View Full Version : Vampires stopping the spread

I have a slight problem with vampires and was wondering if there are any ways to sort the problem.
I have the life spans of sims set to epic, and after installing late night I noticed within 30 game days seven of my friends have become vampires, now if the spread continues at this rate then everyone in town will be a vampire round about the time my sim is an elder.

I don't mind vampires I like them in the game, I just don't want a town of vampires is all, and was wondering if there is a way (maybe editing some file or in game option I am missing) to either turn off the spread of vampirism or severely cripple the rate that it spreads (like a limit only 1 vampire can be made by npc vaps every 30 days or something)

I play in Sunset Valley, and have added a few extra buildings from late night, amongst them includes the vampire lounge. I run very few mods none that change game play or anything important, just a few cars and wallpaper sets.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, so far the only way I can think of fixing this is by changing the active household and curing infected sims one by one, but I would rather not do this if possible.

I wasn't sure where to post this exactly so sorry if this is under the wrong section.

I think there is such a setting in Twallan's Story Progression mod. Also you could get his Master Controller, it lets you perform an action (kill, cure, etc) on a number of sims defined by characteristics you choose, so you could cure all or a random sample of your vamps with it.

I downloaded the master controller a few days ago as I thought it may be useful don't know why I didn't think of it, although I think XML Story Progression: No Vampires, 3 flavours (No Celeb also)
Might be better for me, after looking at the whole story progression mod, I had a search about and that came up, although not exactly what I want it is as near as to what I need.

Thanks for the help :)

I just installed twallan's story progression mod along with the extra and the expanded addons to it but I can not in my life find no vampire option. I found no celeb option easy. I am using it through the city hall (to affect ALL of the hood) but I can't find it. Anyone here that has that mod know where I can turn off vampires? I want vampires but not right now and not to be overrun by them. I play in Twinbrooks hood btw if that matters.

Under Options:Lots>Immigration Options, there's a setting for 'Immigrant Chance of Vampire'. It is set to 0 by default, so no vampires immigrate to your town.

By default Twallan's SP doesn't let Sims already in town randomly turn into vampries, so if you don't have any vampires in town currently to turn anyone, you shouldn't be getting more vampires.
If you have vampires you want to cure, use Twallan's master controller. Click on the vampire and Choose Advanced>Traits>Change Traits. Scroll down the list to find Vampire trait, click on it to remove. Then, click thr vampire again and choose Intermediate>Occult and choose 'none'. And then the vampire becomes a regular Sim.

Ah bit quick on the uptake here...I went into those settings but all I find is immigration gauge. No mention of vamps. I have the newest version of the mod, could it be that this is pre Late Night hood? Or something wrong with my game?

Immigration Gauge has to be set to greater than 0 for the other options to appear.
