Hi All,

I'm in the process of creating a town of my own. I guess I should have done some research before I began because my idea is really not coming to fruition. I created a downtown area that had 64x64 lots. I planned on placing more than one shell on each lot, but alas, I am unable to do that. Does anyone know if this is possible or know of any work-around? The only lot I can place alongside a high rise is the bookstore/bistro combo that can be found in the community lots section of build mode.

Thanks,
Misty

Have you tried using the moveobjects cheat? I think you should be ok as long as the sim can get to the door of each one.

I did try the move objects cheat and also the buildbuy cheat, just in case. What happens after I place the first shell is the next shell will only show the base outline and a shadow. If I click, nothing happens. I can place other community lots on the lot, just not any other high rise shell, unfortunately.

Its ok for it to only show its base outline when you place it! After letting go, use the floor up or floor down button - that usually makes it appear.

Nope. It doesn't show up. I can click forever and nothing happens, even with those 2 cheats activated. I think if those buildings were located in the community lot catalog, it would work fine, but since they are in buydebug, whatever their coding is doesn't allow more than one on a lot, even if they aren't built into apartments and are just left as shells. It's pretty annoying, but I've kind of worked around it. There are 2 skyscrapers in the community lots section of build mode and 1 sort of tall building. So I've used them to make the high rises look more cluttered. The only problem with that is that I'll have a lot of those same community buildings around town.
