My wife has fallen in love with the Red Bud Tree introduced in Sims 2 Uni, and wants to use it as a lot tree, I've done a lot of searching across the web and haven't found anything remotely close.

So I thought maybe I would look at it through SimPe and see if I can figure out how to extract/clone it, and get it back in game as a lot usable object. While I did find it, it came to rest in a carry forward package SimPe doesn't appear to give me a way to extract/clone it.

Has anyone done a neighborhood object conversion for lot use and if so, does anyone know where I might found out how to do it or would someone be willing to do this?

Would greatly appreciate any assistance. Thanks!

I've never done hood objects, but looking at the file after cloning I don't think you can simply change some values in the package to make it work on residential lots. You will need to clone a clone a tree and replace the mesh and textures with the Redbud tree ones. I'm not sure why you couldn't find the resources as the clone package did pull everything you need to create a new tree, the mesh and texture. Also I found the mesh in the Objects3.package in the Uni files.

I'd recommend starting here http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=104795, it will walk you through creating a table to get a feel for object creation and the tools required. You can easily substitute the tree mesh and skip the meshing parts though.

Thanks HL, I will take a look at that thread. I've never messed with object cloning or anything else object related before, so I wasn't sure about the process.
