Is it just me, or have they given us a lot of new hot tub options (3 with Late Night, as well as several with OLS and the Sims 3 store) without really giving variety?
What I mean is, all the hot tubs are set up with a massive framework underneath, which means that you have to plan ahead for where you want to place the hot tub, since the framework goes into the floor below it. Is this really necessary? the in-ground hot tub in The Sims 2 worked just as well without any awkward structuring underneath. So why did they feel the need to make it so much harder to set up this time around?
Furthermore, I found that when trying to recreate old homes, such as Don's condo (or the Caliente's) from the Sims 2, you can't even set up a hot tub because the condos in The Sims 2 featured above ground hot tubs. Come to think of it, didn't the original Sims exclusively feature above ground tubs? Why are we missing these?
I was looking forward to setting up new hot tubs in the Sunset Valley condos I just meticulously recreated, yet apparently EA thought it wise to give us only in-ground tubs with awkward ugliness underneath to get in the way of placement.
If I knew how to make new CC hot tubs I would do it myself, but I sadly lack the knowledge, and based on what little I understand about designing new CC, it seems like it would be rather complicated. Maybe somebody else will step up at a future point down the road.
Does this bug anybody else? I hope I am not the only one who is bothered by this.
