Wow! very nice indeed. I can see a couple of problems which will probably be easily solved. First in the dining area the chairs near the diagonal window will send the sims into fits because they can't pull out the chair out to sit down. They need two spaces to pull the chair and sit. so you can either make the room bigger or play around with furniture. Also the easel could be put upstairs maybe...it's kinda out of place in the living area. Then the chairs for the chess set could use an upgrade to fit the classiness of the room. As far as layout goes...really roomy and the house definately has character. Good luck and well done. Love that swirly carpet. Useable driveway a plus! Good luck and well done

thank you very much. ill try using a smaller table in the kitchen and moving the easel upstairs and changing the chairs for the chess set. i also just realized that i used the same bedding in the nautical and master bedroom.

Hi, I have looked at both of your houses in CFF and this is what I see:

POSITIVE : you have a real eye for the cute detail, and you do pay attention to colours and styling of the exterior.

NEGATIVE: roofing.

Sadly, a dodgy roof will always make the house look boxy. I am not a very good roofer myself, but I solved my problem by making L shaped houses as practice. An "exciting" foundation shape will almost always give an interesting roof. Dont try and roof a wide space in one go - it will either look all flat and splodgy or will be really high and overpowering depending what roof shape you use. This means that you need to break up the big expanses of roof without making the roof look patchy.

A good way of doing this is to use gable roofs crossing on your house, or build a lower level with a roof and then the higher level (also roofed) behind it.

Can we have some airial shots of the roof...I like what I see and am not sure what leeseter means by " flat and splodgy and dodgy." You can always raise or angle where needed but if there areas where water collects..that could be a problem. There are several buildings in our area that have numerous rooves(is that a word?) and boxy shapes so perhaps a more definitive explanation is needed here too unless you're okay with that Shaggy?

I added different chairs to the chess set, used a smaller table with only 3 chairs in the kitchen and moved the easel upstairs into the hallway

I changed the roof to mostly gabled but i like the roof over the garage so i didnt change it. i also removed the window on the wall over the garage, it just didnt look right

I keep looking at the exterior color. I like the house a lot, but I think the outside is overbearing. It's SO much! Is it possible to bring up the foundation stone somewhere to break up the monotony a little? Maybe on the garage?

Otherwise a fine house.

I think covering the sticky out parts at the front of the house with a different wall covering will add more interest- it looks nice, but a little bit bland.

I came up with 3 different options for the outside, let me know which one is better.

All look nice but I prefer the the first.I would also suggest more out door beautification by adding more flowers, shrubs and trees here and there. Though nice it still looks a bit empty

added 3 trees to the front.

I think the front still looks empty and will look nice with a good land scaping. Make the front appealing to the eye.Though it looks ok :) but those empty spaces still worries me.Try different combinations of shrubs and flowers so as to make the front looks really good. For example, I would add the lying fisherman water fountain to the space in the left part of the front house between the house and the garage and create a beautiful garden around it.This is my personal opinion and I believe it would really add beauty to the house. Take a look at Dakeyras luxury holiday house located here. http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=253633 look at the first and second picture to see how a little effort can make the empty space add beauty to a house by decorating it.

I added a statue, but not by the garage, nothing really looked right there so i just left it empty.i do think it looks okay though. i also added privacy bushes all around the property.

There is no "real" garden, is there?
Because the back looks very small.
So I would recommend to leave the space in the front empty, where now emptiness is. Children then could play football there, etc.
You could just leave it as it is - it's really an improvement btw right now - or make a homey ("real") garden section in the front, right. There's no other space, is there?
Maybe with a bench, but you already have a bench on the porch. I don't know, everything that belongs into a garden for enjoying the sun in the summer in it.
Only if you're bothered, as an idea :)

I re-built the house on a bigger lot and added a pool, swing set,and grill area. i also made a few small changes, but not significant enough to mention.

Oh, wow! It all looks very luxury!
Some tips:
1. Instead of using brown floors, try the terrain paint under the swings. Like they would be on earth on real ones. :)
2. Add some trees :)

Looking better all the time Shaggy. two things that look a little out of sync is that it is actual dining room set outside. Maybe you could build a little garden tent/shelter to protect it? Also I notice the one portion of the house that juts out in the front(sorry my terminolgy is lacking)anyway it isn't stoned like the other... refer to your "pick 1 of 3" picture. Don't know if that was intentional but having both with stone looks much better imho.

I added an awning to the BBQ area and fixed the front stone siding

Also had to move the tree in the back slightly or it would have blocked part of the awning

Looks better all the time! The roof, from the side, looks a tiny bit off, but that is probably just something about how EAxis does them. At this point, I would definitely download it. I especially like the addition of the "recreation" area in the back.

Hi, that roof still looks off to me. There is no "flow" between the roof parts - like on your last shot, that roofline does not look correct at all. I recommend looking at some roofing tutorials so you can line up the roof ridges in a more realistic way. What EPs do you have? I think if you have pets or higher you can adjust individual roof slope angles to line everything up.

This is what i came up with for the change to the roof:

I had to move the circled part of the house up one square to make the changes for the roof

I made the house smaller, changed the back yard slightly, added a terrain pain on the whole lot, changed the fence and furnished the house
