get them in game. Does anyone know how I can work around DABOOBS to make hat hair?

Sadly, TSR Workshop is the only alternative out there. It's not possible with DABOOBS and with CTU hat hairs tend to look weird most of the times.

But hats only you can do with CTU. :)

Try CTU for what you're trying to do - I use CTU for all of my hat hairs and they all come out fine. The hat hairs I've made haven't included any actual hair, so I haven't had the experience that Anubis has had where his hat hairs have come out weird (I'm assuming he means it was the hair part that came out weird).

BUT - as you're wanting to make a hat with just stubble under it, you should be in luck: if you choose the military hat hair to clone your hat hair from (the base game one with the stubble hair and the army-style cap, like the sims wear when they first choose the Military career), it should automatically add stubble hair under your cap.

I found that out the hard way - see a thread I made a while back in this forum where I was trying to make my first hat hair but it kept coming out with stubble underneath it - I discovered that it was because I was using the military cap and when I switched to a different hair hat to clone from, there was no stubble (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=391312 ). As you WANT the stubble, hopefully that should work out well for you!
