Question about meshing

So i would like to start creating my own meshes, and i downloaded blender and sim pe... but i am confused on how they work... i've looked up tutorials, but they confuse me more... anyone familiar with blender that could possibly help me?

I've never used Blender. The beginner's tutorials on this site use MilkShape, which I've heard is easier to use than Blender. MilkShape does cost money (it's inexpensive, though), but I think it starts with a free 30-day trial, so you should be able to tell if you're going to like meshing.
