Just to let you know, I'm on the quest to find out how to make non-CAStable items CAStable. I'm pretty sure you have to change the actual mesh using MilkShape or Blender.

Remember though that you won't be able to CASt them in CAW- or in world edit mode. You'd have to actually enable them for in-lot use.

Well, having just conferred with armiel, there is no way to make a non-CAStable item CAStable. Apparently, the only thing we can do is change the existing mask and multiplier of CAStable items.
I wish this were different.

*Simsample remembers a time when something similar was said for Sims 2 (it's not possible to make non-recolourable items recolourable), but then someone found out how to do it*
