autographs

I have had only one sim get asked for an autograph, and I didn’t catch how it was done. All my celebrities never get asked for an autograph. Do I have to be in a certain place or at a high celebrity level? I also only get one or two paparazzi around and they never bug my sim. My celebrities are so boring. :bunny:

I haven't noticed any rhyme or reason to Celebrities being asked for an autograph. But I have noticed that it's more common if they have more than one star. Requests for an autograph will camuse them to drop actions in their queue.

Hmmm. I have had two star and 5 star. Do I have to be in a spot for a long time or does it happen quickly. Does it happen in the bars? I am always in there. I mean my sim is always in the bar. :bunny:

In my game it happens where ever my sim happens to be, even in travel destinations. It also happens quite quickly and quite often. It didn't happen with just 1 or 2 stars... can't really member about 3... but definitely happens with 4 and 5 stars. :)

It's so annoying when it makes you drop the entire queue! I wish there was an option to reject autographs and pictures!

Does it happen in the bars?

Yes it definitely happens in bars, if your sim is waiting for the bartender to finish making a drink it will drop out and you'll have to start again, which is really stupid and illogical. :(

Wow, maybe I don't want the autographs. I played for 3 hrs last night (bad snow storm kept every one home) I did not have to sign one autograph. I did have my 3 star sim have his photo taken by a fan, not the papprazi(sp). I would like to see autographs though. Can I get to be a five star with out any? :bunny:

Yes, you can get to be a 5 star celebrity without ever having to sign an autograph. My first celebrity made friends with all of her co-workers in the Film Career, made 5 stars in a few days and hadn't ever signed one autograph.

Is it just me, or does the Celebrity system just randomly hand out star's like cookies for no apparent reason?

I have had a Sim literally driving along the road, and suddenly they become a celebrity, for no apparent reason. (Well, he was married to a celebrity, but the spouse was a celebrity when they got married, and no star's were applied then, they had been married for the whole of YA and Adult before the game decided to give him a star.

I have a sim right now that's a 3 star celebrity who is in the military. He knows a few celebrities and gained the stars. He fell in love with a local firefighter who had no stars and when they got engaged, she gained 3 stars as well. She's now in the Business Career. No worse than another sim I have that's a 4 star celebrity TEACHER! Oh brother! LOL

My 5 Star athlete has 2 kids living with her (the boy is her's...the girl is this daughter of a 3 star musician she was living with who left to go tour leaving her daughter there...but I digress). Both kids gained a star while they were sleeping at exactly the same time.

As for the autographs, I agree with the rest...dropping your actions to sign autographs is stupid. At least when someone wants to take a photo, they just wait till you are done.

The default StoryProg randomly dishes out celeb points or stars, in the Demographics XMLs.

Hey guys!! please HELP me.. i dont know where to post my question so i'l just post it here.. hehe!!

ok, so i have sims 3 patch 1.18.9, ambitions, & latenight installed..
i downloaded the twallan's story progression, indiestone mod, and awesome mod..

-first, i installed NRaas only.. but according to the mod, there will be a new menu when u click a computer in town "story progression"..
i clicked on one of the computers but there was no such menu.. so, i think twallan's mod wont work for me..

-second, i installed indiestone mod.. it says "for patch 1.2.7 only".. so, again, it wont work for me..

-third, the awesome mod.. it worked! but my sims wont move.. they just stand still.. is there something wrong??

i put ALL of the mods in this directory: C:/program files/Electronic Arts/Sims 3/Mods/packages.
-i have resource.cgf in C:/program files/Electronic Arts/Sims 3
-have the d3dx9_31.dll in C:/program files/Electronic Arts/Sims 3/Game/Bin, Ambitions directory, and LateNight directory..

i followed all instructions and still cant make these story progression mods work!!
some say the mods should match with the base game's patch..
ive searched for the mods' updates but cant find a version applicable for my sims 3 patch..

PLEASE people!! HELP me..
