I took out all my packages last night. Installed generations it went like clockwork when I started it with the outdoor pack launcher. Installed gen patch still no problem. Now earlier I took in the mod by treeag "auto testingcheats" blablabla. I started with that since I need it for building.

Today I can't start it. Complains about no disc, put in the disc first. I have the Gen disc in and starting from outdoor launcher as before Gen. I started from the Gen icon too. Sometime I installed the new EADM thingi too, I don't know when I did that.

I went in to the Gen files and open it without the launcher. It starts as it should, I get all the way to starting the nabourhood I want. It says no disc, put in the disc or close program.

I have tried putting in the outdoor living disc too, still no disc. Do you have something else for me to try?

I run from windows 7.

EDIT: Seems I have a problem with my drivers: ATI HDMI Audio, VIA High definition Audio and Realtek PCIe GBE Family controller. They failed update. I don't even know what those are. That's the report from Driver Mender.
I have innstalled the hole package for Windows 7, 64 bits from AMD Radeon. Driver Mender keeps complaining about the same 3 tings. I have a ATI Radeon HD 4200. I'm not the professional but I don't think this problem has anything to do with the graphics card?

I need a drink and some thinking.

First thing I suspect is that your disk might be damaged or dirty. Can your computer read other disks okay? Can you browse to files on your Generations disk through Windows Explorer?

Try cleaning the disk:

That is a good idea, but I'm then thinking it might be something with my pc. I had no success reading Civ5 when I bought it the other day. I used Stream to run it instead. Thank you for the tip. I'm gonna look into that in the morning. I have been playing sims after I didn't get to install Civ ... Too late now, checking tomorrow.
