Are you the type of player who's Sims live day after day wearing the same outfit until they age up and are forced to wear something else? Or, do you actively change your Sim's outfit?
I remember reading once, maybe in the "making the game more interesting" thread, where the player said they planned and changed their Sims outfit every day. I think that was really impressive.
Unfortunately I fall into the category of same outfit, day in, day out. If the Sim cares about how they look, I'll have them have all 3 outfit slots filled and then change between them more often, but most of the time my Sim's end up using the same outfit. I'll plan it when they grow, if they grow into something really hideous, but then kind of forget about the outfits, until something forces me to re-think their look.

It may be my personality, but I love changing my sims clothes. So yeah, I will give my active sims the 3 outfits (females get 2 regular outfits and 1 maternity outfit) and every sim week I will probably change the options so they will have different clothes and hairstyles (love the stylist option in MasterController).

Or, do you actively change your Sim's outfit?
I have about five everyday outfits on my two primary sims, which my sims randomly switch through on a daily basis.
On occasion I will get bored with the selection and add another one. So I guess I fall into the "actively change" category.

Is having the 5 outfits part of the Dresser mod? Never read up on that mod, but I think it's time, heard sims will change outfits on their own.

Yes, as is the random switching. One of the best requests I ever received.

Most of my Sims will endure the same outfit for an entire lifestage, though I do occasionally switch between the three stored options based on the activity a Sim is pursuing. (This was particularly important to me when playing WA, since I couldn't imagine my Sims touring France in the same clothes they used on a dig in Egypt.)

How can I achieve that the non-playable Sims will not appear on the community lots in work clothes? They will appear in their everyday clothes.
It makes no sense to make the Sims, when run later only the assistant chefs around.

My sims runa round in the same outfit for awhile before I get sick of it and either add another outfit or change the one their wearing. I usually have a story in mind when creating sims so their clothing is based on that.

My poor Sims tends to wear the same outfit until they grow up. My sim men have been known to go to China or France and dig in a suit and the women tend to dig in heels. Yeah it is pretty strange to see my female Sims on the ground digging in a short skirt and heels. :bunny:

I generally fill all the everyday clothing slots, and occasionaly switch them between, but generally not.
The last one I actively changed the clothes of was a sim I'd put in a snowy neighbourhood, he had 1 outfit of outside warm clothing, another which was meant to be the same outfit without the outer layers, and another which was smarter clothing for when he decided to interact with the rest of the world.

I rarely change their outfits. Sometimes I will, but not often.

I'm still playing premade sims, and once I have them in an outfit that doesn't actively hurt to look at, they stay in the same clothes forever as a uniform. If I changed my sims' clothes, I might not be able to recognise them again from a distance :D .
However, once I get onto playing sims of actual people, they get as many outfits as I can find that fit with the real-life person's style. My pop star sims in Sims 2 had a different outfit for each photoshoot ;).
