I will keep this short and sweet, hello all i was a lerker now i am not. im not new to sketchup and have created a nice full height bay window i can export the file to .obj and then into milkshape, the faces all show up black. instead of smooth shaded.

sketchup uses a two faces system and this may be causing some issues. when i look at the model in game or in milkshape i can see through the front face to the back face.

has anyone sucsessfully exported from sketchup into milkshape?

edit.

i was correct, reversing the faces helps milkshape intemperate the model correctly. also adding more polygon triangles helps to add detail.

heres a picture of the model in tsrw

Yes, you can apply the original texture to your mesh in Milkshape
*select the whole mesh(faces)
*Go to materialtab and click new, then none
browse to your texture file
*click assigne
*right click somewhere in the 3d window and choose textured

Under Window you find the texture editor if you want to edit/update or change the uvmap.

i would just like to say that if you have imported from sketch up as its a lot faster and more accurate then milkshape. you may see black faces on your model that do not apear corectly in TSRW or CTU or indeed in game, all you need to do is reverse the fases in sketchup or in milkshape under the faces > reverse vertex order
